General/Other - Sub-Zero Tom Brady going to NEC w/ a vengeance

People have to understand that Tom 'feels' an immense amount of pressure to perform at any tournament he commits himself to.

There are people in the community (such as myself) who want to see Brady there because its hype (win or lose).

And the other part of the community that want to watch him burn in pools and laugh at his misfortune.

Irregardless of whether or not Tom has set himself into this position; it still eats away at him.
I want him there because the guy puts in work, is great on commentary (when he's not emo), and is funny as hell when he really gets into what he's talking about. I respect the guy's passion and dedication and wish him the best. But you can't blame people for busting out the pitchforks and torches when he tried trolling people about not going. At least he cleared the air on the matter.

Ok:

So Tom called, I spoke with him to clarify, and he says he's still going. In that case, I take him at his word.

Tom if you don't this time, I'm coming to lay you out with a giant inflatable boxing glove :p

Best of luck at NEC.
Its dead and buried, but the community perception remains forever changed.

He's still a rock star, but this isn't something he should ever try to pull again.

Brady has gone as far as he can with his current approach. He needs to let go of his ego for a bit and really listen to another high level pro player - like a disciple would listen to a mentor. If he can do that for just a short time, his vision will be forever broadened and he won't be quite so easy to prepare for. He plays flawlessly in terms of action-reaction according to his plan and plays with heart, but predictability holds him back. Right now, he listens for tech and options - but he doesn't really listen. Anyone who knows the game and has crossed paths with him can tell you that.

It would be nice, if some people could actually listen to others. (we know who's who)

I don't know Brady personally, but I would love to play against him to see for myself. My buddies say that he's a wuss compared to Madzin, when he plays.

He is just more defensive than Madzin, just a different style of play/philosophy.

That explains it a lot. If he had Madzin's philosophy combined with his, he would be a good weapon against most of the opponents.

Listening to someone is different than being someone's son for a short time.

I did it with Jersey Jay and later Michura in Madden, but that was well before I had any real success. It would be much harder now since I have had some real success. Its no different for Brady.

He has to recognize that he has stopped evolving with the game and that he needs an infusion of perspective or he's doomed to relive his MKX career in Injustice 2. NRS has re-invented itself with each of its last installments. I expect that Injustice 2 will be no different in this respect. MKX wasn't like MK9 and neither will Injustice 2 be like the first one. Rather than waiting for a game to come around to his approach, he needs to change his approach - and the best and fastest way to do that is to tell yourself you know nothing for a while so you can really embrace a new approach. Then, find a mentor that you respect and try to see things as he or she sees them. Finally, when you re-introduce what you already knew - you will reach a new level of adaptation.

Except that injustice 2 is going to be legacy to igau1 which means it should play and feel extremely similar to the first one. Mkx was not a legacy game to Mk9, they are completely different gameplay wise.

I have no inside information on this one, but I have a strong feeling that the meta of two games will not resemble each other all that much.

What is more important than "legacy" is who is making the decisions and who is seeing these decisions through. From that perspective, much has changed. This project is much bigger.

I agree that it wont be "the same game" as we already know that it will have faster walkspeeds and a few new gameplay mechanics but I think it is a far cry to say igau2 will be as different from igau1 as mkx was to mk9. Either way though there will be some level of growing pains for igau1 players, I just think that since there will be legacy characters with legacy moves you will likely see a much smoother transition. Mkx using uncancellable dashes, stamina and run mechanic is a MASSIVE change from mk9's dash cancel system. Even with a faster walkspeed i dont think that igau2 will introduce any universal gameplay mechanic/change as polarizing difference wise as the ones in mkx vs mk9.

I think the divide will be even greater.

God dam man everyone else on this site trolls till the cows come home lol i do it ONE TIME and people throw a shit fit lol come on mannnn. As far as streams go if i acted like Tom i'd be more popular apparently (he gets 300 people watching him delete the game like seriously ?? LOL ) but i cant bring myself to that level.
Ive seen your stream. Don't be like that dude. Be successful at your craft. Not by comparison with his.
