I normally do not do this sort of thing. But after playing Jax since the game came out i have noticed that his F2 Hitbox is a bit wonky. So i decided to go into the lab and test it against every character in the standing position, Stand block, neutral duck, and crouch blocking position. Before i post the chart i would like to say thank you for making Jax a really fun character to play. This issue is also mentioned in a thread here:

This Thread shows video of the distance at which the F2 wiffs. For simplicity sake my chart is based of the distance at the start of the match which is about the same distance at what the video shows. I tested in neutral also and got the same results.

Characters that make F2 wiff by Standing:
Nobody. I was happy that every character that didn't block got hit with F2.

Characters that make F2 Wiff by Stand Blocking:
This is where it gets interesting. For some reason these characters make F2 which is a mid wiff at certain distances when they are stand blocking.

- She is a special case. When Jax is standing in his idle animation he moves his head and body. When his head is moved back it seems to change the hitbox slightly on f2 making it wiff on Mileena

Kitana- The same thing as mentioned above with Mileena happens again in this instance as well. She is a special case. When Jax is standing in his idle animation he moves his head and body. When his head is moved back it seems to change the hitbox slightly on f2 making it wiff on Kitana

All I am asking for a fix to this move to make it hit properly. I believe this would also make his Mid Screen Combos after EX OH Dash Punch Hit more consistently against smaller Characters.

Another issue i have found is that in the corner against Goro B34 Into OH Dash Punch and Normal Dash Punch will wiff on Goro. I do not know the reason for this but it works on the rest of the cast.

I actually wouldn't mind if they nerf the corner carry/push back on ExOHDashPunch so that comboing F2 would be more consistent against everyone if it hits.

I feel like thatd be easier to do than some of the hurtbox issues that are more finicky to fix. I just wish Jax isn't overlooked with this just because Jax has been seeing some success with Tyrant's heavy weapons ( in that variation Jax could run cancel on any hit into F3 or 12 which makes the combo after exohdashpunch more consistent and less dependant on whether the opponent is standing or crouching or male or female).

Especially on Milleena and Raiden. Even after a Down 4 hits, Milleena can ball roll straight through F21 pressure, which makes the MU tough. I actually think it's one of my worst MU at the moment.

In general uppercuts seem to ruin Jax's F2 pressure.

F3 xx gotcha is a good alternative, but you lose the +1 on block, which is a real shame.

If this is the only change Jax gets, I'll be a very happy.

I hope this doesn't get fixed because this character is a royal pain in the ass to fight for me lol. Good writeup though. Mids should hit correctly regardless of how good a characters pressure is. Until then I will take advantage of this.

Use it if needed man. There are other holes as well besides derpy hitboxes.

You can do it on Cassie. The Link is just REALLY hard. Like when i went to test it i got lucky and was able to record it on the first try.
That's why I don't do it. Have to take the easy combo in that case I lose 9-10% on females. It's frustrating.

Thanks for putting in the work to make this thread @RM Indecisive this hurts this string so much once people catch on to the whiffing they can wait for you to advance and counterpoke your whiffed F2, really neuters the string in footsies.

Yeah this bullshit needs to go, I'd be ok with them fixing f2 as long as his stupid ass d2 gets fixed too ~___~
hes uppercut has a reird hitbox aswell sometimes it hits people behind him aster a crossover...
Other characters have their Uppercuts and other moves hit behind them. Please do not complain about Jax's Godlike Uppercut in the thread. Thanks.

I'm actually 100% ok with certain moves that universally dodge mid attacks making F2 whiff.

Mileenas ball is suppose to low profile mids, and it's full combo punishable.

Some low pokes are also suppose to low profile some mids.

Just crouch blocking as Cassie then being able to dodge mids at jab distance and not being able to combo someone just because of their gender... now that's just wonky.

Btw, F3 has no true follow-up on block so it's not an alternative to F2. You could armor through after blocking every time and depending on the reversal it'll punish even if Jax blocks right after F3 which is a punishable normal. It has its uses, but it isn't a go-to move.

In wrestler you can do 1+3 and pray they do not punish or go for a Command grab since it tick throws. If you think they are going to armor then you can survive by doing Armor Command grab probably.

Yea that makes more sense, some hit stun animations make it so F2 whiffs on certain characters from some distances like D4.

And as far as streams go, not currently. I go to local Florida tournaments, but they're unfortunately not streamed. I'll be at CEO though.

Raiden has for some reason been removed from the list. On both Stand Blocking and Crouch Blocking. No changes to anyone else.
