I'm not sure how you could guarantee that woman's intentions. I can see being frustrated at disproportionate institutional power white people hold. What I can't see is why the next logical step would be "fuck white people".

So it is okay then? Nothing wrong with it because "fuck white people" doesn't pack the same punch as "fuck black people"? Things are wrong because they are can be deemed as worse than something similar?

I'm not gonna press further or ask again after this but I'm gonna copy/paste my question from my last post because I'm really curious to see what your thoughts are. I'm not looking for a specific answer or a debate, I'm genuinely curious what your thoughts are on this.

Is it the harm done/outcome that makes an action/statement right or wrong, the intention behind the action/statement, or both? Where do you draw the line in the sand?
I'm not here to debate utilitarianism. All I know is that fuck white people is a harmless statement that isn't worth getting mad about

Well... can’t we just say fuck white people, fuck black people, fuck asian people, fuck Middle Eastern people? I mean, just like black people nobody else chose the colour of their skin. Saying fuck X race is just as racist as saying fuck black people. It doesn’t matter what happened back then, we live here and now. What happened in the past is the past, if we really want less racism now and in the future, stop justifying racism against white people or any other race. Why should white people be okay with statements like “Fuck white people”, while if it was any other race it would be considered harmful and racist? This backwards thinking is what keeping racism alive. Black people definitely went through hell and statistically are more discriminated because of being, black but that doesn’t give black people the right to be racist against white people, that doesn’t give black people the right to say statements like “Fuck white people”. Let’s not forget that a lot of black people are racist towards black people as well, so using the statement “fuck white people” really is not helpful at all.

I’ve seen videos where black people were flat out racist against Asians, calling them “dog eaters” while they were born in USA. This isn’t okay, nobody should get discriminated because of their skin colour. Point blank period. People need to realise that racism is racism, it doesn’t matter at this point who suffered more from it than the other. If you want to fix this problem, fix the entire problem, not a part of the problem. Because if you only want to fix racism against black people, you’re not fighting against racism, you’re fighting for privilege.

I saw this image and honestly, this isn’t okay.

So its okay? I dont know why its so hard to answer the question. Is it because your answer makes you feel uncomfortable? It should.

Can you at least admit its racist?

Racism can be okay if its harmless?

I wouldn't consider it racist. like I explained before racism is a systemic issue not an individual one. you can be prejudice against white people but I don't think it's possible to be racist towards white people because you aren't perpetuating any systemic issues.

Okay, the distinction is drawn between racism and prejudice. I think racism can and does exist on personal / individual levels. I can agree to disagree with you, I appreciate you explaining your points and being respectful.

oh man, it got stupid in here. defending the poor marginalized whites now.
I'm definitely not trying to act like white Americans are marginalized or victimized. I just think hateful shit is wrong even if the target isn't vulnerable. I think you're reaching a bit here with what people in here have actually said, with the exception of Onryoki who is trying more to be inflammatory and bait reactions.

It's actually weird because both stances are technically right. There's the textbook definition of racism as in "prejudice based on race" and the systemic racism definition. I'm right with you in the opinion that people shouldn't be shitty to each other, especially concerning things about themselves people have zero control about. But my main argument against things like saying "fuck white people" or "fuck men" or whatever is that it's performative bullshit that makes people not take real problems seriously.

It's wrong, but I think people just disagree with trying to make an equivalency.

It's like if you kick somebody, and they're mad, and then you put your hands in your pockets and start whistling and say, "I don't know why he's mad! Why is he so angry?".. Except on a societal scale.

I don't support any racism. But it's clear that some people are just upset that they're growing up in a society that spent a couple hundred years killing their ancestors, beating them in chains for free labor, assaulting their women, splitting their families up, not allowing them to vote, not allowing them to be romantically interested in someone who didn't look like them, not allowing them decent jobs, etc.

And that people are still allowed to roam the streets with the flags of the failed insurgency that attempted to enshrine slavery forever here, and to push an agenda that they (and immigrants as well) don't belong in this country. Under the banner of 'free speech'.

To compare that to people who are punching down at a group of people that is living daily with the fallout of both past and present racism is absolutely silly, even if neither of them is 'right'. Any more than you wouldn't tell a kid who was abused as a child to "just get over it" and think that that's actually helpful.

I agree that it's a false equivalency, one I never tried/meant to make. I just wanted to hear that it's wrong, that racism/prejudice on a massive or minute scale is wrong.

It’s like people don’t want to acknowledge racism as a whole and just want privilege. In the end racism is racism and the meaning of racism is “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.” Wether that’s against whites, blacks, Asians, Middle Eastern people or any other race that’s under the sun. If people truly think racism against white people doesn’t exist, they’re dumber than I originally thought they were.

I honestly do not understand how the phrase “fuck white people” isn’t racist compared to the phrase “fuck black/Asian/middle eastern/ brown people”. Racism should and stay a universal term.

True, I didn't make a direct comparison though but I know you weren't quoting me. I'm just saying she's dumb as fuck which she is. It's easy to say "fuck (any group)" and offer no solutions, doesn't make her brave or smart. It is a harmless statement that accomplishes nothing, but its a dumb one and I'm making fun of her/it and feeling absolutely no remorse because it's hilarious. And harmless.

Fuck nazis though, I'd watch a compilation of Richard Spencer getting decked.
Do you have any context for the image in question?

Do you know where the picture was taken?

Do you know who took the picture?

Do you know why it was taken?

Is she an artist?

Is it performance art? Or do you simply disagree with the message and instead of engaging with the ideas, chose to attack her appearance?

I thought you believed in free speech? Freedom of expression? Does seeing that picture "trigger" you? I thought only "snowflakes" got triggered?

No, of course not.

Is context what determines if something is right or wrong?

I think sometimes it is. Is this one of those cases? I don't think context makes "fuck white people" better, even if it brings no harm. Which I've already agreed that its harmless. Harmless doesn't equal right though.

If you know the context of this picture then please educate me, maybe I will learn something from it. Maybe I'm being too harsh on this lady and maybe there is a context that makes this prejudiced statement acceptable.

Gotcha haha tym is brutal on mobile.

And that seems a little misplaced, I've never made fun of people for being triggered or snowflakes. I shouldn't have attacked her appearance, sure, it was uncalled for. Pretty immature of me to do that, point taken.

I do believe in free speech, I don't think she should be censored, she should be allowed to say fuck white people whenever and wherever she wants to in any way she wants to. I can call her whatever I want too. Neither her in that picture nor I in my comments about her are inciting violence or harm.

I stand by the rest of my response to your post that got cut off though. I don't think fuck white people is an okay thing to say. But I also don't think she needs to get shut down. I don't feel triggered, I'm just sharing my opinion on it. If you know the context behind the picture, please share, I mean that in a genuine way.

Ironically, if the person said "Fuck Black People", you would be asking none of those questions because you would be whining about how racist America is.

The far left has been attempting to convince everyone how bad racism is for 100 pages unless the racism targets white people.

The next time these hypocrites call you racist simply link them to this part of the discussion.

That was my main contention. Obviously, I've no problem with people disagreeing provided there are actual arguments taking place. I just don't think the comments on the appearance are necessary.

That's completely fair

I wanna say though, what argument should be made other than saying "I don't think she should say fuck white people". Without context there is no substance to that picture to even form an argument against, it just comes of as blatantly racist (or prejudiced, pick your own terminology).

Yet another post where you have to place blame on the "far left" to set up your point.

I cannot fucking believe this thread is still alive.
I can't wait to see what kind of further dysfunction breaks out before then.
Good grief.

And what exactly is your issue there?

Almost all my closest friends, including in the MK community, are non-binary or trans, so I'd really like to hear this one.
I have no issue lol, also idrc what your friends are if I’m honest. I called this guy a she and ever since people thought it was a woman. I wasn’t trying to offend non binary and trans people with it. Nor did I think of them while I said that.

I mean... isn’t only the far left saying all these things though? I mean the mindset of “there is no racism against white people”, justifying actual racism is usually coming from the more left side.
