More MKX DLC Konfirmed; Koming First Half of 2016

I'm kind of new to being good, but I've been pretty obsessed with the game - so its hard to know.

I really do improve every few days. I see where I can get better and I put in work.

I really do think that the 3D characters were really underrated. Sure, there was absolute shockers like Hsu Hao, Kobra and Darrius, but there were REALLY strong characters / character concepts like BRC, Ashrah, Lei Mei, Kenshi (clearly the most successful), Frost etc etc. I hope these characters appear in the series again in the future.

Actually, I think Ashrah in particular would work well with the variation system by breaking down the three main parts of her character eg Holy Redemption, Kriss and Demon form. I think this would be really cool.

Some guy in the thread even asked why people want Havik, who is one of the most unique characters from the 3D era.

I played the shit out of each 3D game (even more than I played the original trilogy) but even I acknowledge that most of the new characters were complete and utter Shit. Even at the time the majority were quite unappealing and forgettable.

I only ever liked Tanya, Kai, Fujin, Reiko, Kenshi, Havik, and Ashrah to be honest. Shout out to Drahmin whom I liked in design but couldn't get into his playstyle and Quan Chi/Shinnok/Sareena which I only appreciated with Armageddon.

Why is BRC the most competent decision? Mind to elaborate.
I mean tlots of characters not int MKX have a larger fanbase, he is irrelevant to the story & they are lots of ppls who hate his guts... like really hate. Baraka maybe has less fans... but he also has less ppls that fullout hate him.

I would take your pack though if you remove BRC and Reiko.
Yeah I guess you're right when it comes to this, because at the end of the day this discussion falls all to personal preference. Any 3D era kharacter could work if redesigned, be it a major or minor redesign, the kharacters just can work somehow. But I really can't say objectively why Bo is a better choice than Baraka...

What I can say though is that the franchise barely contemplates long time fans that stood for MK even in, as people judge it, "the shitty dark 3D era", because even in a base roster it's unlikely we see Tanya or Bo which were very popular in these later games. Now I just wish they would try and put more of a risk roster in this game, try to put more kontent for people that are waiting since 2006 for another Li Mei or Ashrah or Havik appearance instead of pressing endlesly with the same kharacters over and over. Now Reiko and Havik are dead, this game might as well have been their last chance. I very much doubt they'll ressurect them for some random reason like they'd do to any MK9 kharacter. Sucks but that's how it is. I love Baraka and he's one of my favorite kharacters, but as I see he should have been in the base roster. I'd put him, Rain and Fujin in place of Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana very easily, they'll obviously show up in the next game anyway, Baraka though I'm not so sure...

Even then, it's my personal preference, and I really can't say they are more competent for adding Bo and not Baraka, aside from recognizing how they see they have some very different fans out here.

Smoke ideas:

Shadow of Night: or Stealth Assassin

This variation could be based on Stealth Ninja tactics.
Shuriken Stab: Bleed stab move, Special that can only be linked on the end of 2 combos, that would cause DOT effect, maybe 0.80 per second. could be from one stashed on his arm or in hisfist.
Smoke bomb projectiles: could add a restand if done at the right moment and range! this could allow continued juggles/combos. Scaled right would be fair.
His spear is back in combos to bring them close to him at end.


shake: Smoke stands in place and surrounds himself with smoke, if a projectile touches him, Smoke will counter attack. This can be charged.
The enhanced version is called Vibration. Not only can it counter projectile but it can now counter most melee attacks with the exception of low melee attacks and OFC X-rays. It can also be charged.

Fog - mist: variation 2

a special that throws a disorienting mist/fog to stun the opponent for follow up combos.
medium ranged attacks, with OH/Low starters.
enhanced version of Teleport, Parry, Smoke bomb, invisability.


Enenra, a demonic creature composed entirely of smoke and vapor. variation 3

in this variation he is Enrenra, he has a demonic look and his head looks different.
His face changed has alien like vapor skin. creature like... maybe small changes so this variation would not be so different. but maybe smoke and mist surrounding him, and his eyes could be red or glowing, evil version.

Mele: version, mixups, super fast startup frames,


gap closers that allow followup jugles, like mist/smoke forward/backwards teleport but fast enough on recovery to follow up with juggle, only when linked on successful (hit) strings.
Oh starter
Low starter
4-6 hit strings with low or oh in middle of them.

Enenra mode(special) makes select strings faster for 2 seconds. has cooldown

fast safe on block mid strings advancing, similar to cassies B124 range.

this would be the bruiser variation in your face.

some special that has a mist that swirls around him, giving him a damage buff, on startup it has armor during startup to recovery frames( like F/T's Pain and Gain)

But one of his Zoning soul attacks ( maybe even ex version only) and his command grab soul steal also grant him Souls that fly around him Like Lao's tempest hat spin on the 3rd he gets increased range soul steal. Also in this variation he teleports turning into green soul-mist, like smoke safe on recovery.

3. I like the name SOULFIRE, so I will go with it, it will revolve around his projectiles. His zoning tools are again fire and skulls but they don't work like viable zoning tools but more like tools for creating set ups (like his skulls can travel slow, come from the sky and from the ground, the ground one can even work like timed explosives) and they now burn opponent for additional damage overtime, his soul steal command grab now works differently - it does more damage and Shang actually lifts the opponent up and burns him instead of stealing a part of his soul not into air but a lift off ground. normal ground skulls are low hit, they cause a burn on hit that stuns them for a short period, which allows you to connect another ground or air skull. Ex version of ground skull stuns on block for a short time, allowing only a forward skull or air skull for run in timing if close enough. Ex and normal ground skulls pull them closer, while air-skulls and forward skull push away. His teleport would became Freddy like in this variation(love this idea)! his soul steal in this variation pulls them towards you.

i would love to have Shang tsung in MKX, he would be so much, fun, however they make him i would be overjoyed to see how he turns out in this Engine version

Yeah!! They are taking so much time to do the DLC so it is better not just be story characters, but characters that are important to MK lore in general and Shang is a must have character. The only MK 1 character missing in mkx (I am counting kuai lung as Sub-Zero, because Bi Han in mk1 was basically this character). In any Shape or form he has to make it in the game!!(see what I did here!???;)! )Maybe we should create a separate thread with a request for Shang as DLC for MKX?!:))

yes i have ones for several characters including smoke, sindel, baraka, stryker and others.. go ahead and start it, then tag me ill make first post with smoke ideas, and others

Yea... but these are all point that dont matter... not just cuz these event dont exist in the current timeline but.. also... cuz... story doesnt really matter for storyless character DLC.

Anyway.. even accouting for that... he is a good guy that did some good deeds and had impact through others. So why dont we let him keep doing what he is good at? Being in the background training people and helping others out. Its a win for everybody. :p

Oh... and the bodily fluids and stuff is the main reason ppls dont want to see him ever again ;)
The simple point was that obviously NRS like the character a lot to give him such a notable appearance and make him memorable (granted, not exactly in the best way at times)...perhaps even more so than some of the Trilogy era folk who even appeared in the same game as Bo but with less importance. ;)

Brace yourselves. Because one day, sooner or later, Bo will be back. Better than ever.

And on that day, I shall rejoice.

Bo'Rai Cho at the end will always be the master figure of MK, abandoning Outworld ages ago to train Earthrealm warriors so they could stand a chance against the emperor's threats. We'll see how he's developed. I'm pretty sure now that Rain, Fujin and Bo are part of the pack, the only mistery for me is that "Baraka" that some details say otherwise...

Anything Bo did prior to that is still canon like his training with Liu Kang. MK9 even adds to his story prior to MK1, stating that he trained the Great Kung Lao himself.
Exactly. Also note that Vogel himself confirmed everything that happened prior to MK1 (10th tournament) is still canon.
