Tech Unbreakable Damage? 49% for 3 bars

I've been playing around with this in Training Mode for a while, but I haven't been able to test it on a human opponent... I thought I'd post it here to find out if this is old tech, doesn't work against humans, or possibly legit...

I already know that EX smoke bomb can be used for an extra 10% damage against a grounded opponent, but I found that it could be followed up with additional Ex Smoke Bombs if you have the meter for it...

The video I made below uses 3 bars for 49% unbreakable damage, but it still might be useful using 2 bars for 39% unbreakable...

the 3rd EXSB can be escaped. and at that distance i think the 2nd one can be too. the 2nd one is definetely guaranteed up close, but only as 2% chip damage, not on full hit..

What if you threw them into the corner so they stayed nearby for the subsequent smoke bombs?

After they block the 2nd EXSB they will be able to punish you, (depending how close you are to them) or jump out of the 3rd EXSB..

Also with smoke combos, its always best to set your AI to "roll mode on" "crouch" and "guard all". the AI with these modes on will block anything that can be blocked regarding smoke bombs that hit a grounded opponent, including resets that weren't done properly.

Smoke only gets the ten percent unscaled otg once. You cannot do reps of it, otherwise his throw would do 42 percent in the corner

After the OTG Smoke Bomb, it can be tech rolled and blocked, so it isn't something to waste meter on.

Ya, blame the poopy training mode somewhat for this miss-notion ..but the 10% unscaled damage is only able to be used once.

If you want to get extra unbreakable damage, after a SB immediately dash and cancel the dash into a jump towards, jk~air throw. You will ambiguously cross them up and breat out their breaker attempt unless they are a jedi. And not just any jedi, they've gotta be Yoda to block that shit.

i think the most he gets is about 21% unbreakable using 2 bars
Just want to correct myself here.. i did some further testing..

jik, EXsb, Airthrow, EXsb, EXsb... 35%

the last EXsb is 2% chip. this is guaranteed unbreakable damage and his highest unbreakable combo. Big waste of meter though. Can be done anywhere on screen, but works easiest in the corner..

If you want to get crazy, you can increase the damage of this by adding a jk~airthrow. Before you say "but frothy! that's breakable!", there's a way around that. Breakers are directional, meaning your opponent has to be holding the direction towards you to break. But what if, immediately after the first smoke bomb, you dash in then jump, crossing under your opponent, and letting you jk them in the back? They're not going to react to and break that the first time you do it... I'll bet any money that your damage jumps up to something more like 40% doing that. Worth the risk imo

I think this is LaR tech, but i don't remember. I don't think i've ever had this blocked even once as a matter of fact.... i've never once had to start mixing it up with forward and reverse kicks to make them guess on the breaker lol

i think thats a great idea! Cyrax has similar options with his uppercut midcombo. The only downside is if you play your opponent long enough and use it enough times on him, they can react to it and break. I think for the most part though its 99% viable.
