Are ya' ready for MK11 kids?!
Haven't really touched Kratos outside of trophy requirements but from what I know, I don't think Kung Lao stops Kratos from being Kratos as much as Freddy or Kenshi.

I always thought KL its the worst MU (i've never played against good Kenshi's player).

What you think is Kratos really OP?
Kenshi is the worst, but KL is a good contender.

I kind of wish that he was. I compare him to Injustice's Solomon Grundy.

Nice usage of the HDCs.
Some tips:
– Dash-canceling the melee parry leaves enough advantage to crossup JIP for extra damage.
– I don't recommend HDCing out of 1,1.
– 2xxHDC is very quick and is helpful in adding an extra hit to your pressure if you're fast.
– Kratos' fastest poke is D1, at 8 frames.
@Alien Substance

Maybe you can shed some light on his question?
Kung Lao's manuveurability and speed can really cramp Kratos' style due to how well it allows him to control the pace of the match. Kratos has to be able to play at a very fast pace to keep up; which his slow normals don't complement at all.

Kenshi is still worse with plenty of armor and the ability to reflect/absorb the Golden Fleece projectile if he happens to reflect Kratos' arrows. His astral energy specials make Kratos unable to parry his zoning. While Kratos does have some options to get around his zoning, they are risky. If he does get in, he has to go up against Kenshi's scary armor and 8-frame Spirit Charges/Vengeance rams. Good reads and careful playing may go a long way, but Kratos is still at a disadvantage with the amount of work and risks he has to do.

Well, now that I think about it, maybe KL and Kenshi are equally as bad...

Thanks! I'll use Jip after parry. Also i noticed, i get punish (if opponent reads my parry) way often than with Cyber Sub parry... and Kratos perry doesn't looks like 1 frame, more like ~2-3 frames (i saw couple times how animation started but parry didn't work). And what about EX HDC to get our from pressure? I tried many times but looks like it works only against Sub-Zero's slide :/

- You're welcome!
- That's because Cyber Sub-Zero's parry can be performed back-to-back and he can recover almost immediately. Kratos, however, has recovery frames on his parry if he doesn't counter anything. About sixteen frames of recovery.
- Really? That's unfortunate. :I
- Be very fast on canceling the EX Hermes Dash into a dash, and canceling the dash into an attack. F4 works for shorter ranges, standing 1 for a little farther away, but that hits high and not mid like F4. Another thing is to try waking up differently or more defensively, but that's a little tough because Kratos doesn't have good wakeups.

- 16 Frames :'(
- yeah i saw that against KL (21) and Sonya (11),
- i completely forgot about f4 option (i always use 21 or 3), thanks!

ok if i find good kenshi/freddy player, i'll update this thread ;)
I actually made a status update about this like 3 days ago. I ran a gauntlet vs all the good Kratos players I know against my Kenshi and I won in the ballpark of 100-0. It was so bad that I was using half health and still winning.

I honestly think Kenshi vs Kratos is a 10-0 MU and the worst MU in the entire game.

I can't think of a single option Kratos has to get in on Kenshi (aside from YOLO jips). Kenshi can also abuse d1~SC to the max vs Kratos.

Kenshi has:

Better pokes
Better normals (LOL)
Way better zoning

The biggest issue is that Kratos #1 tool (golden fleece) and dash cancels are completly negated by Kenshi's zoning, d1~SC, and armor. Hell even Kratos' arrowd are totally useless because of their slow speed and Kenshi's absorb. It is basically a free +10%

The startup frames of Hermes Dash lower Kratos' hitbox and can cause Tele-Flurry to whiff, the armor on EX Hermes Dash can be used to go through a down-slash or tele-flurry, but these are not good options.
In the unlikely scenario of Kenshi not having meter to spend, Spirit Charge is -10 on block and gives Kratos a tiny window to counter attack with a poke or F4,2.

Kratos has a 13-frame D3 that is also -4 on hit,
F1,4 is -40 on block, too.
That Kratos cannot counter-zone.

You're right. Kratos could hate Kenshi almost as much the low-tier characters do.
Hmm... D1~SC means that Kratos has to condition the Kenshi player first before doing any HDC pressure.

How heartbreaking.

I would put it as a 9-1 MU in favor of Kenshi, but if it is really a 10-0 MU, then that gives me a very good option-select for whether I lose or win against a Kenshi player whenever I play MK9.
:)
