D1 input error solution

Its about D1~MS overhead tackle, often an Kiss come out unintentionally (negative edge) after the D1!
i have observed this in many other players even highlevel Sonya players like Morty Seinfeld, Gamerblake etc.
I found a solution for this problem:
Press D1 and hold the button (fp) and wait until the MS cancel come out then release it!
There are two advantages using this:
1 You can press your inputs faster
2 An unintentionally Kiss or Ring wont come out anymore

Nice find. This tech is in use throughout the community with those characters who have input/output conflicts due to negative edge. It's technical to a degree that most kombatants don't understand the concept as written, at least not enough to employ it right away. Full-scale realization of its usefulness can't happen until overcoming other, prerequisite techniques.

Sooooo, congrats muchacho, sounds like you've just hit one of those "click moments", a breakthrough in your gameplay. :)

One time I got the kiss on accident but GGA HAN teleported after my down 1 and the kiss autocorrected and hit him. It was amazing.

Back on point though. Nice discovery

yeah nice one! :D
I am trying this using a ps3 Pad but its kinda tricky however.
I play MK9 with fighting stick so it's very easy to do this.

Hat tier ftw
Now, just remove the rings input out of her b2, 1, f2 string and she would be perfect lol. Don't understand how that move was imbedded within a 3 hit string. Makes no sense.

I've never seen MortySeinfeld end up doing d1~kiss, at least not in the last year. Everytime he d1's me I end up eating the overhead 100% lol.

I could've swore a Stryker main, back in 2011 told everyone about holding the buttons down was a way around negative edge? not taking away from a re-post. It's always good to re-bring stuff up again. Sometimes people forget, or they know but don't think about it enough.

I remember reading about it being used for some scorpion tech too I believe. It's legit.

Ya DanCock posted about this just after the game came out. Note though that what's being described in this thread is NOT the input bug. That's when you do press just d+1 but a standing 1 comes out instead. (Google Computer Aided Analysis input bug).

Negative edge is when you release a button to input a special move instead of pressing it. You could just hold down s2, then input db and release s2 and MS will come out at neutral stance. Holding the face button would naturally make sure you don't accidentally cancel into something else.

I'm so glad we can turn off negative edge in injustice :)

How does that work? I know what negative edge but, is that what NRS means when you can switch controls from D+F to QCF? Is negative edge only a part of the MK style controls?

If a Sonya player does an Kiss or Rings at close range, that is 99% an INPUT ERROR.
Morty Seinfeld´s Sonya in the Video (a lot of rings):
watch the whole video or go to 5:10

The Downside of this "tech" is that is only possible on Stick, because on Pad its quite impossible, with Pad you are FORCED to press the inputs slower.

Dude that tournament footage was the first month the game came out lol. April 2011, the upload date says feb 2013 cuz we just re-uploaded all the hella old footage. I know Sonya has some of the worst negative edge in the game, but I really don't see him mess up that much anymore. Or mash d1 for that matter lol

Yeah, this is how I get around all negative edge issues. Just hold the button until you do the input for the special. I do the same thing with D4+MS

yeah, believe it or not, this still happens to sonya players.
i remember Gamerblake at MLG, in an specific situation his MS cancel didnt came out and Kiss instead, he paid for that with full punish and lose some important rounds (matches)

I don't really understand your point, though. People lose a lot because of input errors, it's not like Sonya is somehow the only character afflicted by this bug. Her negative edge is just a little more obvious, but negative edge can be avoided unlike an input bug.

Never been to a tournament. Stuck in NY

But that's why Sonya players are so focused on this bug, because her's are far more evident than most other characters.
