Can someone give me a run down on this character? I haven't unlocked her yet, but I've heard her described as a better D'vorah right now. Does she have good setups, pressure, etc. I know she's got pretty fantastic range on her normals.

In Ice Machine she has some really good slow and hit-confirmable mids (b+2,2 and d+4) and a great long-range high with f+2. She gets modest damage with one bar and can make her strings safe with d,f+2. I believe her walk speed is below average, she's got short range on her fast moves and they're all high. Currently, her punishing feels very inconsistent too. She's got some decent projectiles, but can get outzoned by the better projectiles in the game. Lastly, she has a really good fatal blow, and low execution barriers. In the end, I think she's a simple, but fun character.

That's just one variation, and just my opinion. I'm certainly no pro, but that's how I feel about her.

I can't really give her a D'vorah comparison because I don't play D'vorah but yes, she has in my opinion the best range in the game. Her F2 can reach 3/4 of the screen and is safe although it is a high. Her B2 also hits close to half screen as well as BF4.
She doesn't have the best pressure since all her mids are really slow. Her only low starter is B32D1 which is unsafe and can't be canceled if you do the full string which means its hard to open people up.
If you can keep your opponent at F2 and B2 range then you'll be fine. Make your opponent respect her range. I wouldn't say her play style is completely beginner friendly because of the neutral control needed and slow play. She's not the type of character where you can rush down and get in someone's face and do 40% damage combos.

How slow is slow? Because as D'vorah, I can't even keep people from mashing out of d1 on hit without spending a bar on her raw Katipo Rush (db4). Everything you said sounds good, but I need a mid that actually enforces the frames on my pokes, so if we're talking 16f slow b2 and a +10 on hit poke, I can work with that.

Shes fun but she has some serious issues I feel

Situation 1: When you hit confirm a poke, you are very susceptible of getting poked back so starting pressure with her this way is hard because of her slow mids. Better to walk a little bit backward for them to whiff their poke and you go in with B22 since it has the range.
Easier said than done since many characters have a far reaching D4.

Situation 2: Sometimes you will block a poke and correctly read that the opponent will go for a string but you are pretty helpless to stop him with a punish. Your S1 will whiff because of her t-rex arms, so will your S3 and the rest too slow so if the opponent has a fast starter, your only option is to poke back (in which case, you're back to situation 1

Does anyone have trouble standing up after ducking a fireball, then doing f+2 to punish it? More often than not, I just get a df+2 instead. And yes, I do have negative edge turned off. This is getting really frustrating. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I dunno if u guys did the Character tower (highly recommend you do for some sweet Frost stuff) but when you do it a second time at a small cost of 50000 koins, you have to do 50 fatalities in the ToT with her to unlock the third tower of the group and 75 brutalities for the fourth.

Aand for the life of me, I cant figure out how to do her brutalities. I mash 1 and 2 at the auger launch and it doesnt work. The klassic uppercut sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. The slow motion that occurs when the words ''FINISH HIM'' appears fucks up my timing so if Im in the middle of a combo, I drop it. Basically, I dont know if Im just bad (very possible) but brutalities are confusing af

Strange, I've never had any problems with her brutalities. I mash 1 and 2 alternately, and it comes out easily every time. I sort of just slide my fingers across each one quickly. As for "the klassic," you might've just accidentally blocked in the last round.

Obviously I'm having similar issues. The only one I can consistently get is the "Bleeding Out" one (core overload must be active and you finish with b22). Uppercut I can get sometimes and I've never gotten the Augur lunge one to work.

Oh so you can't get bleeding out with the Ice Machine variation since it doesnt have the core abilitY? thats a shame

ok so I figured out a way to do the auger lunge brutality consistently.
After you input the BF4, just slide your thumb across the 1 and 2 button fast and you get it. Dont try to press and lift your thumb and press again. Just slide and it should work lol

As for the uppercut klassic, you can block but you cant block an actual attack. Then as long as the match ends in an uppercut, you'll get it

I think you have to hold 2 as the hit connects and not tap it as well.

So I don't know if this is common knowledge or not, but you can flawless block the second hit of her b+22. I don't want to sound like a downplayer, but that's just so trash. That means you can't even use it as a pressure tool to try and hitconfirm in the neutral. Also, guys like Erron Black can fatal blow between the hits, making the late game really difficult and dangerous. This sucks so bad.

I figured that out on like day 1 and already got the counterplay for it

B2 close bomb thing(don't know the name sorry, the bomb that hits high)

Breaks fatal blow armour and crushes it, can't be flawless blocked, if they attempt flawless block high, it hits them in the gap they would let go of block that would work for b22.

Yes they can block the first hit then neutral duck(no block) the bomb, but then they would just get smacked in the head if you actually went for b22.

This is like, many layers advanced for something that probably won't be an issue til months from now, but there you go. If you truly fear the reactionary FB on your b22, then put in the close bomb every now and then and smack em around. Solid 11~ or so % damage, completely safe from the range you'd use it at even if they block.
