What other fighting games do people play?

I spent all weekend playing DOA6. Mostly with myself labbing the final character, but I did find a few people with 4-5 wired connections hanging out on ranked.

I'm pretty sure I don't care about any other FG half as much.

Awhile ago I booted up one of the older Blazblue games, that was actually a lot of fun to get into.

Nothing else. Tried getting into Samsho, maybe I'll try it again someday. Tekken 7 I have to play on a stick so switching from stick to controller when I play MK11 feels weird. I tried DBZ again but I don't get that game lmao. SFV, forget it. I played 4 a lot but getting used to combos and switching from the quick dial ins to MK's slower combos is just a damn hassle imo. IDK. For me it's either MK or Injustice and I feel like it'll stay that way.
Have you tried the claw style stuff for Tekken? Before Hitbox, I thought it felt very comfortable and doable assuming I was doing what people mean by claw style. It's good enough for Cuddle_Core after all.

This is why I got a Hitbox style controller. I knew it would work for NRS games, as well as SF, Tekken, MVC, etc, and I love it.

Of course, it doesn’t have the right stick, so you can’t do a few single player things in MK11 with it, but it’s great for online.

It wasn’t cheap though.
Ditto on all that ^

*edit
all though it's annoying on PS4 when I want to just pick up a DS4 because it's handy, but the button mappings are per account not controller. On PC I can usually just pick up any random controller and most games have their own mapping for the specific controller and it all works out.

Yeah my hands cramp up it's weird. I'd rather play on a stick. But I also have this hori fighting commander so I'll try that.

One of my friends uses those. It looks hella fun, and I'm sure getting used to it would help I mean you can play all the fighters on it. I might invest in one I'll see.

Dragon Ball FighterZ, mainly. I also have Street Fighter V and Soul Calibur VI but I have yet to play them in earnest. MK11 so far takes up 90% of my FIghting Game time.

See if you can try your friend’s (if they’re close).

FWIW, despite being an old man, I never got used to a stick on the arcade, and was better on pad. I did buy a stick for SF and while I got better, it never felt right and took a long time to get used to. Hitbox took me less time as I use a keyboard for work a lot and the motion controls aren’t all the different than playing a FPS with KB+M. I say this because even with a short time with one (testing out your friend’s etc), you can usually tell if it’s good enough for you. I was probably 80-90% used to it after like two days... Of course, it took longer to be proficient.

Yeah he lives pretty far, diff country too lmao. But, I work on a keyboard a lot, played lots of FPS on PC too during my teenage years. It does look like it will feel better, the only thing that bothers me is the block button. I really hate that on any kind of stick. What does that feel like for you? Cause I feel being able to block quickly and transition from offense to defence is really important.

A hitbox usually has 24mm buttons so it’s not a stretch to cover three buttons at once, and I can pretty much always hit R2 with my ring finger when I want to... Of course, there are still times when i scream “i blocked that” lol, but I suspect that’s input/online delay at play.

Also, I use the button shortcut commands (1+3 = throw, 1+2 = amplify, 3+4 = switch stance) so that I don’t need the L buttons unless I’m navigating in a menu.

The only thing tricky with this, is sometimes I dont hit 1+3 at the same time (maybe its how i press it - index + thumb) and just a punch comes out. Also, sometimes i need to use R1 to amplify (especially if it needs an immediate amplified input after/during the normal special input - sindel’s low screamer comes to mind)

I tried to throw a yo-yo away. It was impossible.
Played a lot of SFV when it came out and up until like 2017/2018 when I moved and never really picked it back up. I enjoyed my time with the game and felt like I wasn't half bad but feel like I'm way to far behind now to be competitive at it again.

I bought killer instinct when it first came out for PC but never really took the time to learn it. I dabble from time to time.

I really like the vs games, mainly X-Men vs Street Fighter and really hope they do a collection of those again. I'm by no means good at them but I don't care.

I don't really like anime games but I tried out ps now the other day and went through their fighting games and kinda got into nitroplus blasters mainly because they had some command grab character with a chainsaw thing and I thought it was awesome. So if Ash does come and is a chainsaw command grab character, I might not ever play another game ever.

Melty Blood is pretty fun, also got rollback and is free, probably the most active game with rollback alongside fightcade games

I need to get back to DOA6, I had so much fun with it when it first released.

I might redownload that F2P version again. I bought a few characters that I like to play, no need for the whole roster when I don't really touch them anyways.
Felt like redownloading Fighting EX Layer again as well. Haven't played it much, and now it has rollback netcode!

Oh really? I think EX Layer has SF type of quick link combos right?

Played a little EX Layer lately.

Rollback seems to work pretty well in decent pings but seems to break down faster other games. Falls back to slowdowns at higher pings. Like the rollback window is smaller than some games.

Should play well if you find steadys that give good pings. Takes a while to find randos, which I'm sure isn't a big surprise.

The other day I booted up Virtua Fighter 2 on Xbox One, that was a fun throwback.
