Emerald Defender vs Scorpion

Anyone succeeding with this?

I'm literally losing to the same thing. I tried to replicate it in Practice Mode but No Luck so far.

He does the kick, over and over. if I try to poke out: Krushing blow. if I don't try to poke out, Back Throw or Forward Throw.

EVERY Scorpion does This Very Same Thing.

I am a Firm Believer that If You Lose To The Same Thing The Problem Is You.

I Have No Idea What To Do.

Any Suggestions?

PS Extra Irritating:
If I try to Poke Out, I get Kicked.
If I try The Same Thing with B3, I Get D1 Thrown For it LMFAO!!!

Obviously all staggers are not the same, even if they both indicate -2.

Online connection obviously makes a difference too. Try incorporating parry sometimes and try to read their patterns because they definitely have them. Also important to note, you can't mash to deal with throws you have to duck it proper and then do your poke, down 2 or whatever. Practice mirco ducking into jabs if you scout throws and also neutral jump sometimes.

Blocking and analyzing patterns is good too before responding even if that means you get thrown because understanding your opponent and reading your opponent is how you're gonna win.

I Know all This.
This doesn't Help in the Decision Making involved: When you have to Pick between Away Throw or Forwards Throw, or when they're Mashing F3 Like A Moron.

I appreciate the input, Though! Micro Ducking is something I noticed the Ai do and have been having Moderate Success with it.

Pretty good at the Scorpion mirror.

Try flawless blocking the f34 gap, if he goes f3 into immediate throw you flawless block both the 4 and duck the the throw. Obviously he can just delay the throw and still get you or adapt and f3 into d3 to clip you for plus frames into a 11 jail.

That's where reading patterns comes in and conditioning comes in. If you have full defensive gauge, don't be afraid to contest f3 with with a standing 1 to full combo punish. If he kbs you that kb is off the table for the whole match and you can go for the interrupt with d1 or s1 every time and the worst you can eat is the 4 sending you to your preferred range.

This strategy doesn't work so well for Searing Rage though, because they have other options from f3. Searing Rage can use f32 which when blocked leads to a full combo punish, while on hit leads to you eating a full combo, which means you have to respect f3 and the throw a lot more than against Reborn.
f32 is a high risk play though, watch out for it especially when he does have full defensive gauge and you blocked f34 crouching a couple of times.

Against Misery Blade he can't cancel f3 gapless into a MB cancel so the same shit like with reborn applies.

Also be aware that Scorpion has shit +frames on both of his pokes, making it impossible to hit-confirm them. If you get jailed a lot by d1/d3 into 11 or 21, he's just doing that shit without confirming, so you can contest his pokes freely if you block them and sometimes even if you get hit, because he has to hit a 1 frame window to jail from d1 into s1, while being a bit more plus on d3 into s1.

Against Searing Rage be aware that he has no way to cancel b143 into anything that is less negative or plus on block like teleport cancel away or misery blade, so after that he's standing in you face with -7 leaving you free to condition him to try to duck your throw attempts, block your pokes or contest your mid kick string.

All in all if you run into a Scorpion that hit-confirms or option selects f3 and b2 into teleport/teleport cancel, knows how to fuzzy guard your overheard into overheard/overhead into low projectile and punishes both properly and fbs your kick string, you're pretty much on the backfoot of a losing matchup, as ED doesn't have the staggers and safe on block cancels to contest Scorpion's own close range game, and every air projectile you throw is a huge risk due to the threat of teleport.

I think your best range would be just outside of f3 where you can whiff punish it and throw instant air glaives without him being able to react. Once you run yourself into a corner or let him dash in, is where the trouble starts though.

I'd suggest learning either of the other two variations if you want to improve your chances of winning to a 5-5.

This is just barely relatable but I loved the mid range combat in this game but I dislike the corner situations. Pros seem to be able to get out of it sometimes, but even in tournaments I see people constantly getting their life bar depleted in the corner. When the game first launched, it was launched with "back to basics" in part to appeal to new players. After a year, I still love this game, I'm good at mid-range but horrible in the corner. Don't really have the time to lab every character, and there are other games that have come out etc.

I respect people who think the corner game is great, and the toxicity doesn't really bother me (if you get a power trip over an MK11 match, something is wrong with you not me). The corner game is just too much guessing for my skill level and knowledge. Still my second favorite fighting game of all time though (played in a small SNES vanilla SF2 in my home town which I won, completely amateur and I played Guile who was pretty OP but anyways, that's how far back my fighting games experience go).

Just me that dislike the corner game?

Thanks now that's some Better Tips than "well People have Patterns" no offence. :)

I've been having Some Success just Walking back away and using B2. They will try to Teleport and get Punished.

Being passive aggressive Glortor? I wish I could say I was surprised.

The juvenile toxicity is why people don't bother or try to help.

Especially when reads and conditioning are a fundamental part of fighting games and especially in MK11's stagger game.
Thing is there are no definitive answers, otherwise the game would be boring.

You can only point towards scenarios where the risk/reward is in your favor. Like take my examples. If you get hit by 10 f34s in a row because you hit a button after 3 every time, the other guy will still win, even though you made the "right decision".

If He was Helpful I'd be doing Better.
I'm Sorry if I seemed Passive Aggressive, I'm Upset because the Only Person I have that could Help me, will Not and tells me to Come to a Forum.

Again, Sorry.
I know you tried to Help.

Equip Delia Dance + Deadly Assassin. Scorpion is not a hard matchup for Jade
His strength lies in his long mid without hurtbox, and Jade can counter this strength perfectly with B2 and D4.
His stagger is kinda annoying, just practice throw micro duck or throw tech and you'd be fine. In fact, YOUR stagger is wayyyy better than his, with a super annoying mixup: B2124 vs Delia Dance: safe OH/low mixup that can't be fuzzy blocked, and B343 Delia dance vs B3434: +8 on hit low or +5 on block pseudo-infinite pressure
Finally: Remember Scorpion can't hit you at all if you're fullscreen mashing d1/d3. He has to come to you if you have a life lead
