Wow Pig, just wanted to thank you for this. I've been waiting for something like this since MK9. You have really elevated the community with this show. Thank you again, can't wait to see what more is in store.

Hey Pig, wonderful job you are doing with the armory episodes, I cant wait to watch more!

Some suggestions!

First I think it would be a good idea to consider how ESPN shows their videos on youtube, it is very focused on either a singular or a few subjects- so that when people want to search for a particular subject they can find the relevant information. For example this episode had some information on frame data. A new person looking up guides or help for MKX won't necessarily know what the purpose of your video is by the title.

Trump Teachings (Hearthstone Player) is an effective way of teaching new players and help them get into the game.

This is where Trump takes a game that he plays and explains his mindset of what to do. Similarly you could take a game between two players, slow it down, and explain what happened (why a person won, what they did right, the strengths and weaknesses of the character) and condense the explanations it into a maybe 5-10 minute video.

If you do an interview or a generally long podcast consider adding timestamps like how the wan show does it

so that it is quicker for people to listen to the topic that they are interested in. You already put the subjects that you discuss, but you should also put the timestamps as well. (like when your giving an interview with someone just note the time on a pad before you change the subject)

Finally, too much of something can backfire as well, when catering to new players that are not invested in the scene, too much information and jargon at a time can confuse people. A good amount of people have the attention span of a squirrel so short and sweet is better for you as well so you don't burn out making these videos (and coming up with topics for them).

Keep up the good work!

I beyond love this! Pig of the Hut's stock is rising! - watched both videos.

The "ESPN of the FGC" was one of the original goals of KN but it never got there so I am glad to see this happen. This is a great way to attract fresh players to the scene, and fresh fighting game players at that.

My only suggestions thus far would be, more cuts to footage scenarios when explaining things like at the 40 minute mark with Quan Chi's vortex, maybe some slow mo samples of critical points. I do like the background videos. Also, and this is a very subtle nitpick, is keep the verbal delivery friendly/matter of fact being as little patronizing or condescending or as possible, might make some people feel stupid, overall excellent job, can't wait for more.

Oh, and get Tom Brady behind a desk for a 5 minute rant segment every now and then.

Great point with being prepared like you would for any activity. I always keep some extra stuff with me for first timers and explain what they need but there have been players who have repeatedly attended events without even a controller, or claim to not have known what system we were playing on.

And as @STORMS said, yes my twitter is @umkshock - thank you for the plug, if you happen to have time to correct it, feel free to mention I'm an old bastard who's been playing fighters at a modest level 30 years and willing to give advice to anyone looking to help with the scene.

Looking forward to more! I will share up now.

Thanks shock, I'll make sure I correct the twitter account next episode

Thanks for the share and I'll continue to promote all MK tourneys and streams

Thx man

Can Toronto get in on this? haha. Hit me up if I am allowed to say my peace for the East Coast Canadian group.

I'd say the best discussion is what format to use for tournaments.
-FT3 all the way.
-Using Winner stays with character and variation
-Loser can choose stage, character and variation.

Questions I personally would like to see asked to guests:

Which character do you think is the most overhyped?

Which character do you think is the most slept on?

Which player is under the radar?

Which scene has the strongest competition in terms of players?

Also, IMO:
During interviews, I feel like there should either be clips of yourself playing ranked or the guest having tournament matches played (past and present games), instead of the still picture of their known character.

Also:
Florida: @Big D
Canada: @MTLJER MTL
@NeoRussell Toronto
EU: @PNDMustard
Also for Canada: @CCG_RXS

Nice Job @Pig Of The Hut ! My only criticism is that it is pretty dense with info, so if this was/is meant to be a podcast with those new to the FGC in mind, I'm afraid you might have lost a few people. Otherwise this was an awesome 2nd episode. I love hearing podcasts with Slips, and talking tips, terms, and FG strats. Keep it up!

Wow

I can't imagine how draining this could be week to week.

Kudos.

This truly could be the start of something big all around.

You have such good connections with top players that I can see this being something I watch when a character is broken down over and over.

Slips

Feared by dragons. Desired by virgins.
One thing I forgot to mention when your character is the one being outfootsied. If their long range footsie tool is better than yours you can also neutral jump punch to whiff punish it. So couple that along with spacing and d4 and you'll have adequate tools to stop them from spamming their best footsie attacks.

What is the best universal way to punish a neutral jump punch when you read it.

Pretty character dependent. Because they're jumping and cannot block, it leaves them open to special move attacks since they regulate a lot of space. You can always trip guard them as well. (hit them with something on their landing frames of recovery) Or you can run up jump kick or run up and uppercut.

It's typically a keep out technique. So it's not gonna hurt you unless you fall underneath it. If they abuse it then you can either punish it with a hard read or just let them land and put them in a 50/50 at worst.

Hey great show pig. I'm really digging this and I've always had deep respect for the love you give the community.
I needed to add something most people aren't aware of, Dink is also the guy you want to talk to when it comes to the scene in the PNW, as well as guys like Kevin 7.
Just wanted to mention that since NWM is coming this weekend. Great show pig!

In terms of time, I think 15-30 minutes is the best. Yes, we could use this for boredom at work, but I'm thinking about longevity.

First, this must be exhausting and huge respect to @Pig Of The Hut for putting this on. Let's not burn the man out with 3 hour long demands.

Second, I think we're really on the hype train right now with a shitload of podcasts and streams, this is a chance to establish a solid schedule, without exhausting the materials etc in the first 2-3 months.

Third, the format just lends itself to that greatly, kind of like a weekly sports recap. Just what you need to know, straight to the point, well structured. That way you'll also have great exciting content every week (tourney recaps, maybe like a match/set of the week vote, interviews, character tech..) But short, nice and succinct to keep people hooked and coming back.

Awesome job putting this show together! A huge win for the Kommunity! Thank you!

Recommendations:
-Add live exhibition matches
-Character breakdowns
-Show match footage from weeklys/majors/online sets/etc
-Pig plays opponents online (Xbox One/PS4)
