General/Other - Balanced Balanced Chnages for the Oct. 4th patch

As some of you may or may not have already seen, Balanced Kenshi will be getting a buff to where his ex overhead slice now launches and can be followed up with a teleflurry. I'm a potato, so I don't know how to post the GIF demonstrating this. What are your thoughts on this? I think this is a very good start for this variation.

Ex overhead slash was useless, this was very needed. But of course he needs much more. Specially if they plan to remove armor from certain launchers, which is still to be confirmed.

If that was the case and he loses armor from exrisingkarma (or loses combo followup potential) he would need A LOT to compensate that.

I'm sure Kenshi mains are shitty about the possible removal of standing armor.

But tbh if they only remove armor on launchers, he'll have one of the better moves that retain armor, in EX push.

Idk about that buff, though. Who will get hit by that?
If they remove the launching capabilities from ex rising karma, that'll definitely hit Balanced pretty hard. We'll still have ex push, but he got some amount of respect with ex rising karma. As to the buff, people get hit by it, but I would like faster startup on it.

Yeah but if they only remove it on launchers, he'd keep a good non-launching armored move.

Some characters will have nothing, as far as armor in the neutral goes. This might actually be a buff to Kenshi tbh.

Nah we're just thinking that they might remove armor on non-wake up armored launchers, or armored moves in general. EX rk will still launch for sure.

I don't want to rush conclusions, but making armor launchers weaker or seminonexistent seems to benefit offensive game, and not defensive, at least from Balanced perspective.

What would stop people from going ham towards him if his armor just did 14% as ex push? If his close up game is the same, he is in clear trouble.

Why are people thinking this? I haven't seen any indication of this, so is it just conjecture or have I missed some announcement?

There is room for a lot more changes, block breakers could cost a bar, backdashes could not cost stamina and Kenshi could get a real backdash, universal jump in nerfs... that Reptile gif really opens this up to a huge overhaul. I think NRS finally realized that Mkx was stale as shit being a mash armor and do full speed offense game and wants to really revitalize the game to try to have it coexist with I2

Ah, hadn't seen that one. Well, I guess we'll see how that works out on Monday.
If I had to make a bet, exrisingkarma will have armor, and launch but just for teleflurry followup unless you are facing the corner. Just like possessed exdb1. In exchange, it might be safe on block too.

Because nobody expected that for reptile and it pretty much does not make sense unless it's a general change across the roster.
I get that it doesn't make sense, whatsoever. But the thing is NRS make changes that don't make sense all the time, that's more likely than them changing everyone's armored launchers.

Either way I think it's way too late for changes that big. If they were gonna commit to game-changing-changes they should have probably done it a bit earlier. There's too much that can go wrong and the fact this is the last patch means there's no chance to correct it. Better late than never though I suppose.

I agree with you, such a radical change, if it happens, it's very risky at this point, plenty of things can go wrong and end up with a game more unbalanced. Specially if this is meant to be the last patch... which might not be the case...who knows.

I think people are just overreacting to that big time. They changed 1 character, why people think armored launchers across the whole cast are gonna get nerfed is beyond me.
especially when it's to a character who already has SIX frame armor.. I mean, he never really NEEDED the ex claw swipe, did he? He already had the fastest armored move in the game..

Okay now that tweet sways my feelings a bit, that's very interesting. Makes more sense why people think it's a universal armor nerf now, we'll just have to wait and see.

I was saying this exact thing in the dvora forums. If they remove launching armor both dvora and cage would virtually have nothing to fear when pressuring people on wake up. I feel the same way.
