Plz explain me the last 3 dots in general gameplay fixes.
You are no longer able use specific timing to avoid recovery frames on some jump attacks which used weapons
I believe this means that you can still get trip guarded when you use some of the really good jump attacks in the game
Reduced the victim blockstun along with the attacker block recovery on many moves (keeping the same +|- on block advantage)
This means some of those moves that were supposed to be punishable, but weren't really becase you're stuck in blockstun forever (like Kotals overhead sword and Jax's oh dash punch etc.) don't leave you stuck as long so punishing is easier
WBID unlocks no longer have additional requirements
just signing into a WBID means you get all the mobile unlocks, so it's just free costumes and player badge stuff

First time able to see the changes... AND HOLY MOTHER OF PATCH BATMAN!!

Still have to review all the changes, but happy with the ones I've seen. I dig the Shinnok buffs. Not sure about the nerfs though, and the change to the shoulder is interesting to say the least.

I only see minor nerf to jumping (1 frame? really?) might be a poor wording of course, but if thats what it looks like, then jumps will be EXTREMELY OP now when all means to defeat them (armor) are gone.
So, armor is still a thing, and now with everything having two hits means if you anti-air extremely late you'll still blaze through whatever the opponent does on landing. You just don't get the full combo by armoring. On the other hand...

I'm pumped about this change because it means if you already have active frames hanging out then you should anti air every time. It doesn't matter how good sonya, kotal, and sub zeros hitboxes are. I'm scared that all the good jump attacks have so many active frames that they'll still be hard to beat. At leas NRS are trying (in their own way) to give us ground priority vs air normals.

Does anyone know if this affects divekicks, teleports and the like as well?

No, this is 100% a nerf.

She already had the mixup prepatch, but now it's less effective since she can be poked out of it. QB being -1 is a massive nerf as is 1 cancel on block and the stamina changes meaning she won't be able to get in (and when she does she won't be able to pressure yay). Changes to cancel advantage of qb also mean that 114, 121, b3 (and potentially b2?) no longer jail into anything. I think the b14 will still retain is jail although it'll be much tighter.

Ahh well. It is what it is. Even though they've completely destroyed my character I'm excited for the entirely fresh meta! Who knows, there's every chance I'm reading this wrong and high tech will still be a great character. Either way I'm excited to see how everything plays out :).


Funniest (as in most humorous) change has got to be the nerf to brood mother's damage though. That's just friggen hilarious.
At least they loosened up brood mother's links and gave f3 more cancel advantage

If you don't understand why this kills Wargod, you don't know a damn thing about kotal.
i am seeing that Everyone across the board lost Cancel PRessure, Armored Laucnhers and most Strong mids that had pushback and they Made them High instead for some reason. Also my thoughts on this is.

With All Armored Launchers being Nerfed, AA's being Buffed, and every character finally getting the same treatment. i feel if you are a Kotal or Mileena main, you may feel that you got screwed, but realize that we will have a long time to practice these patches, and tiers are an unknown at this time. Mayny mechanics have been changed, Run's altered and Offensive pressure has been nerfed, the fact that we lose Stamina on hit will keep people out more often.


Armored launchers:

your character is not the only one effected. this may be a good change, adn could buff Zoinging together with Buffed AA's and Nerfed Stamina. if your character lost it like KEnshi and relies on it for defense remember its not a nerf when everyone lost them,, and could possibly turn out to be great when we relearn our characters.
the thing i know for sure, is everyone and there mains lost all knowledge about there fighter after the patch. and now we are all at Square one. noone knows anything from this day on.


AA's being buffed:

this is a massive Buff to Space Control and Zoning, and i love it. this can make many characters like Kenshi better, and Quan chi's OH Slash nerf makes alot more sense. he is gonne be that monster at zoning. he now should have the capability to utilize Zoning and Space control. noone can use Armored launchers on him to get in, and Stamina is nerfed. most likely if they run from full screen they can't combo and might end up short before they reach there.


Stamina Nerf:

This is a huge Change in how Offense is used. and nerfs Cancel Pressure, Rushdown, Mixups, and Fullscreen and Midscreen punishes with Run. great for Zoners.




I know some of you lost Mids: does this mean they are done?

not nessisarily, why am i saying this. well. everyone got changed and how the game works is worlds different from what the meta was Prepatch. Mids are strong and could play a differnt role in this game now. High could be stronger with no Armored Launchers. and realize everyone got this nerf. i know nerfs to our characters feel personal and it may make you feel like you got treated unfairly but i think Kotal and many other will do just fine. i know this. Top Mid and Low tier is not what we thought it was. and quit possibly everyone might be in Mid Tier or A+ now. i think they have done a great job and this was certainly a strange way to go about it. but im gonna stay positive and see through time what it means for each character and Each matchup. and how the pace of the game is for each character is now.

Also it seems the 10/4/2016 Patch on the Web is not updated as of now and there is many things to be added like Tyler and Boon said there would be. it will take time.

Guys the coolest thing about this patch is! the game has been MAssivly prolonged, characters are different, many lower tier Variation are now relevant, and we have alot to test and learn and plenty new things to do. from here on out. at least 6 months of new tech to learn.

I know myself i will have to go from one character to the next for the next comming months.

@Tanno hey doggie did i not call this shit or what i said. Mixups will stay and Launchers will go. i didnt actually expect all armored launchers but i nailed it on the head. Looks like Cyrax lost his HTB's thats right. since there is double Armor now on everyone. Cyrax has no Armor break setups and no HTB's its all gone. so he is gonna need a shit tone of buffs to recooperate from this. but honestly im not sure as of now and take that foot note with a grain of salt becaus ei havent even tested him yet. i may find a way to break 2 hit armores who knows. and he might have some great shit. im also afraid that Cyrax lost F13/B3/B1 into Net because they reduced the Hit advantage of F13. but who knows till i test.

2 years in and NRS drops a new meta game on us? Tha FUCK! I've never once griped about this game played it serious as all hell it's first year out. I mean traveled paid money for big tourneys, even started up the local Chico Fight scene and hosted Battleborn 1 and 2 that had a better turn out than NCR for MKX!

But this just pisses me off. NRS did not have balances in mind when this was done. Simply dropped a new meta on us 2 years into the games life. The past 2 years I spent playing this game mean nothing now. It's awesome and exciting if you can stay home all day and play and do the time and master the new meta but I work like a mofo and have a daughter.

This would have been fine if it was a new game would have welcomed something new and exciting but this was to drastic for a game 2 years in. Everyone has their opinion but my take on this is, the changes to the armored moves was too much. There was so much time put into busting armors, set-ups FUCK there is just too much different now.

And for fucks sake why remove ex gotcha grab armor. Literally in 1 fell swoop murdered heavy weapons and just Jax all together in my opinion. (My personal note for jax nerfs)

just a question guys i said on Stroms thread what i thougbh all together about the changes . and how i think it can be a good thing and how certain nerf are probably not nerfs sinc eit waS UNIVERSAL AND HOW HIGHS COULD BE STRONGER IN THIS META WITH NO lAUNCHING aRMOR AND LESS STAMINA TO ABUSE.

but @YOMI REO @Tanno @Apex Kano @anyone. does anyone actually think 2BAR launchers will actually be viable. iut seems to be from my point of view that it won't do enough damage to be cost effective?

i seen Mileena did a EX roll that did 10% and her EX roll into Meter burn for a second bar only did 14% thats 2 bars for 14% and with Scaling how the fuck will that be worth it. for two bars at minimum id have to get 45% to even be okay with spedning two bars right?

what do you guys think of the 2 Bar Lanchers?
and what is everyones thought on Double hitting Armor's?
and Nerfed Offense and what it means for the game?

It think the jumping weapons attack refered to some attacks like Kenshi's where the attack that supposedly should give less cancel advantage, could be delayed to jail into some moves.

At least I know I would jail it into Kenjutsu's 50/50 if executed right at the end only with JI1 when JI2 supposedly should be better for that.

I beleve 100% different han you on this topic.

I think yes they screwed alot of characters, but ata same time it was universal changes. so maybe its not a bad thing, then they very well might have done this to Prolong the life of the game and at same time tried to buff Zoning and other aspects and take away from Opressive Rushdown. and did it in a strange way ill admit.

But as of Today, noonw is a master of anycharacter. The meta is different. and the Tier list is none exsistant. untill we have more thsan a month of Practice with the actual new game. we can not say anything is bad or good. We have no clue what character is stronger than the next because everything is different. Think about it. With Stamina Nerfed, RC's and AA's Buffed and ARmored Launchers Nerfed. the meta is different. and Highs may be a strong tool with no option to EX Launch in Neutral? characters who lost mids may very well still be great. and same goes for everything. i was a little mad about EX Launchers being gone. But who knows it may make the game much more balanced and they might have brang Top to Mid and Bottom to Mid who knows?

NRS has always done Drastic patches. but maybe they got it right. think of things like MAny Shitty Variations are now Relevant, alot of Dirt is Gone. HTB's are Removed! thats right HTB's are gone. there is no Armor Breaks anymore because of the 2 Hit's of Armor Moves. yoiu can keep fullscreen opponents out, and possibly they can't run fullscreen and Combo you or mix you up, they very well might run out of Stamina before?

What do you guys think about:

Nerfed Stamina and how it effects the Zoning and Space Control?
Nerfed EX Launchers and how it effects the MEta?
Buffed AA's?
Double Hit Armors and how will that change game plan Wakeups, and MEta Strategy?


Also guys i think they might have added a few years of shit to the game. Combos to learn, Variaitons and Characters to relearn, New MEchanics to get used to. Zoning! and so much more with this patch and they are gonna do follow up patchs. Im hella excited. and i think it might be Great? whats your thoughts?
