Double Ground Pound

lol i know man! my controller is derelict right now! My d-pad, L1, R1, R2, and X are all broken or dysfunctional (esp. d-pad; in most cases up-left causes me to jump up-right) Its a miracle I still find ways to play through it...its almost unplayable right now!

Anyway, I discovered something I've never even seen regarding mgp!! I was playing online and did a DOUBLE-SINGLE ground pound!! 2 white glowing fists hitting the ground at the same time for 25% dmg! I was like 'WTF?!" I've never seen anything like it! I'll YouTube it ASAP as soon as I figure out how the hell I did it! :D

Dvdcsn , did this by chance happen to you when you did 1 of the 2 following things..

1.block?
2.ducking?

...I have done this on many occasions playing against friends and online..but seemed to happen to me(as far as i can remember) when i blocked or was ducking(or possibly both)...only reallt noticed that it was a double animation gp... 1st one is faster in animations(kinda like a half a gp, lol) but the 2nd one fully comes out.

Note: as a reminder to everyone, the dgp/mpg(infinite ground pound) is NOT a glitch..it was obtainable skill about 15 some odd yrs ago(when mk2 was born)..i used to watch highly skilled Korean players do it all the time back in the day, and these guys knew EVERYTHING about the game inside and out, 1 of them could(if he still plays) smoke anyone of us out there with jax/kitana or mileena with only using 1 hand using both stick/buttons doing everything!, including combo's..now THAT is some skill right there!!

Every Asian player I've ever played here in Utah has completely sucked at MK lol

I'm interested in this pound glitch.

It seems that it can be done more ways than one, one 6 axis ps3 pad, done the exact way dvdcsn mentioned, though it seems more difficult on ps3 pads... on arcade stick you can do this by charging the lk then release upon release time then as you are releasing you must hit it again at the exact same time as you are releasing..confusing??...

it's basically the same thing but you can release all the way and hit again!!, just look out for some things ....a really good way to do this so you get the best result is to watch jax's arm as it is starting to glow for the pound, just before you see the animation of it starting for the ground(as the arm is glowing but before it starts moving towards the ground)) you release/hit again before he starts to go for the ground pound(repeat process), so basically it's what is called in many other games as a just frame, make sure you are releasing the charge and hitting again before his arm starts towards the ground , this way you can release all the way and then press again, remember to watch for his arm animations, if you do it to late it will not work, if you have an arcade stick try it and work with the timing, i have got 4 ground pounds in a row to work this way, but keep this in mind, using 1 single finger to do this is difficult, i use my thumb and ring finger, 1 to release and the other to hit(repeat)

Edit: this was something that was used back in the day by the "leet" players of mk2 , 1 guy i remember playing against he would play against people using mileena/kitana one handed!!! also is one of the main reasons why jax is 2nd to mileena as far as threat factor goes, seems only right that the 2nd on the tier gets something similar to mileena's sai cheese(sighs).. , also if i remember there was a trick to cut the timing from scorpions spear so you could get it to come out faster 1 after the other, i know for sure you can def get 2 spears in a row for a bit more damage when doing spear uppercut combo, just adding 1 extra spear making it 3 hits ,still catching up with everything in this game, it looks simple enough, but can be very in-depth as well.

Yeah man! I think I was just randomly ducking when this happened.

I doubt that korean dude could smoke me though, especially not with one hand. If so, I'd retire from the game haha :)

i dont know... mgp still seems "iffy" to me. how do you know cats not using programmed sticks?? i decided thanks to dvd/ace to stay away from cats who do the mgp or dont switch up characters after at MOST 10 fights. rapid fire or whatever not i dont know the "magic" behind it but playing 50 rounds fighting the same godly jax gets boring experimenting on ways to counter.

Two LK buttons would only be helpful if you have trouble swapping fingers on the same LK. I've tried this on the keyboard and it is more trouble than it's worth, I keep hitting the second LK before I have released the first one and it retains the charge but never does the pound.

It's not a cheat, mgp is real...Jax is #1.

personally, I find it harder to pull off mgp if I needed to use 2 buttons, though I'm getting better at pulling off the mgp with the sixaxis (got my first quad ground pround tonight against someone lol). I still get my Jax' ass kicked whether I use it or not so it's all in good fun.

Ok what was the point of this bump? To help people who asked a question SEVEN YEARS AGO?
