Practical BnBs (Hit-confirmable launchers, with reliable execution requirements)

Disclaimer: These are practical, rather than max-damage. If you are a "combo master" and can reliably execute combos which are more difficult/tighter than these for slightly higher damage, enjoy. But by 'practical' I generally mean BnB's you probably won't drop in the heat of a tournament set and can connect in your sleep.

(njp = nj1 or nj2; jik = jump forward 3, but in some cases jump forward 4 will work as well)

Note: Against Ferra/Torr specifically, you will need to substitute b2~tele for b12 tele, as b12 tele will whiff.

great combos, ive discovered some of the same ones myself, in addition, i think you might wanna add (to the shirai ryu section) that you can use b2,1 as a ~70% screen starter into en spear, if you're farther than sweep distance you can also cancel it into ex kunai and follow up with a tp and finish the combo with njp, ji3 xx air spear

edit: also might wanna add that the en spear combos can be started with b3 if you're feeling cocky

You'd be surprised how often that works. Most of his starters are about spacing and control. I've conditioned so many to block the overhead and take the b3.

Shirai Ryu

Some of these combos can be started with a b3~EXspear (low starter) or a b21~EXspear (overhead starter) in place of a jip.

jip, 44~spear (25%) If you can't pull this combo then stop playing MKX.

jip, 44~EXspear, b21~tele, 33~spear (42% crazy easy) 35% when starting with b3~EXspear. 37% when starting with b21~EXspear.
b3~EXkunai, tele, f122+4~ spear (36%)
The timing is a little tricky with the f122+4 and being able to land the spear but with practice it is possible. You're also going to let the full f122+4 string ride. If you have trouble with the f122+4 then just sub it for a 33~spear to finish the combo.(still 35%.)
jik~tele, 33~EXspear, b21~tele (35%)
This next one requires some kinda strict timing.
jip44~EXspear, tele, njp, jik3~air spear (44%) Can start with b21~EXspear for overhead starter (38%) or a b3~EXspear for 37%

This isn't really relevant to this thread but after i finish a combo I sometimes throw a mid kauni out. Its only avoidable by a wake-up with armor or has to be dodged with a tech roll. Of course it can be blocked but if they get wise hit em with a b21 instead of a mid kunai and start another combo. A far kunai will hit if they tech roll. You can also EXkunai for a combo starter. Do I hear Takeda vortex?

Can some one explain to me why I'm not getting the tele off on these kombos?

f12,2+4(first hit)~tele, 33~spear (24%, dead easy)
f12,2+4(first hit)~tele, 33~fist flurry (23%, easy, close hard knockdown)
f12,2+4(first hit)~tele, nj2, throw (23%, throw ender)

Does the + mean at the same time? Cause i'm doing that and the teleport doesnt come out ever. But I have no problems with

44,ENbf1(spear),tele,334 (36%)

Yea the 2+4 means you press them at the same time.

+ does mean at the same time. The combo has 4 hits but essentially 3 separate button combinations, (f1)(2)(2+4). You can interrupt the combo by teleporting after the 3rd hit.

Thanks I finally got it, I guess I have to be more precise with my dpad inputs as it seems like the game was interpreting that i was entering down diagonal 2 every time i tried the tele

Serious Question: Is there an aversion to uppercuts? I'm not seeing any but I have been connecting this one consistently and I drop combos all the time.

SHIRAI RYU

4,4~EX bf1, b2,1~db3, d2. 39%
(add a jip for an extra percent)

The d2 is so much easier (for me) to connect than the other enders, and it does more damage. Do we not use it because there is no hard knockdown?

Side note, instead of uppercut, you can opt to throw at the end of a match for that 38% brutality swag.

I'm not sure what you mean by doing more damage. Most of his standard BnBs do about 2% less damage when ending with d2 instead of the typical 33~spear enders, and 3% less than 33~fist flurry.

For example that combo you posted (while not a BnB) does 41% with the usual ender instead of d2.

Really? I was only looking at the percentages in the OP and didn't see any that high. Looking again though, I also see none of those combos posted start with 44. Thanks for the clarification.

The Takeda Tech Leech
change b21~EN spear, b21~tele, 33~spear/fist flurry to
b21~EN spear, b2~tele, 33~spear/fist flurry

larger character such as ferra/torr will fall out of the b21xxdb3 but not b2xxdb3. this is true for all combos that follow this pattern
combo is reduced by less than one percent

These are the best BnBs I could find (for Shirai Ryu). There are probably better ones. I listed one for each ender (throw, 334, fist flurry, spear, and air spear). If you can end with air spear I omitted throw cuz it's the same thing but does more damage.

ok I updated my post. When doing b21 teleport against Ferra/Torr you have to delay the teleport slightly to get it to connect. It's not too hard once you get the timing down. For the b3 EX Kunai b21 combo on females you have to pause before doing b21 (otherwise the 2nd hit whiffs). Also the first anti-air combo is inconsistent on females.
