Who does Scorpion lose to?

Scorpion makes this game unbearable online. He naturally shuts down most of the characters I'd like to play, and on top of that he has a tool set that's uniquely hard to deal with online. I'm tired of sweating my ass off to beat people using a gameplan that only works online. So who should I be learning to counter pick with?

Erron Black is a good counter to Scorpion. Erron bullies him up close with better pokes and dominate buttons. (B+2).

Scud Shot eliminates Spear and his Spear can be punished by F+4 from most ranges which also sets up a devastating F+4 crushing blow on oki.

Basically Scorpion will try to run away from Erron, but he will eventually have to come in and fight which is where the MU is tough for him.

I don't know if you are going to find a free easy win against Scorpion but if I had to say, pick a character from your pool of preferred characters that can heavily punish teleport on block. If you like Noob, don't use Seeing Double against Scropion, use Dark Sabbath for big ass teleport punishes. And I don't really know what level you are playing at, but don't be afraid to block. Make hard reads where you just hold block after movement or something and let a lot of these Scorpion players hang themselves.

What you need is a big dick punish ready to go so that the risk-reward of teleport is swung in your favor meaning that you do more damage to him when you block it than he does to you when he connects. Try to stay at about jump-in range. Do not try to enforce your gameplan or dictate the pace of the match. Instead let him do what he wants, but block it and punish him HARD. You don't beat Scorpion, he beats himself.

I like playing Cetrion against him because I've memorized most of the punishment tech. However the easiest answers I can think of are Baraka and Jacqui. Baraka kills him with damage output and a similarly simple gameplan. Jacqui puts him in pressure hell every time he fucks up.

I play primarily offline. Scorpion is annoying but manageable there. I'd like to be able to play online more, that's what this thread is for

What's confusing? 50% of the matches I play online are against Scorpion. And then a third of the remaining I get counter picked by Scorpion if I win the first match. The characters I use lose to Scorpion anyway(which adds to the annoyance but isn't an issue by itself) and to top it off the Scorpion players often use playstyles that are heavily rewarded online but wouldn't be nearly effective offline. It combines to make playing online a rather unenjoyable experience, especially since I'm primarily using it to get get match up experience. I don't know if that's hard to understand because you've never played offline or if you've just never had to deal with being constantly counterpicked while you're trying to learn match ups but either way you should be understand that I'm looking a counterpick and thought it might be worth asking here.

It was confusing if you were just salty or whatever.

Counterpick is obvious you might be playing Jade or similar zoning style.

Against online scrubs (your description was nicer but I can call them that way) I do not think the character pick matters more than your ability to play against them. If they just teleporting or canceling - even Jade can beat them heavily with proper defence.
But if the lag is too much there is no character who it is easier to deal with.

Of course if you use not zoner the odds that you will block is much bigger than other way. But if you do not like the character and just use it to counterpick him it might not be better and more fun to you.

Besides fun it is a good choice though. Sometimes I get bored/tired of playing against Scorpion with Cassie and it is much easier to deal with him with his own tools. :)
Lot of "online Scorpion warrior" can not even play against Scorpion. And just realize how difficult it is.

But I respect their choice and there are really good mirrors with good Scorpions. And we do not teleport each other to death. :D

Anticipate, block and punish all teleports.

90% of online Scorpions fuck up their gameplan when they see their teleports always blocked and punished.

Scorpion beats Liu Kang, Jacqui it's 5 - 5 ( She can't flawless punish F34 or 212, she would win if she could FB punish those ) Sub Zero loses slightly but it might be 5 - 5, 5 - 5 vs Geras ( Scorpion B2 can full combo punish low sand at range), 5 - 5 vs Erron Black ( He can stop Erron from using his sniper and gun stand whenever he feels like it ) Sonya 5 - 5, Cassie 5 - 5 because they can't zone him.

I like your precise and confident numbers. :)

I experience that Cassie does pretty well against Scorpion. Better footsies and up close buttons. Who wants to zone? :)
Btw few low gun shot can easily hit and makes Scorpion believe his teleport can punish anything and easily baited even with straight gun cancel.

As Scorpion I am more afraid of Cassie than other way. Unless Cassie is scrub and zone.

But that is just my mid level experience.

Lol Cassie can not zone. Okay Cassie not but Sonicfox can against Demi God Scorpion (he looks total scrub though).
Or just wanted Sonic to be Elder God. :D
