[Sept, 10-18, 2016] GET Fighting Game Tournaments (Thessaloniki, Greece)

Tanno

The Fantasy is the Reality of the Mind

4 days from now, there will be the Fighting Game Tournaments in the Global Expedition of Thessaloniki (GET), which takes place in the heart of Thessaloniki city, in Greece. This particular event is the biggest in the Balkans, and everyone around the world come here to do their own expeditions, but for you guys we kept a special event. The fighting game events!

The organizer will be CowboyTV, a renowned name in the Greek gaming world and in eSports. Its base is in Athens and has organized previous events, such as this upcoming one. The e-gaming is the Greek EVO and is known to many Greek gamers, like us.

The program for the fighting games will be the following:

10th September:
12:30 - 20:00 - Mortal Kombat XL

11th September:
12:30 - 20:00 - Super Smash Bros Wii U

17th September:
12:30 - 20:00 - Tekken Tag Tournament 2

18th September:
12:30 - 20:00 - Street Fighter V

The streaming will be the following:

Greek official site of e-gaming
http://www.egaming.gr/eg/streams/

Twitch
https://www.twitch.tv/e_gaming

WARNING: This will be like EVO, because there involve other NON-fighting games and other events, including music event, cosplay, etc, therefore I don't know if they will stream the fighting games.

I just added all the fighting games in the program, because I know that some of you play other fighting games than MKXL.

Enjoy! :)

The notice is too short :/ Can't afford to get there :'(
@Nivek For the 1st time I see a Greek event lol
Yeah, It just got out this week. They're still having the site under construction. There will be indeed the prizes, but didn't update the OP due of having them as "TBA".

There have been other Greek events, like the Fatal Bloodbath. Search for the Fatal Bloodbath here in the forums, that @Nivek and @Metzos uploaded a while ago.

Sorry for the downgrade @Tanno , but a 100euro minus 24% tax (aprox 75euro) first place is not EVO class tournament.. and the tournament was announced almost month before.. but not the prizes (which was a huge disappointment, especially if you don't live there)!
Maybe it is big for the PC games but the fighting games exist in the background.. they are not gonna stream pool/top64/top32/top16/top8/top3 ... they gonna stream MAYBE Grand finals. Last years Thessaloniki Grand finals were uploaded by a phone and not by stream..

Also it is awful to organise the first 2 f.games at the beggining of the event and the other 2 f.g. 5-6 days later.. that's why for my first time i wont go.
I hope it is understandable..

I see. I understand that very well, mate. Hope to see you in Athens later on, when the Fatal Bloodbath will occur.

!
I lold.

How is this like EVO? With 10f+ delay monitors, bad organisation, 100 euro prizes, improper setups along with many things, not even mentioning the fact that it's not in the city where the biggest amount of FG players are? And the FGs won't even be streamed? Haha, Jesus.

You don't have proper;

Setups
Location
Prize
Stream
Priorities

I understand you're a business and you have to promote your event. But please don't try to feed the same BS that you feed Greek casuals, on this site too.

I'm not a business person. Just thought of sharing this event here, like everyone else here do. And I'm not the organizer there. It's their own fault for not completing this whole site there. And I know one thing for sure. That Athenians do have a organization problem there, tbh.

-_-

My bad then.

The organisation problem isn't just in Athens though. It's only evident here because this is where the main competitive playerbase is. Competition in Thessaloniki is much smaller and without knowledge of e.g frame data so it's easier to get away with things like laggy monitors.

I know about the laggy monitors. If not for @MadeOfMetal , I wouldn't know about this MANY laggy monitors outside in the market. Between us, here in Thessaloniki, we do mini tournies just for the fun, not the casual ones.

I only hope we get to grow much larger like in other countries.

and you would be surprised here in the US how many Online players have no clue about frames. its so easy to beat people online, all you have to do is wait for them to use dumb moves that are unsafe or step out of turn and i mean everyone online does this even if they don't realize it.
