Match Footage Critique my gameplay... again..

Recent PSN invitational tournament and I had a runback with Compbros in the bracket..

So guys did I improve from my last set with him? I know Im still falling back on my less damaging 33 in mid combos and dropping my corner game but like @GGA 16 Bit always says 'a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush'. But I did incorporate some footsie tool and gimmicks.. Still working on my post 1f2 knockdown game.

So what do you guys think?

Less raw catdash. Dont get use to getting away with catdashes online, you'll get punished badly offline. Especially raw catdash.

on KD i saw you do like b1~catdash.Very unsafe. You can safe 50/50 on KD vs SM. Catclaws is safe vs SM.

With a big life lead if SM just wants to toss lasers at you, let him. You got impatient and mb catdashed in. You should be able to catevade on reaction, unless you were doing it to build meter,from full screen react to it. A better Zoner will take advantage of that.

You use a lot of meter in combos. Personally I save it to use for MB b3s or mbf3s.

Work in your stagger strings and frame traps.

Less gimmicks (just an opinion), you'll get tech rolled and lose your momentum.

You did good stuff too, d1-catclaw looked solid. Good stuff

Didnt wanna risk b3 after catclaws online...so I resorted to 33... Im gonna improve my meterless combo game. I promise.

b1 CATDASH- didnt do catclaws cuz I wanted unclashable and I wasnt confident in nailing it after b3 online..I know its super unsafe but I guess right...lol

Impatience is my downfall.. with lifelead I still wanna rush in.. Working on it as well..

Used meter because I wanted the kill (hate magic pixel with CW)

I love gimmicks!! but I try to use less of it

What are catwoman's frametraps? I know of f1 into d1 is a frametrap and Compbros was definitely unto my stagger string game.. Should have taken advantage of that and mixed it up more

Cw doesn't have a ton of frame traps. In fact she really only has two that I use. F1 into d1 (which really is a frame trap to get people to respect f1 stagger strings) 1f2 into d1 (again to establish 50/50 follow ups or catch someone trying to poke out.)

2d2 is + 3 I think, but I can't seem to use it well.

My advice is consistently practicing optimizee combos, even online. Online you only want to replace tight time specific parts of those combos, but that's it. I'm not even a dedicated CW main and I can land consistent b12d3's within combos, as well as double f3's. Offline of course (when doing ladder or the lab lol, but still very much doable for a character I just mess around with) and it's not a low blow to you at all, but to show that those that DO use her offline don't even do these combos and resort to the typical ones one would use online sacrificing tons of damage in the long run.

Combos like anything after cat claws. I constantly see:

Ji1, 123~whip. And this is offline, and it drives me crazy because b3 is not hard to connect offline, and like 90% of the time the b3 wouldn't give a transition so there's really no reason not to do it.

Or hit confirming into cat dash instead of cat claws during the first round, or even after they clashed. Again, so much damage is being cut and almost every time this happens, it's not even a positioning thing that's happening.

But yeah, that's about it lol. Just practice the big boy combos...

Oh and learning how to deal with everyone's wakeups. She's one of the biggest pains in the ass when it comes to post knockdown setups given how she can evade a huge amount on its own with b3. Know against who you can use that against, as well as 33, ji1/3 for an ambiguous crossup, and alternating between the MBcat dash the passes through them and f1/b1

@Akromaniac27 your execution skill is beyond great bro, U can nail b3s with Wonderwoman after MB shield toss online- CONSISTENTLY!! Not making any excuses bro. I will practice optimal combos from now on. Catwoman can get almost 60% with one bar, trait and a background bounce. She works so hard to get in so I guess I should let it count when Im finally in. BTW, I noticed u use b123 in mid-combo , it does more damage than 12 or 112 or f2?

Ok this is something I need to work on. What I know is b3 goes under WW's spin MMH's Push Bane's Double punch plus catstance can be used as well.. Do you guys know any wakeups that can be punished with b3 or cat stance? @GGA 16 Bit @KC H0oKsw0rds @Ra Helios @Ecodus ??

2d2 is weird. I normally use this as a gimmick setup to reset combo after bgb or f3.. but I always confirm it into catclaws...

Haha thanks. But yeah man, just grind out those combos. Especially for characters that have need to get in because they don't have a full screen presence, you NEED to make those combos count. With CW, do the math. If you're doing 25-30% combos over and over again, its going to take you 3-4 times to hit them to take a health bar. If you work on optimizing them, you can take it away in as little as 2 combos.

You'll miss time and time again, or just drop them.altogether, but don't quit. Because once you get the timing down, you won't have to practice it nearly as much at all. As for b12d3, yeah it does more damage than those options except for some specific combos where f2 would do more
