Question - Quan Chi What is his current best variation?

After the latest patch Quan chi did get some changes, Universally b2 became a mid and f4 was his new overhead. Sorcerer did loose his guaranteed chip setups due to mb skull now only +6 (no longer jails), Warlock still has his good counter zonning and mb stab however the mb stab sometimes doesn't hit due to shitty tracking. Summoner didn't really change and still has strong zonning/vortex. But what do you guys think is his current best variation and why i know its matchup based but what variation is slightly better or the best?

It is better this way
Maybe it's just me but I get mixed harder than Quan now more than ever. B2 being a ranged overhead wasn't really that big of an issue, out side of B3 range there wasn't really a reason to change your block pattern and block low. He's still very much the same Summoner as pre patch but the universal changes made him better tier wise imo even if he personally got "nerfed".

i personally disagree.
Also i have to go with sorcerer. I feel like you need a lot more match up knowledge to deal with his tools than you need with summoner and you have to hold more stuff with him than with summoner IMO

Sorcerer > Summoner > Warlock

My opinion based on MU experience. lol I didn't give a shit about Sorcerer back when armored launchers were a thing. d4~EX db1 blew up Sorcerer's armor. =P

But Sorcerer is a beast in its own right. Ugh. -.-

i do see how the removal of armored launchers does help sorcerer even more with his armor portal, however alot of characters do now have 2+ hits of armor

I've been playing a lot of Sorcerer recently and I definitely think he's just as good as Summoner, if not a bit better.

Right now Sorcerer and Summoner are just as good in their own right though in my opinion and Warlock... Is just shit.
Yeh i agree both summoner and sorcerer do a good job, however i feel that summoner is more meter dependent than sorcerer

It seems like Dink and Iluusions still use Warlock some in tournament.

F3 is still a great move, despite the other decisions NRS made with the variation. :/

To me, what got me about B2 was at range it was like "Okay block high from back here" but then from that fear of the overhead from that range, allowed Quans to just run in B3. Now it's like okay at least I know he has to get in now for that

Quan isnt armor breaking, he absorbs the hit so moves with multiple hits of armor dont beat quans armor.

Definitely Summoner. The best zoning, pressure, damage and has access to htbs. I only use sorcerer and it is also very strong, although i struggled to apply the chip spell prepatch so i dont really think it has much use in this version of the game, armour in the corner with + 50/50s and high damage though...
Give Warlock armoured scoop back and there will be more reason to choose him. I also think f3 and 21f3 should be a hkd but thats just me.

The chip spell is still very strong. you still get upwards of 50% in the corner for two bars from all his main starters and midscreen upto 45% for two bars. The setup is different but the result is the same. In fact id say its better. I see many people saying chip setup is bad now because of ex skull. i came up with a new better setup.
I am at work so i cant go into detail now but I will make a thread later on today.

I never really used it on the last version of the gake either. you have to have 2 bars for it to be worth using over armour imo, and i prefer to keep my meter for ex rune/skulls and breaker

f3 is definitely still a great move in many ways but it still suffers from bad tracking just like his mb stab, which most of the time feels like a waste of a bar

How to fix most tracking moves in MKX:

Step 1 - Make start up slower to compensate for step 2.
Step 2 - Make hit occur the same frame than tracking is calculated/make the attack have its origin based on the opponent's model, not on his coordinates (with the animation being almost instant so a running opponent doesn't make things like the portal stab look goofy moving after them).

Profit. It would help Warlock a lot along as many other characters.
