There was no discussion thread purely for the Turtles' MUs. Let's change that. Post numbers, difficult or easier matchups, etc. below. There are four turtles, so if what you are saying is specific to one, make sure you mention which!

Leonardo:

Manta feels even.
Catwoman feels even.
Scarecrow feels even.
Cyborg feels even/kinda tricky.
Red Hood feels tough
Ivy feels tough
Starfire feels tough
Fate miiiiight be even iunno.

Still so much labbing and playing to do. These are just some opinions. I also think he does fine against the other Turtles.
 
I only play Don currently.
I think he loses to nearly every character in this game. I'm not good with MU numbers but yikes man.
Leo is easily the best turtle.
I think you’re right, he may go even with some of the cast and it’s still early but it seriously feels like he has 0 winning MU’s. Yet he’s still oddly fun to play with. Lol.

He goes even/might beat Canary
Hellboy feels even
Flash is tricky
Harley might be even.

I'm just posting my thoughts. Only thing I'm pretty confident in is that he loses to Bladam and Red Hood.

Okay so:

Bladam: 4-6

Black Adam is kinda difficult to approach in the MU. You constantly have to be mindful of Black Magic and Lightning because our options for dealing with them aren't great. You can use the divekick to cover space but if you overshoot your landing you're in f12 range. He can punish the Mikey assist with Black Magic for full combo which takes away the threat of your mix. He beats us in the damage race pretty badly and he can play footsies in the range we like to play in. We can't wake up with shell ball because even on whiff he just jumps and punishes with Black Magic. Our options after a blocked lightning hands are gaaaaaarbage (I think sweep is our best option). The good things in the MU are that Raph assist beats 90% of the things out of f12xxtrait and if we get him to the corner we can kill him, but that's not enough to turn the tide of the MU.

Atom: 4-6

The lunge move he has punishes Mikey for free. He has the teleport which is pretty decent for getting him out of the corner where we want him, but we can bait it. He's really hard to lock down in the MU. We can't parry the stomp so we can't play as lame as we want, we have to resort to chasing him down and there's so much he can do while running away. We don't have great answers for trait. MB parry works to an extent but it can be beat. It's a MU that seems like you have to play patient, but if you play patient you just risk getting clipped to death by al his random stuff.

What character are you talking about?

Counterpoke with armoured DB2 at all times.
BF3 goes over stomp and even punishes at most ranges if you read it well enough. Whiffed dive kick is also impossible to punish. As Leo you can react to stomp at closer ranges and punish with Mikey trait since Leo goes over the stomp with that too. Bombshell can also be hard to punish sometimes.

Still probably losing though but there are a decent chunk of tools if you are struggling with the MU. Turtles struggle with trait

Leo's probably not dead, he just won't be able to get out of certain frame traps he could before. Probably can't Raph on wake-up either.

Raph against Doctor Fate is pretty rough, won't commit to a number or anything but it feels really bad.

The get hype buff was nice but I'd like to see him maybe get three sais instead of two if you meter burn the taunt.

Try your best to out footsie him and understand where gaps in your strings are (Which is every string for Donnie IIRC) and try to punish him accordingly if he does a reversal. But then he can go for reversal grab instead which you have to neutral jump on a read. Cancelling into some special might break armour if you do it where a gap might normally be.

At least Donnie has the advantage of being able to punish grab from a neutral jump (I think), and does hella damage so the risk/reward is out of Bane's favour if you get the right reads. I also believe BF3 (I think is the move) is also grab immune so pretty good wakeup if so. I don't really see Donnie's trait being an issue at all for Bane minus maybe the no-jumping one but tbh you should be able to anti-air Bane on reaction with that air grab that Donnie has.

To be fair though there's no clear cut answer against Bane here. It basically comes down to "Try to make the right read and beat him to death". Just respect Bane's options, but don't respect them too much lmao.

Your Mediocrity Is Killing Me
I'm looking for the perfect Leonardo secondary that I can put time into to play on a competitive level for when somebody counter picks my Leo. Ideally I want 1 or 2 character(s) that at least go even with: Atom, Black Adam, Doctor Fate, Red Hood and Robin.

My ideas so far is:
Sub-zero, as he does well against Fate, Bladam and Robin, but fall to the other two.
Firestorm, he goes at least even with all but loses to Robin.
Doctor Fate, he does well against all but maybe loses to Bladam (but no too badly)

If anyone has any ideas please let me know, I'd rather this character not lose to Leo himself in case I'm bogged down in the mirror :)

I have picked Leo recently and play more with him (I know he is not top tier but I play for fun) and just collecting information.

I have watched some of your game play (unfortunately did not find too many sets) and I saw you used F4 Mickey as a counter tool even on frame trap (opponent is hit even if you starter hitting you) and it works pretty well. I do not know if it was before the change.

Back in the day, Raph came out no matter what. Like you could be getting hit and Raph would still come out. They changed it so that doesn't happen anymore.

The character is still very strong.

I have just labbed that neither of Mikey and Raph did not come out if Leo was hit during starting frames. So probably I saw "pre-patch" Leos doing it.
I saw Mikey as anti air it seems still viable option (if I press F4 even later then the point where D2 is already stuffed by a jump in Leo still "low profiles" the jump in and Mickey punishes for a pretty conversion).

Leo is fun to play to me however I have not too much success online yet, need more match up and even character experience to play smoothly. I need to accept his weeknesses and play the strenghts.
