Pokémon UNITE is a MOBA game for the Switch. The game is completely free to play, so if you have a Switch, I highly recommend you at least check it out. I had never played a MOBA game before this game, and I love it.

Also, drop your FC’s along with your PU usernames if you want!

Here’s Mine:

Current main is Snorlax. He’s an absolute beast and I’ve gotten pretty good with him. I’m currently at trainer level 11, with my ranking in ranked match being Great Ball Tier 2 is I believe what it’s called. I actually haven’t played too too much, been working A LOT lately in this dreaded GA heat. But anyway, I feel like my Snorlax is very good, I do exactly what you’re supposed to with him. I do wanna try out the high damaging and quick characters tho, namely Cinderace, Zeraora and Lucario (in that order).

This game kinda rubbed me the wrong way when i found out u need to level up items (that can be paid for) to be maximum stats at lvl 1. But i will add u and goof around on it as i really like mobas. I also do not like the fact it auto casts spells for u towards the enemy. You cant for instance use a dash attack to escape enemies and retreat because it automatically targets nearest enemy for you.

You can’t upgrade items until you are a level 9, which actually takes a lot longer than you’d think. I JUST now reach level 9 over this past weekend. And it doesn’t cost very much money at all to upgrade items. I’ve fully upgraded 5 items for only around $20-$25 or so. I also used those gems I bought to unlock Pokémon and actually buy the items too so it’s hard to say exactly how much it cost, but it’s not very much at all. And considering the game is free to play, it’s worth it. Also, you don’t get the ability to hold 3 items until level 10 or 11, and 3 items is the max you can hold. So to max out 3 items, it probably is only like $15 realistically, but not 100% sure. I was turned off by that at first too, then when I realized how cheap it is, and considering the game is free, it honestly isn’t even really an issue.

Also, you can change all that stuff with auto targeting towards enemies in the settings. There’s a bunch of different settings, once I get home and get some time I can tell you the best settings to have so you’re not having that issue

Ya i just noticed that about auto targeting I am stupid lol. This zeroara char is op af. Who u using? BTW I understand what you are saying about the items but in all honesty it defeats the purpose of a moba if certain characters have 10% dps increase from bought items and med kits etc that aren't available at level 1 to a new player who spent no money on the game. I dunno how they thought that was ok. But game is pretty fun. Scratches the moba itch for consoles pretty well and the bar is set pretty low for entry level understanding of moba mechanics so I can convince people to play that are intimidated by DOTA 2's complexity.

I added you btw if you wanna have some games this weekend or some time just shout!

New Balance Patch update coming to Pokémon UNITE tomorrow, August 4th: https://unite.pokemon.com/en-us/news/pokemon-unite-game-update/

A bunch of different buffs and nerfs to characters. Unfortunately my new character I’ve been using, Cinderace, is getting nerfed. But it makes since, he’s ridiculously strong. The good news is that Snorlax isn’t getting touched. Although, I DO think he needs a better passive. His passive right now is that he essentially gets more health recovery from berries. Which is pretty terrible especially in comparison to other mons who have insane passives.

No items are available at level 1. You have to put time into the game to unlock the ability to equip items. This is balanced because you are put into lobbies with other players who are at a similar trainer level. So for instance, someone who is a trainer level 11 can’t be paired with a level 1 or a low level in general UNLESS that low level player is teaming with a higher leveled player. This also balances out boosting low level players with high level ones. Because you can do that, but you run the risk of facing high leveled players.

Also, I like this system because you cannot just start playing from level 1 and just start with max amount of items at maxed out levels just because you bought stuff. You have to put actual time into the game.

Also, all the items and upgrading them you can do without spending a dime.

Anyway, my main is Snorlax, but been using and trying out Cinderace recently. He’s ridiculously strong, but he’s getting nerfed. I’m sure he’ll still be good after the patch tho. How about you?

The whole thing with the items is no big deal to me because i am just playing for fun not going to be grinding rank seriously like i did with dota before. But anyone who designs that into a game has to know it will make a big stir amongst moba community (doesnt matter much since probably not the target community).
I am using zeroara. Jungling and ganking with him is a bit op. Getting about 18-20 kills every game.
