Factions (who is in which?)

So, we all know that the online in MKX is going to having something called a faction war. And there are all these different factions that people will be able to work toward making the dominant faction in the game. However, of the characters that we know to be in the game (shoutous to "confirmed"), it seems like some of the factions, aka lin kuei, could be hurting for members... It also seems that there should be others factions for characters like kotal and mileena.

That said... where do we think the different characters will land?

Lin Kuei:
- Sub Zero

Brotherhood of Shadows:
- Quan Chi
- Shinnock (Assuming he's in)
- Kitana*
- Jax*
- Jason? lmao

* Assuming these characters will be in here because of their being dead status (kitana, jax)

White Lotus:
- Kung Lao
- Kung Jin
- Raiden
- Liu Kang (Assuming he's in)

Special Forces:
- Sonya Blade
- Cassie Cage
- Jacqui Briggs
- Takeda Takahashi
- Johnny Cage
- Kenshi

Black Dragon
- Kano

Seems like there should be one for "Outworld" and these characters would fall under that
- Kotal Kahn
- Dvorah
- Erron Black
- Reptile
- Ermac
- Mileena
- Goro
- Ferra/Torr

No Faction?
- Scorpion

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Also in the comic doesn't Scorpion work with Takeda and Kenshi too?

Haven't read the comics so I don't know!

That's why I'm wanting you all's opinions.

Kenshi could very well be special forces since his son is and he's working with them in the story. So I suppose Johnny Cage could go in Special Forces as well, but I thought I remembered him saying something like "They're allowing me to tag along" so I thought he may not exactly be special forces.

Kenshi and johnny Cage are not in white lotus, most likely both with special forces or not in one at all(but help special forces)

Scorpion isnt in brotherhood of shadow, he's not in a faction,

and yes he trained Takeda, also kenshi helped him be happy with his humanity after the netherrealm war

Most people from the game arn't actually in a faction

Kenshi has been a Special Forces member and is seen as one in the story mode. Johnny being married (and then divorced) by Sonya ties into him also joining Special Forces, hence the vest and outfit.

These 5 are just the top 5 popular factions in Mortal kombat and its just a represention of who u fight for, not who you fight as.

Yeah, that's why I was wondering where everyone would go. I thought they were going to have those 5 factions and then put all the characters into a faction. Then whoever you decided to play, you were working toward that faction. lol

At least, that's how it made sense in my brain. haha

I'd still appreciate more unique Lin Kuei representatives then those blue clones we saw crowding around Sub-Zero's awesomness in story mode trailer. There is a chance for Smoke. Then again, some cyber ninjas would be nice, too. At least one.

Arbitrary criterion to split online folks between teams to introduce some goal for them to work towards.

He's actually not black dragon if you read chaper 12, he's just Kotals guy that talks to the black dragon for him, as he won't communicate directly with them. Even though Erron kidnapped them on his own, he still did it for kotal, not Kano.

I find it strange that Kotal Kahn doesn't have his own faction. We know that Ermac, Erron Black, Reptile and D'Vorah fight for Kotal at various points.

Then we have Mileena, who is followed by Goro, Reiko and Rain.

Scorpion could be aligned with the Brotherhood of Shadows and/or Special Forces (because Takeda), but I really wish Shirai Ryu was a selection.

I don't think the faction war selection truly covers all factions, and maybe it doesn't matter.

Factions don't have anything to do with the story but you as a player.
If they did that would mean you would never be able to play as Mileena, Scorpion, or Kotal online.
