What's new

All B, F notations are now charge moves

I don't play Runescape
In Street Fighter, Guile's two trademark moves are the Flash Kick (anti air) and the Sonic Boom (a projectile) Both are charge moves. Notation for moves like this are usually done by holding back for a second or two, and then quickly pressing forward and an attack button (in Sonic Boom's case, punch). The notation would be , F + P
Another variation would be Holding down for a second, then up and an attack at the same time. [D], U + K. The brackets tell you that this direction must be held down for a few seconds. This is also how Guile does his Flash Kick

Which is why most charge characters spend their time ducking. They can hide the fact that they are charging a move and which one they are charging if they have multiple charge moves, by doing this and are usually defensive characters.

In Mortal Kombat, Sub-zero has the attack, Slide, which is done by pressing B, F + 4. If it wre instead a charge move, it would be , F + 4.
If all Back forward notations in MK were charge moves, how would you feel? For more information on charge moves and other FG terms, go here:

How do you feel about this? How have your characters been affected?
Personally, I would break the disc and slit a throat if Slide and Trance were charge moves.

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.
As in, you must hold back for about a second or two, then press forward, then a button in order to do the move, instead of just B, F+ 4 (Slide, bby). Hoe do you feel about this? How have your characters been affected?

wut?

What's a Smarrgasm?
Umm wut? I dont get the point of asking this at all. They obviously arent and probably never will be. Are you done now?

Because MK has a designated block button, it would be a terrible move on NRS's part if they had charge moves. I would burn all my MK ports and discs if that happened. This is not SF.

i dont get it....how is this relevent. What if back forward inputs were charge inputs?

Well, what if the block command was 1+2+3+4? what if to x-ray, you had to spell a 7 syllable word correctly in three seconds or less? Me no comprendre amigo

i don't think they should be charge moves, but i think you should at least be able to buffer directional inputs into special moves whether it's a horizontal input or a vertical input

e.g. if i have been holding down for a while, and i want to execute a crouching normal cancelled into a D,F special move,
i would have to release down before doing the crouching normal to get the special cancel to come out

in a game like SF, i wouldn't need to release the direction, because the down input stays buffered for the special

If every move was like that? That would be annoying.

Wouldn't mind MK10 having a few designated charge characters though, even though its a little weird with a black button.

I don't think it would ever make sense to just straight up make every back, forward and every down, up move a charge move. However I do think a charge character or two would be an interesting addition to future MK games because you can do stuff with charge characters that you can't normally do. Like, Guile's sonic boom gets to have much faster startup and recover than most projectiles because Guile has to be holding back for 40 frames before he gets to throw a sonic boom. Stuff like that.

EX Ovi should launch
You already can charge moves.

For example any bf motion will come out atleast 1 frame faster moving backwards than it would forwards, unless you play hitbox, due to the time it takes you to move you finger/stick from forward to back.
