TMNT - How will they play? Tag, Trait, Other?

Beware my power, Red Lantern's Light
Really hope trait is a character swap, and that it isn't random. Random effects just don't belong in FGs, wow's trait and enchantress' hex are really bad designs imo.
Idk man. Krillin in DBFZ has a Rock Toss move that randomly generates a senzu bean. If he were to summon a senzu every single time, that would probably be busted thus random sometimes does belong.

Imagine if Enchantress only used the no special spell! Shit would be nuts!

That's exactly why it is bad design though. Don't make it so that there's a 25% chance for a character to just win the game (hyperbole) when using a certain move, make it a completely different move with a balanced effect. Unpredictability in FGs should come from humans playing the game/using different options in different situations, the moves themselves should not be unpredictable/random.

I was under the impression that you only get a senzu bean when you use meter. Is that just wrong?

I think randomness can be fun in fighting games as long as the risk/reward is good and encourages fun gameplay. Wonder Woman is able to get away with some of these buffs because she can't choose which one she gets. Enchantress' Fehu hex is broken but since it only has a 25% chance of coming out it doesn't make her stupid. You end up having to react and adjust depending on what buff/hex comes out and that goes for both the player and the opponent. I think it makes for fun gameplay in these cases.

Or.... it will be one character and move set and we will just have 4 separate premium skins?
Having one be playable while the others are just premier skins would make the least amount of sense considering they all use different trademark weapons and the animations wouldn't match up. An attack animation for a nunchunks is going to be vastly different compared to the same animation used for a bo staff or a dual sword attack.

Senzus are by pattern. It goes Senzu > 3 rocks > Senzu > 3 rocks > Senzu.
He only gets 3 Senzus the whole match be it through assist or using it on point, rest is all rocks and the assist gets his ki blast instead of the Senzus once they run out.

Ginyu's assists also go by order and not random.

Enchantress spell is the only recent move I can think of that's totally random.
Is Hsien-Ko in MvC3 recent enough? her item toss was random but it was a shitty move no what what she tossed but it was there lol.

i do think that mk11 will be a 2on2 tag fighter. if the turtles plays tag team, then they r definitely testing the tag system.

FTR i am saying this for a while.
mk9 tagteam was super fun, it was just broken lol.

They did it with sub zero.

Not really the same thing. Let's say if Leonardo was the default turtle, he normally uses two katana swords. How would that work for Donatello who uses just one bo staff?
They already did a game full of variations and tri-borg. They've proven they can have one model use different set of weapons, animations, and move notations.

This game doesn't have Variations so chances are it will be Trait switch with specific move sets & specials and shared moves & specials like Triborg played or they'll play like a 4 character Noob-Smoke from MK Deception.
Exactly. And another thing is, so far with all of the premier skins none of their moves are replaced in any way nor are they given a completely different move that the default character lacks. So for people to try comparing it to MKX's variation system really isn't the best example.

I realize this is far from likely but I think it would be cool if your turtle was chosen based on what gear you choose in the weapon slot. Not realistic though for tournament play.

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
I'm probably in the minority here, but I actually hope it's like variation a la Tri-borg. It'll probably be trait switch though but I really don't want to be limited playing my favorite turtle honestly. If it's not like MKX Triborg though, I would be fine with MK Deception Noob-Smoke tag, at least I have more control that way.

I want a zoner (As I have done with every dlc lol)

Something fun tho, where the turtles are the projectile. Like Mich rolls along the floor like tremors boulder in mkx or freddys' low glove.

As long it is nothing like inferno scorps, we good

It is better this way
I hope it’s 4 separate turtles you tag between. Each with their own health bar and can take roughly a 4th of the damage of a normal character. They start the match with a shit load of tools because of all of them are there and basically start as the strongest character in the game, but as a turtle is killed, they lose tools and become a weaker character as a result to balance it

They never gave us that Green Arrow hood gear piece that they promised us seven months ago, so I'm thinking we aren't getting any trailer for the Turtles. They'll just sneak them in a stealth-patch. Doesn't NRS have a community specialist? What was his name...Teebo Lacksdale?

I think it’s going to be Leonardo, and he can summon the other turtles for a one or two hit move/combo each that gives different properties, i.e. hkd, popup, combo ender, pressure? Here’s the thing. This character will not be much about zoning, besides Raph throwing his sais into the damn ground in front of his opponents before he ruthelessly batters them, none of the turtles are known for having any sort of projectile, outside of mayyyyybbee don with like an invention. I mean do they use stuff SOMETIMES? Sure, but most of the time it’s up close and personal. I believe this will be the way it is, Leo is the leader and he represents all the turtles so to speak. So he will be the main front runner you play as but I swear the others will be trait moves Idk if anyone else has this idea before I didn’t read but anyway hopefully I’m wrong because the way i
Picture it it’s going to be another cash grab character that’s fucking busty at first to

I don’t know if you’re in the minority, but I share that sentiment.
As someone who’d prefer to have Michelangelo as a starting character, starting with Leo and trait switching him out at the beginning of the match would mean time wasted at the beginning of the match to use the Turtle that I want.

Nice avy ;) Exactly, they have to consider the fact and know that not only are there loads of TMNT fans but everyone likes a different turtle. Though I'm sure Leo, Raph and Mikey will be the most used. I seem to remember a poll way back those 3 were the highest, Donny came in last lol. Poor Don lol.

Thanks. :)

My 2 favorites have always been Don and Mikey, given that they're both pretty laid back in comparison to Raph (who's always on edge / a hot-head) and Leo (in which sometimes his leadership has gotten to his head, so I can sometimes sympathize with Raph).
