I want them to continue supporting the game, cause it has so much potential.
Priority:
#3 New Content like new/legacy custom moves, legacy Characters, new stages
#2 significant Balance changes
#1 Communication: why cant we have like a regular (4-8 weeks period) Kombat Kast, just to talk about the state of the game? Like what are the future plans, whats the reasoning behind taking so long for balancing xy, why do they balance xy the way they do?
Just saying NRS is not communicating with the NRS community, because "we" are toxic and bitching about anything is not the right way imo. If NRS dosent want to deal with the NRS community, they shouldnt do NRS games.

I do want them to keep supporting the game, this is my favorite MK and i think the game has a lot of potential.

However, not as it is, they are too complacent and uninspiring these days, and i'm talking specifically about the balance team, people working on the visual aspect are doing great with skins, gears, the friendships, the Aftermath stages and whatnot.
Agreed. I love everything about this game except for the gameplay

Not a fan of the DCU, so Injustice3 isn't something i'd be waiting for. Although the Masters of the Universe thing mentioned above does intrigue me.

Would rather them keep on poking around with MK11 and tweaking a few things. 1 or 2 re-imagined old stages like they did with Shang Tsung's Island Ruins would be nice to see. Or the Warrior Shrine as it is in the Krypt. It's a pretty good roster at is, so maybe another 2 more MK characters (no guests) would be a nice way to send off the game till the next thing comes along.

why do they balance xy the way they do?
Some insight on why they made certain things the way they did would be interesting. But i highly doubt anything like that would ever happen.

Which is the most important thing.

I've said countless times that MK11 is the best looking fighter with the best presentation of any fighter in history and it's kind of not close. Actually playing the game is fucking torture, though. I have NEVER enjoyed playing an MK game less than MK11. I honestly don't know how people like playing the game.

Having said that, I'm hoping for a new game, obviously. I bought the $100 version pre-order for Kombat Pack 1 and I regret it. I have not spent a dime since. If anyone knew me, they'd know how insane this is. I have happily purchased every single piece of NRS DLC for every game since MK9. I can't even remember the last time I played MK11.

Whatever NRS releases next, I hope they remember to allow fun shit and not be so safe with everything.

If the movie’s good, I’m hoping some tie-in DLC might follow for MK11, would be a nice way of cross-promoting, a bit like the 95 movie skin pack.

Who knows... maybe that’s what the motion capture team are currently working on from that tweet?

I think it's a great game, so I'd to see some continuous support in the way of additional balance patches and tweaks to some mechanics. I'm also a big fan of the Injustice series, so if they're working on Injustice 3 that would be awesome.

So I guess I'd like them to do both, if possible.

Even though I’m not too crazy about this game, I’d rather NRS clean up the game’s balance and mechanics as much as possible. The COVID-19 Pandemic and the negative supply-and-demand for the current console generation makes the cessation of support impractical.

Merely adding more characters won’t be enough. MK11 is my least favorite NRS game and I barely play it as is.

IDC because I can play the game I love and so should you. I love inj2 so I play it
I tried playing Injustice 2 because I like it way more than MK11, but I had to drop it. Since the game no longer has a competitive scene, people understandably want to play with their Gear enabled, which makes The game insanely broken.

I regret not playing I2 earlier, but the overly frequent and buggy patches, as well as crappy netcode of the pre-MKXL games deterred me from buying it at launch. I ended up selling my copy of MKX before XL due to the shitty launch netcode.

As much as i want them to move on, i will continue to support this game as muh as i can bear.
Besides, playing matches can be fun at times.

The competitive scene is mostly on discord now but there are enough to find games . You should give the discord a try and see If you like the atmosphere enough to stick around.

I would like them to continue to add moves, stages skins, gear, and characters. I especially want to see Tanya join the roster.

I also want them to go back to INJUSTICE 2 and add all the States from Injustice 1 as well as a second outro for each cast member.

'ello baby, did you miss me?
These plans are laid years in advance, so nothing anybody wants is going to change them now.
Generally that's true, but not always.

For example SFV got an entire season of DLC greenlit that wasn't supposed to be, because SFVI is taking too long in the oven. That DLC existing at all was certainly influenced by fan engagement with SFV (if no one was playing it, there'd be no reason to add any characters), and the individual characters selected were almost certainly influenced by fan demand as well.

We know NRS always intended to support MK11 longer than they usually do. But I also wouldn't be surprised if Covid + MK11's popularity changed the specifics on exactly how long.

Just for the record, i really like the gameplay, what i don't like is how some specifc mechanics are being handled(Fatal blow for starters), and the fact that they refuse to actually do something more bold in terms of balance, customs are nice, but it doesn't help when a lot of moves are not worthy of using.

I dont really like injustice so continued support would be good. But if they move on I've still got tekken and I've started playing sfv again. I don't mind this game as a side bitch but I can see how having as a main game could drive you bananas. I still have a bit of fun with it.

I got back into Tekken 7 as my main game. I didn’t play much during Season 3 because the universal damage and wall-carry buffs, as well as Fahkumram and Leroy made the game a mess.

Street Fighter V is stale and had paper airplane netcode. Hopefully the new Season 5 mechanic does something to make the game fun. I started playing Under Night again as my 2d game of choice.

Yeah I played through the season 3 mess and to be honest season 4 apart from the net code buff is kind of the same. Its still fun though.

I've been having fun with sfv lately. Not taking it seriously.

I've never played anime games before I might give one of them a go.

I got samsho about 6 months ago and its dead in Australia lol. I've had 1 online match and have spent most of my time in lobby waiting which is a shame. It seems fun.

Use only logic, please
They should stick with MK11. I like the game. Those that don't and prefer MKXL are in the camp of liking really fast paced games, which MK11 clearly is not. I'm not good at really fast paced games so I did not enjoy MKXL as much. Besides that, MKXL was quite busted, well beyond MK11.

I'm not a huge fan of busted games, but they have their audiences. I hated the 50/50 rush-down meta of MKXL. I like the more measured approach to the gameplay in MK11. There is a better implementation of risk/reward to the strings and moves. Not perfect, but better.

NRS has to plan differently because they release games much more quickly than Capcom. You just can’t really wing it, because their operation basically depends on getting the next game ready as soon as the previous one comes out.

Any delays aside, the 8 years, for example, that it took to get from SF4 to SF5 would be unthinkable. People are kidding themselves if they think the resources aren’t committed way in advance.

A lot of people call MK11 stale and I can agree to an extent the way they keep nerfing the fun things like Kitana's up fan and just recently Sheeva's dragon stance combos, for no other reason than because fun isn't allowed unless your NRS new staple character Jacquie I guess?

The best things they could do to fix MK11 or not 'fix' but at least make it more fun and keep players invested and interested isn't just to throw more stages and characters at the screen and see what sticks, especially if those characters are going to end up being overhyped and watered down versions of their prior selves in terms of fun factor (wink wink mileena cough wheeze), but to address some of the baLaNcE issues people have, which really boils down to 'I want to have fun with my character', like the Jacquie's and Jokers of the game.

How they could do this could be a couple of ways; First and foremost is adding more combo routes to different characters and moves, maybe even more strings. Bring back Sonya's air combo special she had in the beginning or Kitana's up fan recovery, spice things up in the move department. Secondly is make every move 1 slot or at least a majority of moves, for varieties sake if nothing else. Maybe make it so we can equip conflicting moves by allowing custom inputs. Thirdly to make it so the loser doesn't control the pace of the match, make Fatal Blows cost full offensive meter or defensive meter. The fact a player could dominate, say, a sub zero the whole match flawless but get mixed into ice ball FB for near 60%, there's no excuse for that scrubbery come back mechanic bullshit.

I think a majority of the problems of MK11 come down to it being "boring" compared to the freedom and fast paced fun of MKX or even MK9. Add a bullshit comeback mechanic and a roster who's devs preach balance when you got clear top tiers making rounds at every top 8 while characters who are bottom 10 are getting nerfed for no reason whatsoever and its a recipe for aggravation.

I like MK11 but it is not my favorite for a number of glaring reasons. The other games might have still had problems if you look back without the rose tinted glasses, but the difference between them that keeps a lot of people loyal, besides the arguably better game modes costumes and story is just the simple fact it was more fun to play.

I'm not even reading all the replies because this thread title is a classic fallacy that consumers have regarding video game development; the idea that a studio is only ever able to just focus on ONE thing at a time or to focus on one thing somehow negatively or prohibitively impacts the other. In other words, NRS IS working on whatever is next while ALSO continuing to support MK11 for how ever long they deem it profitable.

I enjoy MK11, far more than I did MKX. Add in the fact that their next title would most likely be Injustice 3 (a franchise I give no shits about) then yeah, I'd rather them continue to support MK11. Though I said in another thread, I think they're done with any substantial updates. No more characters, stages etc.

All of the above is null and void if they're working on a Marvel fighter, which Boon expressed interest in. I'd like for them to do that, as Marvel is far more interesting than DC and has much more appealing characters to pick from.
