He-Man & The Masters of the Universe as the Next NRS Fighting Game (Not Confirmed)

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

So watched the 1st 3 or 4 eps of this with the kids... meh... not very good imo. I do not think it is bad.. but it feels strange. I felt like the new Voltron show was kinda like a US Anime.. as it was for kids but had cross-generational appeal.. She-Ra on the other hand feels very children only. Also it is so obvious that they are ripping heavily from Steven Universe, but without the originality and in some ways daring presentation of that show.

Also, I know it is for girls, but I have 3 girls, 4 if you include the wife and there is no need to make everything as sweet as candy just as it is for girls. Even my little one was complaining that She-ra has this great big hunking sword and she never fucking hits anything with it, instead chopping a tree to fall in front of a tank or stab the ground to make a shockwave to blow people. In Voltron people died and they shot lazers. It annoys me that as it is for girls they made is so sickly sweet.

On the plus side the voice acting is awesome, and the main Fairy... sorry Princess, and her Archer mate were cool. The 3 character dynamic of the main crew works well and I loved how the Fairy is drawn (see Steven Universe). Also this new version Cat-ra is awesome and a big hit with the family as well as having the most interesting story and possible arc.

In short though, I didn't like it much.. but you know what my kids loved it. So yeah, the show may not be for me, but it is clear they know what they are doing as the girls really liked it. Like a lot.

When I was hiring a concept artist for a game I was working on, I asked him to do a drawing of Trapjaw to see if he could fit the style I was going for. Here is the awesome piece he threw together:

show runners rarely have anything to do with writing ... they are basically producers.

Netflix has announced a 3rd Eternia series. She-Ra is going strong, and Kevin Smith is doing a limited series that is an actual continuation of the original 80s cartoon, which is 2D .. and now they have just announced a new 3D series.

It also has a big of a who's who of cartoons... Christopher Keenan from the classic 90s show Justice League, Jeff Matsuda from the even more classic 90s show, maybe the definitive comic cartoon, The Batman and Susan Corbin who made the excellent Voltron reboot. All done by the production team of the Guillermo del Toro show "Troll Hunters".

Good? Bad? I dunno. What I do know is that in the 80s He-Man ruled and my inner child still kinda loves it. I hope this will be NOTHING like She-Ra which is a Stephen Universe rip off and completely unwatchable for me, though my girls love it so I guess it is exactly what it is supposed to be. I just hope this new He-Man has more cross gender and cross generational appeal.

The show is a legit reboot, as in starts like She-Ra with Prince Adam finding the sword, discovering Gray Skull and so on.

ooohhhhhh.... O.... yeah!

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Sounds interesting and if this is true it's kind of ironic since MOTU was supposed to be released originally the same date as the new MK movie but MOTU got canned apparently and MK pushed up so doesn't matter lol.

But I would try it out, I'm not really a big MOTU fan but I would use that little magic dude in the hoody, forget his name oro or oreo something? lol

Between that and the new movie, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a MotU fighting game announced. I'd literally crap my pants.

These as far as I know are all from the Kevin Smith TV Show... there are apparently two TV Shows for He-Man coming to Netflix.
