It's time to bury the hatchet and make amends

It goes without saying that this community has gone to shit it's not even funny, and this affect us all, when i mean all i say everyone, from the company that makes the game, to community managers, casuals to pro players and even content creators.

The main culprit of this is pride.

Some ppl here never hid their distaste for the game and kept speaking open about it, meanwhile every single time there were contradictory opinions on the matter, today the money stopped flowing the offline scene is non existent and ppl that used to love this game now hates it, it's dead to them and some are even shitting on NRS

The antagonizing of ppl that speak up because of the love of the franchise, the loss and lack of comunication from the team that develops the game has been pilling up into this massive bomb of a shit show of what is NRS today.

I'm glad to say that i've moved on, and even then, it's sad to see this shit still going like a kill streak hot as ever and taking whatever each piece of the community we have left. So it's really hard to ignore because while i'm not an active member anymore i still feel part of this community, and i feel i have to do something to prevent this to continuing down to shit, we all do.

So i suggest the following for both ends
Dear devs and dear members, get your fucking shit together, slap on the wirst, fight us, bleed whatever i don't care, but lets bury this hatchet of pride and stupidity, lets us all forgive and forget and start respecting each other, communicate with each other so we can make better steps forward a better future together.

This shit starts now with this thread, no more wars and pride bullshit, this isn't taking us anywhere.

That's all i wanted to say, thanks for listening.

But I love reading the weekly TYM posts that consist of "MK9 is very bad" and "people only like MK9 because of nostalgia".

Isn't it fun reading and constantly being reminded that you're not supposed to like some MK games on a site that is dedicated to MK games?

That too, i mean, do we really need to be constantly at each others throats? Or we should find a way to be better at this?
Community managent and so on has been really bad lately. What changed?

It goes without saying, but we are a VERY fractured community. For a person like me, who has been in the this community since the MK9 days, it sad to see this.

But we have come far & done some great things, let's not dwell too much on the negativity of social media.

When the "community members" who supposedly support it only show up on said site to take shots at those of us who are here every day the problem only gets worse.

If anything we should take example of the Bloodborne community. It's arguably a hard game for most people. The setting is gritty and absolutely miserable, yet the community is the warmest and most welcoming.

I believe it's true that pride has a lot to do with it. Listen, when I get tired of the game I take breaks, then I wait until I can actually have fun with it again. If you aren't having fun, then you're just torturing yourself. Then you come in forums and antagonize everyone because you're angry.

Take a breather, bub.

I feel like the main culprit is a lack of maturity in the community.

today the money stopped flowing the offline scene is non existent and ppl that used to love this game now hates it, it's dead to them and some are even shitting on NRS
We're in a pandemic, so I assume that has a lot to do with why the offline scene is "non existent". As for people who loved the game now hating it, that's fairly common across all fighting games, not just NRS. Street Fighter goes through this with every new game, KI has gone through this throughout their "seasons". It happens like clockwork about 18 months into a game's life.

the loss and lack of comunication from the team that develops the game
I actually find NRS to be pretty good with communication, especially compared to other large fighting game companies. They release patch notes, they do streams, they're available on twitter. I'm not sure what else people really need from them.

I think people just need to be more mature and realize that it's ok if a newer game in the franchise isn't for you. If you don't like the current game and prefer a past one, that's fine. You can go back and play the games that make you happy. It doesn't mean there's something wrong with the current game though.

I unironically like this game. The characters I play are fun in every variation now. The grind for gear and skins has been softened than it was during Vanilla. And Kombat League is frustrating and toxic at times but it's never permanent lasting to me. Nothing is too toxic for me to say "I'm done and I'm never coming back"

Hell if I truly hated KL I'd abandon it and say fuck the rewards and stay in Kasual or just leave and play something else. If you hate the game fine, that is perfectly fine just play something else. Simple.

But the community is such a trashfire I'd rather just exist outside of it and play by myself and watch the occasional tournament.

"Mind Over Matter" I dont mind, and X dont matter
Good write up Eddie! Glad you are "back"? You know, I've been around as long, as You have more, or less. Though I don't play the game competitively in its current state, I still go through TYM on daily basis, however the amount of poison it's being currently pumped about how X character is broken, just makes me puke my meal.

The Prime days of MK are behind us, but as Jesus was brought back to life, so will MK...one day. Damn, at certain part of my life, MK was bigger part of my life, then my biggest love - at least MK didn't turn out to be a psycho bi**h.

I don't have much motivation to play, and no one in my house really likes this game, we supported as long as we could and were very optimistic at times, thinking things would get better, online is non existent here with the pandemic decease, so all this contributes to the well fare of the game.

But i will play a few days, practice to defeat a guy who is calling all my turf frees

some heroes are born, some made, some wondrous
offline scene may be dead, but I suspect that has a lot more to do with covid than anything else.. also moving to online is the natural progression for all scenes. If we still had the online majors it would be a different story... but there is so many MASSIVE online events no one can keep up. I mean there are like 4 going on right now with 100s of players each... evey thread I read about the game dying and I keep thinking.. what game are they talking about? As MK11 is live as fuck.
