Yesterday, Mortal Kombat celebrated 25 years. 1992 is when it all started. Some of us were there since the beginning and some of us and new and already absorbed into the scene. With this said, there was a press release that came out yesterday while I was at work, so without further ado:

I will leave my seal on you!
Oh man, 25th Anniversary for my favorite all time fighting game franchise, Mortal Kombat!

I still remember seeing MK1 for the first time on Genesis at my Cousin's home, and then my Brother finding MK2 for the PC in a store, and from there, there was no coming back. I played A LOT of fighting games in my life from various franchises: Injustice, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Soul Calibur, Darkstalkers, Street Fighter, Tekken, and some Bloody Roar, Dead or Alive, Dragon Ball Z Budokai, Samurai Shodown, Virtua Fighter and even X-Men Mutant Academy and Red Earth, but none, and I mean none of them did a bigger impact on me then Mortal Kombat. This was the series that introduced me to the genre, this is the series that feature both my 2 all time favorite fighting game characters, Reptile and Scorpion (Reptile higher then Scorpion at first and also now), and this is my all time favorite series of the whole genre!

Cheers to Ed Boon, and also John Tobias, for making such a fantastic series, cheers to NetherRealm Studios for continuing the series and keeping it strong, cheers to both Midway and Warner Bros for opening the doors, and cheers to this community, from the very start up to now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!

Release a port of UMK3 or MKT on next gen consoles! That or bundle one (or both) of them with MK11.

3rd Strike got a great re-release with updated graphics, and a fantastic online experience (GGPO netcode, online ranked, ranked point system, leaderboards, lobbies, etc). UMK3 and/or MKT would be very easy to do the same with and it's essentially free money just waiting to be taken advantage of, tbh.

UMK3 started the tournament era for competitive Mortal Kombat games. It's a no brainer to do some fan service and allow these young guns to experience the glory of these old competitive MK games!

I'm a lover, not a fighter
I think that they should release Rain/Sindel/Baraka as is for free in MKX. They are already in the game. I would not expect them to give them new moves / variations / openings / fatalities / endings etc so they would not need to put much time / money in to it. Even if it was just available for practice mode to avoid any problems. Just release them as is just for a little fun as a thanks to the MK groupies.

I guess they will not do that as there is always some dickhead who would whine about them not having variations or being complete.

mk 1 arcade veteran here. damn, 25 years now...
i got so much storys about that very special time (mk was a huge impact and a very special game in the arcades) but my english is too bad i would only embarrass myself lol. there was no internet or something we discovered the fatalitys by ourself (fun fact, i discovered that you could do cage,s fatality two times in a row lol). there was no smartphones so theres no videos or pictures from that special time. i would love to show you matches from that time, it was super highlevel and hype!!

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
I love the anniversary celebrations, just like Nintendo with their special exclusive consoles, many 3DS's etc. I just wish they had announced an updated MK9, MK X for Switch or M K 4 re-release but I shall never give up hope!

Congrats MK!! MK will never die!
