"You think you bad? Pffft, You ain't bad.."
See here's the thing, I'm a batman main. I have no problem grinding the shit out of his bad matchups. In fact, I love to play aquaman just because I like to overcome that mountain. But for me to sit here and try to act like that's the same thing as green arrow vs aquaman or Grundy vs bane or joker vs aquaman etc is just foolishness. None of you know the struggle until you grind a matchup that is 8-2 or worse with a shitter character . If I have excellent batmanagement and properly bait d2s with sparkles, and adapt to aquas trait usage with mb batarangs, I feel like batman has a chance. Hell, I never see anyone do it but he can full combo punish Trident rush with trait bat into back 3. My point is, there are things in that matchup that are "grindable".. But what does arrow do against Trident rush? Or trait? Or d2? Or that ridiculous mb b3? I dropped arrow because I was sick of losing to people I was clearly out playing. And I stuck it through with arrow prepatch, when he had potentially 5-6 more 7-3s and literally could not get off the ground after any hkd lol.

I hope I'm not coming off as a dick, I'm just trying to make a point. Unless you are maining cyborg, joker, green arrow, Scorpion, Grundy, or any other bottom five worthy shitter I'm forgetting.. Characters that basically pray for 4-6 matchups in tournament, Then you simply have not experienced the struggle. Those people that main those characters deserve MAJOR props.

I never really give up on a MU but the frequency I play a bad MU is a long time and the duration I'll play one for is relatively short

I main lex and obviously I have to deal with a good deal of bad mus,I thoroughly study all his 4-6 mus but I can't cope with his borderline 7-3 mus like zod, flash and superman and his 2-8 sinestro, it's just plain and simply not fun and hardly even competitive. I tend to go to my secondaries for those mus, not because I do t know the mu with lex but because I know it's a shit mu. At the end of the day a tournament placing is independent of mus because if you lose you lose. There's no bonus for winning a difficult mu or a second chance for losing a tough one either. Also some idiots like to critize your ability as a player if they beat you in a very hard mu.

I would probably be able to grind them out more if some of the people I played HAD A FUCKING MIC.

I get WAY less salty/pissed off/aggravated or whatever you want to call it when I can TALK to the person. It's better than getting pissed and constantly saying, "Bullshit!", "Fuck this!", etc and that affecting my ability to play.

When I can talk to the person I'm playing, I can joke about how stupid the shit they're doing is and it makes it all better.

Another thing is when I was at CEO and would lose, whether it was a casual match or tournament match, I didn't get the slightest bit frustrated. I don't understand. :/ I didn't even feel the need to get remotely upset. I just nodded my head in agreement and told myself, "Yep, you fucked up and deserved that." However, at home, I'm not like that all the time and I should be.

I'm an extreme character loyalist. I always say I'm going to pick up a pocket but never do. I honestly still enjoy this game due to playing as nightwing. I grind every match up as long as I need to. If I lose terribly or do bad I grind that mu and learn what I did wrong. Winning bad Mus is a great experience and I honestly find it as an entertaining part of fighting games. It feels
very rewarding after the times you
struggled.
Lies. You counterpick me daily.

I'll struggle to grind out the matchup until I finally give in and switch to Aquaman. Then I remember that I can't really win games if I'm having trouble staying awake while playing- and go back to Lex.

But seriously- I won't play a character other than Lex. Bad matchups be damned. I want to have fun.

gotta stay sharp!
well I play DD so I feel like I can take on anyone with him. Now against flash I like to play superman cause I do better with him. Even though I'm much more comfortable with DD.

That is a good point. I wish i could talk over the mic with everyone i play for exactly, so i can joke about whats going on and also get immediate feedback.

See it depends on how horrible the MU really is. For example GA Shazam and GL shazam i think are horrible. I have played both MU's a lot and have found that they are just really bad. And improvement is not happening for the most part. So a secondary is required for my horrible MU's. If the MU is not that bad but still not in my Favor i will grind it out. An example of this would be DS Shazam which is DS favor. I grinded it out to the point that i know pretty much everything about that MU.
Oh man! I was faced with a arrow and lantern about a week ago! I couldn't do shit! Feels like that freakin mini gun and jump back arrow were made just for young Billy! Poor kid!

I was in a weird boat with Injustice where all my friend's mained HG's bad MU's (Deathstroke, Cyborg, Sinestro, Zod and Doomsday). It got to the point where I began to feel like the Sinestro MU was 5-5 because I had it down so well (it isn't, not looking to argue that). If I kept playing, I think I'd do really well in tourney's when these guys came up, so it's definitely worth it.

As far as the Lex-Zod thing goes, I was actually super optimistic about that for a long time. Everyone was telling me it's horrible and I was saying "no, I just need to train more". I think it's a really bad mindset to downplay your matchups instead of really figuring out your options and going in with confidence. Saying "this mu sucks I can't play my normal game and they just beat what I want to do" prevents you from thinking about what your options actually might be, and knowing if you put those things to good use you can win.

Unfortunately I didn't comprehend enough about this matchup until Evo to realize I actually don't have options lol. But I can at least still do really well against Zod players outside of that aspect of the matchup when they can't do it well enough.

That all being said, if it comes time in tournament for it again (and with my luck it probably will), I'm still using Lex. Alts are lame.
