How to Beat CETRION [Strings, Zoning, Specials and More]

No it is not out of context he has said exactly the following.

  1. The zoning has zero risk and does damage.
  2. Taking a step forward against a zoner is not a loss for the zoner.

@SOULWARRIOR 71K I can totally agree with your interpretation though. As that is what you do, you get in and you do damage. And the video itself explains how to get in even faster avoiding chip. In addition to flawless blocking it reduces the advantage.

Number 2 I said, yes. Serving that as an argument as why it's ok to get spammed for 20% chip to get in with 0 guarantee of actually hitting the zoner, is bullocks.

Number 1 I did not say, and I have to explain yet again.

I said it is NOT ok for the opponent to work 10 times, 20 times, 50 times harder to get in because he had no tools, while the zoner just spams 2 moves.

Sure, if the opponent works his ASS of, he will win.

Still NOT MAKING IT OK because the workload is NOT BALANCED.

Indeed rushdown is the exact same thing when the characters are balanced.

It's a matter of risk/reward.

Whenever you do a move in zoning or rushdown, there should be a reward of a right guess or reaction or knowledge or a risk of a wrong one where you get punished.

But in most cases and matchups, while rushdown retains this risk, zoning does not, as throwing out boulders and ground pounds have no risk to them in the majority of matchups except when the opponent already lost 20% chip to get in, and be forced to make 3-4 right guesses IN A ROW to get there.

During this entire process, the zoner had 0 risk, while the mario/frogger player, pardon, the opponent risks that at each wrong guess or read, they are back to square one.

This is what's not fair.
Here read your own post. Tell me where you say zoning takes risk.

Umm..that's exactly what I said. That in the matchups where you don't have tools, you're screwed because you have to take a bazillion risks while the zoner just spams.

I don't get what's unclear.

@M.D. Whatever man, if you can't own up to your consistent whining seriously I'm done with the conversation. I understand why people just graze over your comments now.

Thanks op for the information even though some people won't utilize it.

Unfortunately for you I said the exact same thing each time. If you can't see that then too bad for you what can I say.

I had the same argument each time and you haven't brought a single one except trying to nitpick and find syllables of my own posts to hang on.

So nice try but no.

Wha wha? Sure I'll list it but valid in what way

Also we can't settle this in mk as if I beat him while he's zoning he'll be right and if I lose i could have beaten him but I suck as a player.

This is such a coincidence, as I was going to make an Anti-Cetrion tech video this weekend. Maybe I'll add onto this instead as there's a couple of things I think should be included. Good video overall.

Also, there's some defeatist talk galore going on in here lol.
Hey so like, if you could do that... before I potentially have to play you in the TYM tournament...

yeah, that'd be great!

And you can't list a match up that's valid so you don't have to get exposed.
Infinite Warden vs Mean Streak Kabal

Enjoy having kabal sling air projectiles at you while you can't check him at all with anything.
Also while dealing with the fact that once you DO get in... Kabals buttons are every bit as powerful as Geras'

There ya go.

Force of Nature is pure shit though......idk how you keep playing it?
yeah im thinking the same . Im playing spiring cleaning and tried today force of nature . It feels incomplete in comparison to spring cleaning. Lack of tele and db1 hurts . Less como potential too . And you gain what ? being able to cancel out of rock throw which is useless , ground pound which you can jump out of . If force of nature kept her tele and db1 from spring cleaning and just replaced gayser with ground pound it would be good .

1. this is why i dont come here often anymore lol

2. Let's look at your scenario. Taking cetrion for example, if you block a boulder it does 2% chip damage. Cool. So that means I have to have you successfully block it 50 times to win. That's a lot of work, especially considering all your options of movement. If a rushdown character gets in and hits me with a combo once, im likely eating 40%+ also cool. That sounds like balance to me? If I manage to successfully implement my gameplan I shut down your options to defeat me. If you successfully implement yours i have 2 1/2 chances to defend myself or im dead. You have less opportunity to hit me, but a bigger payoff whereas I have more opportunity to hit you with a smaller payoff.

Also FoN is ass.
