I don't think anyone takes the NFG rankings THAT seriously. It's nearly impossible to rank fighting game players' actual skills, or even their tournament accomplishments. But the NFG Rankings are an objective fun system that provide fuel for some debate and can make players strive to get better results even more than they already do (think @KTSmith's excitement over making the rankings).

And if a newcomer wants to know who the top MK players are to watch out for (say a non FG person watching MK at MLG), they're a nice shorthand.

I love Bradycasts , but I wish he'd show something in the video other than an idle monitor screen. I'd settle for just his face while he's talking. So strange.

I agree 100% that each major should have the same amount of points. You can't expect the West coast guys to travel to all those majors on the East coast.

Ok so I do think that bill is right. However unlike sports brackets, fighting game brackets have a losers bracket. So in a way it doesn't matter that all the top players are shot into one bracket, you have the chance to redeem yourself in the losers bracket. Curbo proved this.


I ears ally think reo is right when he said more then top 8 should get points. I personally feel all participating players should get some points. There's a way to implement it appropriately.
