for AA: When I do 22 F33 into quadgrab, i can never get the grab He always misses it, cuz of that i just do d12 d12 BF4 , should i do gotcha instead of bf4

Can we please have some more fucking hit advantage on the Overhead launcher for Barrett.... fucking worked my ass off beating Sonya only for my d2 to whiff (she had breakaway so I HAD to do d2). Why is does it have to be so fucking frame perfect to combo off it smh

I feel like Jax's d2 is below avg - avg in range and it always needs a dash cancel when used in a juggle. I've whiffed d2 plenty of times after launching with amp bf2 as well

It's a good vertical hitbox but really poop horizontally lol. I wish they would add some more advantage frames on launch, it's so hard to get optimized combos in this variation. I have to settle for f33bf4 launch, f2 into Gotcha because I can't do the micro dash into d12 consistently online, b1 is also difficult online. I really like the variation but holy shit I lose sets sometimes because of demanding it is sometimes

It's almost like they thought we'd only use hunker down...

The hardest part about the combo to me is that the amount of dash you have to let come out before canceling into s1 and d12 is different. It took so long to get the timing down in training mode.

And then you get online and the timing doesn't work anymore ugh.

I also want to know what that extra brutality is that we got after the patch
The only new one I saw was in a ToT close to patch time, it's off the back throw and you repeatedly press 12 during it -- you grab them in the chokehold and you use it to pull their head off.

I'm kinda slowly gravitating back towards Grinnin Barret. Having a 9 frame hitconfirmable safe mid launcher into 35%+ is so rare in this game.

Yeah. I would make a full transition if optimal combos were made just a little easier to execute. You barely have time to microdash off bf4. While Jax doesnt have the most impressive footsie game giving his fast buttons are of pretty short range, Grinnin' Barret does provide a much bigger payoff when you whiff punish as opposed to Hunker Down. But the momentum Hunker Down has is just insane

What buttons do you use the most in HD? I very rarely use D12 in the middle of strings other than for combos

Mostly just d12 to build up hits to get the projectile KB. Aside from that I dont use it due to the second hit being a high. Since it starts from a poke people will always be looking to poke back after d1 is blocked - its very rare to actually catch people with it, not to mention d2 KB is a thing. I've been implementing a b2 without charge to make people respect that I have an overhead starter. Works well in the corner due to the push back being neglected.

Aside from these it's just the gool ol' staggers

Just to give a background I'm mostly a Noob Saibot/Kabal player and I've been doing their optimal combos consistently online with the exception of Noob's ones which requires a very elusive visual cue but I still get it like 50% of the times I try it.

With Jax though I'm totally clueless as to how to do some of these combos, most notably the "F33xxBF2(AMP), F2, D12, D12" and then the Gotcha Grab. And the other combo is "F33xxBF2(AMP), F4, D12, D12 into grab".
Basically what almost always happens is that the second B12 doesn't connect.

Do you guys use these combos online frequently? Should I stop trying these harder ones and just go for the easy stuff?

Are you dash canceling in any point of those combos? You need to do at least 1 dash cancel, but there are a few different places you can put it.

I am, I tried at a few different points in the combos. Guess I'll just go for the normal progression of things like I did with Kabal and Noob. I'll stick with the easy stuff until I get them down to perfection, then I'll try the optimal ones.
