Dive Kick 21 xx Cartwheel > B21 xx Kiss > Dive Kick 21 xx MS 1 > free b21 xx ms on block (or other mixups)

I already posted this but I felt it needed a bit more attention so I made a video. It abuses the fact that Military Stance > 1 puts the opponent into a stagger state, allowing, among other things, a free B21 that must be blocked.

Compared to the normal BnB you get the same guaranteed damage (51%), but you gain 4 things:

1. 2 more blocked hits and one more special (Military Stance) of meter.

2. Your opponent gains slightly less meter since more of the damage comes from chip.

3. If your opponent does not block the B21 followup, you can cancel it into a Cartwheel into the same combo which ends in the same situation.

4. As you may or may not know, if the opponent doesn't block an MS followup after a long combo into 112, it scales the damage on it. In this case, if they don't block the B21 then it scales the combo by 3% (38+10% vs 41+10%) however any of your MS mixups off of the B21 will NOT be scaled, so you get full damage.


Of course the B21 xx MS F1 xx Cartwheel is just the followup that nets you the most guaranteed damage. This one also gives you the stagger of the MS 1 to mix up with (gives you enough time to F4 for instance.) or you could just do normal MS mixups off of the B21.

Yeah I actually thought this up while working on a way to improve his corner combo ending in f4, since I thought he was losing too much damage.

She has alot of stuff in military stance that i have yet seen applied as well. she just gets better and better

Chef, I love this combo. I used it on one of my sparring partners, and he didn't block the follow up B2 1 and he just go relaunched. Fucking 85% damage total or something.

Essentially you get to 50/50 them with the high low mixup off of the second B21 followup and if they guess wrong it will be 100%

Anyway, does anyone remember her MS1 before the last patch?
You could cancel her kiss off of that and it would come out faster.
It was her only sp. move to be cancelled off of it.
Was neat but they removed it sadly.
i remeber the shoulder canceling to kiss also..i used to use it alot cuz like u said it canceled into kiss much faster..i wonder why they removed it tho? it woulda been an awesome pressure tool...reo posted that when kiss is blocked at max distance it leaves sonya at +10. the shoulder seemed to push them max distance too...ive found out that a blocked 112 and a d4 can make kiss be blocked at max distance for the advantage..man sonya is just toooo good..

This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm extremely new to these forums, so I've got a lot of catching up to do, but I was hoping someone could answer a couple of questions for me. Thanks in advance for your patience with me.

1. Is this combo string on the video spelled out somewhere? If so, where can I find it?

2. Is instant Air Drop (Dive Kick) just a quick: Up, Down+4 or is there something else to it? (I ask cuz I read some other posts about Kabal's "Instant Gas Blast" by pressing Up, Up, 2 or something, which is different than normal Back, Back, 2)

Instant refers to it being done as soon as you leave the ground, so it's a very quick input and attack. Sonya can either do a neutral jump into instant D4(I think this one is the fastest) or a backwards/forwards angled jump into instant D4.

The input for Kabal's instant air gas blast is shown as UBUB1 because it's the easiest way to execute it.

An angled jump would be better for an instant divekick. Your explanation is spot-on.

I want to thank Wonder_Chef for taking his time to post this video in April. I admit I took the set-up for granted at first, but since incorporating it into my game I have been very successful with it. Sonya players, if you aren't doing this combo already, you need to give it a try. The possibilities are endless!

An angled jump would be better for an instant divekick. Your explanation is spot-on.

Also, for those who want an easier time hotconfirming, you can just do B21 xx MS, then on block do a mixup, or on hit do MS4 > d1 xx Cartwheel > 1, 1, 1, 112 xx MS.

It does damage in the mid 30%s and ends in a MS mixup.

as you look at that option combo:
dk~2,1~Carthweel => b+2,1~Kiss => DK~2,1~Ring = 41% gives us 12 frames on the hit.
