He was VP when gay marriage was made legal nationwide you utter dolt.

But no, Trump - the man who sides with evangelical Christians who oppose the LGBTQ community - is definitely on their side here. Fucking LOL at how you said you was left leaning earlier on ITT, pure bullshit that you spouted purely in the hope that it would defend you from opposition.

Being a part of the LGBTQ community and voting for Trump is an oxymoron. The only ones I see doing it are well known grifters.

You aren’t as slick as you think you are, honey.
He's never voted, he's not even American. He lives somewhere else with a whole different set of societal cultural flaws, and still makes time to come here and argue with Americans on subjects he has no awareness. He's an expert on a whole host of subjects which have zero relevance to him. You can't reach some one whose ego is that big, he already knows everything better than you. Hit the ignore button.

I think everyone here agrees in principle with what you are saying, fenix--myself included--but at the same time I'm not going to blindly accept anything anyone says. Onryioki is not being racist or anything against you, I don't think, but you're not giving him a fair chance to respond because you are attacking him constantly.

Then you're fucking blind. By God dammed choice. And it makes me sick.

1) There have been over a hundred consecutive days of protests in cities around the globe, that have been met with open violence from police and the government, and people like you saying it's not real.
Look, I support peaceful protesting (I've done it myself) but its no surprise there has been violence from the police and government because not all of the protests have been peaceful.

2) Athletes, celebrities, store owners, influencers, etc using their respective platforms to raise awareness only to be told time and time again that this is not the time for it and not to make it "political".
How so? Using the NBA as an example, much of the league is constantly raising awareness and being encouraged to do so (unless we're talking about issues in China, LOL). The NBA's poster boy, LBJ, has been doing nothing but raising awareness. And the NFL has followed right after. Hell, even hockey has participated despite having the least non-white representation compared to basketball and football.

3) politicians, screaming for reform, attempting bill after bill after bill after bill to get passed into law to reign in the horrible monsters only to be stone walled by the Trump political army and people like you who say those people are wrong, monsters don't exist.
Could you please provide more details? Which bills are you referring to?

Also, I agree that Trump is scum... but you should really look into the pasts of some of the democratic politicians you are supporting now. For example, Bill Clinton has been used as a figure of endorsement, and... well... yeah, just Google him if you're not up-to-date on all of his misdeeds.

4) people like me and all the other "people posting on social media" having what little voice they have drowned out be people LIKE YOU who say all you're doing is hashtagging. You don't fucking know me. You don't know what protests I've been to from my kombat league record.
I would argue that everyday people like you and myself probably have the biggest voice we've ever had. But I don't think this is what Onriyoki was saying at all.

5) historically reconstructive books and articles being published by credible sources only to be #fakenews'd into oblivion by idiots like Ben Shapiro, Trump, and YOU who would rather watch a YouTube synopsis of it than digest the literary content.

Do I need to go on?
I get you're frustrated but nobody will want to speak to you if you're calling people idiots and cursing all over the place. I'm coming from a place of respect when I say this (and also because arguing is literally my profession, so I've seen it all).

This sad fucking paragraph is what people unaffected by systemic racism have been saying for going four hundred years while racists have been putting cigarettes out on our foreheads. Yeah, you know what Trump isn't the first racist in power, nor was bush, nor was Reagan, nor was Lincoln, nor was jackson, nor was king butt fucking James, but if just one of those assholes had been stopped instead of excused we could have progress. Instead now we have an entire generation of generation of generations of absolute fucking (soap bars in my mouth) united under the banner that America was great at some point that none of them dare specify because every single point of american success came on the backs of rampantly excused and later ignored black oppression.
I don't think people are ignoring the issues entirely. Human and civil rights have come a long way since slavery was abolished, no? Are certain issues ignored or not given enough attention? Sure, but as a whole there have been improvements to the system.

We have made it inescapably clear what we want, and you would know that if you trusted us, and not our enemies. Let me spell it out for you, equality. The same set of rules applying to our race than others . It's not hard. We want to commit crimes and be punished the same way others are, or have them punished the way we are. We want to be free to buy stuff and be screwed by sellers in the same way as everyone else and not on some unique black only scale that assumes we're broke. We want our kids to get the whole story from history books and television and not just the version that makes white people look good.
I think we all understand that you want equality, but I think the issue is that part of BLM's political movement has been focused on "reparations", which to a degree is basically asking for differential treatment. I think part of the message has become unclear and convoluted given the influx of news and information overload.

Nobody ever stands up and says they're against thosev things so they call it something else. Communism, marxism, socialism. Wrap it up in a conspiracy, or assassinate the speakers character. But it's always powered by some racist statistic no one can explain" black people just do that more because...", provided by the exact people we say are the problem.
Well, technically, BLM's own co-founder, Patrice Cullors, described herself as a "trained" Marxist. I don't think anyone said it to assassinate her character, she said it herself.

Can you tell me why we commit more violent crime? Can you tell me why we abandon our children? Why we seek drugs? Why we drop out of school? You ducked it earlier, so probably not. Probably society. probably "the government". But what you do know is that it's not your fault, not systemic racism, and it not simply because we are black. Great Job. Very brave.
Poverty. No matter the race, you put enough people in a room and deny them basic necessities, like food, shelter, and a working toilet, and you will get crime. And crime creates more crime. This goes for any race.

Just so you know a bit about me if you choose to read the above, my people were also slaves (we're white). And my country is muchhhhhhh poorer than yours, assuming you live in the U.S.. Where I'm from, there is a lot of corruption and a lot of hardship. Not much opportunity to move up in life, and if you do manage to make a lot of money, the system is very corrupt (funny story, my dad still lives back home, and his employer straight up refused to pay him 6 months of wages. Police didn't do anything, courts didn't do anything. Its been 4 years now).

So as much as America is a racist shit-hole, it also has a lot that works and many things people do not appreciate. To that end, there are many blacks in America who have been celebrated and also had the ability to earn a lot of money, the kind of which some of us will never see.

I'm not denying the existence of racism, but no society will be perfect, and that same goes for America given its population size and long history. But if you look into what's been happening around the world in the past and even recently, you will see that there is a lot of nasty shit going on out there.

One thing. I have no desire to piss you off or argue with you. So I'd be more than happy to chat and exchange ideas with you, but only if its coming from a good place.

Are we talking people in total, or as a %? I'd think Street Fighter or Tekken would would have the most simply because their player base is so much larger than MK. Percentage wise it's hard to say, I'm not sure why the lgbtq would be more or less drawn to a particular FGC scene.

Ahhhh, failed to refute how Trump is actually worse for the LGBTQ community. Nice.

I’m bisexual honey, I’ll say what I want.
I don’t care about your sexuality, I just prefer not you calling me honey. Because it’s making me feel uncomfortable. I don’t care who’s worse for the lgbt. It’s not a competition on who’s worse. Biden just feels disingenuous to me. It’s like you’re just trying to get under my skin instead of having a regular discussion.

Honestly this couldn’t have been said better. My intent on my opinions have never been racist. I’m just saying things how they are from my point of view. I never even said that that guy specifically didn’t do anything. I said majority of the people post BLM on social media as a social statement rather than actually meaning it and be genuine. The sad thing is he feels offended, by something that apparently doesn’t apply to him. If he feels offended by that, the shoe might fit after all.

I’m tired of people saying “Oh you don’t live in X country so you don’t have the right to have an opinion on it”. Its like saying if you don’t play MK11 you can’t have an opinion on it. It sounds stupid. It’s a close minded and backwards statement if you ask me, it’s like as if I don’t have friends or family living in the US and can’t worry for them. People forget that the US elections or any major election for that matter not only changes their country but also has an effect on the rest of the world.

Its just ridiculous gibberish that’s going on. The arguments have no substance and because people can’t seem to accept that some people think differently they resort to attacking. And this is something I see a lot on the left side of the community.

Wrong, but try again.

@Onryoki you obviously do care who is worse for the LGBTQ community as you decided to randomly shit on Biden for his position on issues within it (when he actually helped oversee making gay marriage legal). It feels like getting under your skin because you’re getting exposed for being a hypocrite and you don’t know how to respond. That’s what that funny feeling is.

From what I understand, the skepticism comes from the fact that Biden has a history of being anti-gay marriage.

Just a quick Google search tells me Biden supported the Defense of Marriage Act, which denied federal recognition of gay marriage, and before that he apparently voted to cut funding off to schools that taught about gay marriage. If this is true, then I don't know if his current support is genuine.

Has he had some kind of a spiritual awakening? It is definitely possible. But I doubt it given his age. I just don't believe that a 77 year old who is made of old money and been a politician forever suddenly had an epiphany to renounce his old ways.

Not only that, but his campaign has done some things, like interview Cardi B for no reason, which just make me think they're willing to bullshit the public as far as they can to get what they want.

I bet dollars to doughnuts Biden has no clue who the hell Cardi B is and never has. Please note I am not endorsing Trump - I think he's also full of shit. But I think people need to also consider that Biden might be as well.

It's almost as if politicians will lie to the public about anything in order to garner the votes they need to secure their positions.

I see. Well, I first assumed it early in thread during the healthcare discussion. You were apparently the resident NHS expert. Your hostility towards the US gives off a "they" vibe, too.

Beyond that, your grammar suggests it. Like using "ise" instead of "ize" (criticise). The nail for me, though, was when you called a guy in this thread a "bellend." I have family in Weymouth and I'm fairly sure that's a British treasure.

But fuck me. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

I think there's a substantial difference between "Joe Biden had a political change of heart 8 years ago and now wants to actively court LGBT voters by passing policy that they support in perpetuity" vs. "Donald Trump virtue signals to LGBT voters while constantly trying to pass policy that demonstrably rolls back their civil rights"

What many politicians actually believe, as we've seen with the SCOTUS nomination, is trivial and shifts with the changing winds of political viability. Obama and Clinton both did this too. I don't like it, but I think there is a next-to-zero chance that Joe Biden would gain power and then start rolling back civil rights.

That's just the scheduled pandering parade that happens every four years. He doesn't do an interview for an extended period of time... Except to do one with Cardi fucking B. Then he's dancing on stage to Despacito for Hispanics.

It's no different than Hillary with her fake accent or claiming she carries hot sauce in her purse. It's fucking embarrassing.

This is exactly why I am not supporting Biden. It’s all just a load of shit. Of course he’s gonna act all pro gay and happy and this and that in front of the crowd. He was to win the crowd for him in order to become president.

They can attack me all they want lmao! They don’t pay my bills, they don’t make sure there’s bread on my table every morning. They don’t do shit for me, so anything they say, I truly do not care about. I’d be mentally unstable if I’d let some sad middle aged men that I don’t know on a mortal Kombat forum ruin my day. I know everyone here must have been incredibly excited about watching millionaire adults who play pretend for a living fellate each other, but for those few who weren't, Anthony Anderson gave a little speech that seems to have garnered mixed reactions.

That was really cringy to watch. Why do people like that always act like every white person hates them, or has issues with black people thriving and being successful? I really don’t know where this mindset comes from where black people whenever they’ve achieved something successful, they have to mention how white people must hate seeing them achieving something. It must be depressing constantly thinking like that.

In all my personal successes I never thought about the people that would hate seeing me be successful or achieve something. I really don’t get those people.

The simple fact is that Biden has a better recent history with the LGBTQ community than Trump ever had/currently has. Biden still helped make gay marriage legal, a MONUMENTAL turning point for the LGBTQ community. Trump has done what? Strip trans people of rights, that’s what.

The fact that there’s people in this thread entertaining the notion of the opposite is absurd. People letting others pull the wool over their eyes with their slick attempts at bullshit.

I don’t care if it’s seen as attacking - it needs to be said - but how anybody could read the posts from @Onryoki and think that they’re posting in good faith is beyond me. He’s speaking on issues he has no first hand experience with in the US, trying to shut down those who actually have experienced it. It’s disgusting and the fact that it’s going by undetected by most of you is a really surprising turn of events ITT.
