PXP A F0xy Grampa wins Hypespotting VI

SneakyTortoise

Official Master of Salt
After a fantastic top 8, unsurprisingly, @A F0xy Grampa stood victorious.

This was to be the last European major before the release of Injustice 2, and, in my opinion, we couldn't have asked for a much better send-off. There was a $5,000 pot bonus on the line (generously donated by NRS and WB studios), and we had some incredible matches:

Madzin brought the hype with Lasher Takeda.
RazoR had a phenomenal showing in his first offline major, eliminating Tekken Master (3-1), claiming a very rare scalp indeed! He certainly takes my pick for MVP of the tournament.
We had IrishMantis hijacking the commentary station to pop off on behalf of RazoR and online warriors everywhere.
And the tournament ended in a classic Madzin vs F0xy grand finals, with a reset that had everyone on the edge of their seats, anticipating shades of VSF4.

The results were:
1st - PxP | A F0xy Grampa
2nd - Madzin
3rd - RazoR
4th - NASR | Tekken Master
5th - Paria | LordSpinal
5th - IrishMantis
7th - cE GK | Youphemism
7th - Durpey

Congratulations to the top 8 for putting on a great show, and especially to F0xy for, once again, proving his dominance.

Congrats to @A F0xy Grampa with a fitting end to close out MKX. Madzin's consistency also apparently never wavered after all this time. Props to @Youphemism as well. Wish I could have seen these matches live, but priorities are hard to follow when you've got a coffee table full of cocaine and a day off work.
Thanks man! Wish I'd done better but MKXL is MKXL *shrugs*

May as well do shoutouts and stuff here:

Thanks to everybody who made it out, shame we couldn't have everybody here but the tournament was awesome and damn hype! Shoutouts to
@xrzxrazor for getting 3rd at his first offline appearance and even beating Tekken Master!
@IrishMantis for the inspiring speech and making top 8 himself as well as having some fun casuals
@xZoro @HappyPow @n0rv1s for coming out to help rep cE alongside me, sucks that more of us couldn't be in top 8 together :( You guys will get them next time I'm sure!
@Zionix for bringing the hype with his Cyrax and helping to commentate top 8, and congrats again on mini Ponk! And to his wife for supplying some awesome character beadworks to some of the guys while they were here :)
@Red King for popping his head over to play for the first time in god knows how long haha
@A F0xy Grampa and @Madzin for doing what they always do!
And even @Yer_Da , @Zeuss and @Scott The Scot for managing to find some time to come and say hello and play a few casuals even though they couldn't make it for the tournament itself :p

And of course to everyone else who turned up to the event and all of you managed to catch the impromptu pools stream as well as watched top 8. It was good to catch up with everyone I'd met before and meet those of you who I hadn't had the chance to meet until now and managed to get some games with, a fun weekend as per. Until next time!

tfw no shoutout from paul for getting you lads a pot bonus and running the entire tournament on my own FeelsBadMan
Saving the best for last mate, I was honestly just about to shout you out separately :DOGE Nah but for real guys this is the man that made the tournament happen, I couldn't have streamed pools and we couldn't have gotten a pot bonus if there weren't any being run! So props to you Shadowplay :D
I want to watch the archive for this tournament, don't get to see people outside of America play that often.

Congrats Foxy! Hope I see alot of neutral crouch under highs in the archives lmao
I'll try to get the pools archive up as soon as I can from my channel, not sure if VersusScotland is uploading their to 8 archive to YouTube as well but I'll ask around. I'll put everything in a thread anyway once it's up and make sure to tag you so you get a chance to see :)
Actually, Mantis won Hypespotting.
This just needs to be shared everywhere, more inspiring than Mel Gibson in Braveheart ;)

I feel like I haven't moaned lately about spoilers.

Is there nothing that is sacred. I get that you had your reason for ruining the Kombat Kup. Maybe it helped get people to watch the last couple top 8's. Maybe it stopped some from watching. I know I didn't bother. As I am sure you have assumed.

But didn't you say you only ruined the Kombat Kup top 8's because they were online events that don't count.
Why did you spoil an offline major.
