Yeah I always saw Ed as the soul(keeping MK alive) and John as the heart(creating the lore, characters we all love) but either way both of them make the best MK's imo. I do hope they work together in MK 12 it would be the right time since it's essentially another reboot of MK, who better to go to then John? They should get rid of the Titans all together and bring back the Elder Gods of new as the top of the food chain. I just am not fond of these random "titans" all of a sudden.

A Boon & Tobias led MK12 would be fucking awesome. As you say, it's looking like it's essentially going to be another reboot. Get their creative chops together again to start MK anew with a fresh and interesting story. As much as I love the MK1 to MK3 story, let that shit go fam.

Yeah have them bring something new but with the feel of mk. Liu kang, kitana and Raiden will definitely be back. Maybe Raiden will have different powers or get some back? Who knows. Of course scorpion and sub zero have to return as well.

Yep bring back the staples, but I don't mind them wiping the slate clean for a good portion of the roster. I think a lot of their new characters have been underwhelming if I'm honest, and I'd like to see them go back to the drawing board with some brand new ones (as I know NRS could do better) or at least save a few slots by incorporating underused characters from previous games (mainly thinking of the 3D games here, which I know Tobias wasn't on but I feel he'd appreciate some of the characters).

I do want the tone of the original games to come back though. The mysticism, the oriental aspects, the dark/creepy gothic vibe (especially with the music). This is something that I feel the 3D games at LEAST retained somewhat, unlike the new ones. I love MK11, but to me it just misses a lot of these aspects and they're a huge part of why I love MK.

Cool, thanks for posting this. I think alot of oldschool MK fans mis J. Tobias's influances. The mytholgies, Shaw brother/eastern inspired eastethics.

Lore and character wise both was heavinly inspired of kung fu movies and eastern mytholgies.

I wish MK will be more of that again

Yeah I like how Mk like everything else has taken inspiration from various things while at the same time doing their own mythos story which makes it unique.

Yeah I hear ya I like how mk while at first had inspiration from asian culture and sci fi they came into their own with their own unique ideas over time. I too miss cooler newer characters and that darker, industrial sounding mk themes from the 3d games and before that even.

Let's hope they bring that aspect back.
