I already said why she can't win consistently. Lot's of characters give her trouble. Superman, Black Adam, WW, MMH, Nightwing, Harley, Aquaman, Cyborg, Batman, Batgirl, Hawkgirl, and Green Lantern. After the patch you can add Doomsday, Bane, Catwoman and possibly Ares. Not saying she loses to all these characters but I'd say they definitely give her trouble.
I'm not asking for anything! Lol, I'm just saying the vortex alone does not make her top 5. I said she's upper mid tier. She's fine. What made you think I was asking for buffs? Vortex is strong, but does not make her top tier. Top tier characters force the issue. She just rallies damage at certain points in the match but most of the time she isn't at an advantage in the neutral game.
Yeah...I think it needs to be fleshed out. My opinion is open to changeLol idk man. I just don't see it. I never said it was in Frost's favor. I think its 5-5. I went to TFC and played all the HGs there, including trepound and dark steel (who beat Chris G) and I did extremely well against them. Both players said they think its 5-5 and no other frost they've played were on my level.
I guess it just needs more development. I love HG tho and she definitely shouldn't be slept on. I just think she doesn't beat frost
No good Frost player is saying that vortex alone makes the character top. She has a ton of good tools and people are really over-exaggerating her weaknesses...Yes we all understand she has no air control and terrible normals, but in this game she does not need her normals for the threat of a footsie game because of the threat of slide. It has to be respected at all times. She has an excellent hit-confirmable punish string 111 which is a great defensive option against negative moves. No one is using her crap normals to open people up.

Why do you think MB venom and MB catdash having 2 hits of armor is not a big deal? It's a huge deal. So WW is not a problem for her? Batman and Batgirl are not a problem?
She is very good. Good enough to be upper mid, just not top 5 which is what this thread is about. Again, I never said she was bad. I think people are overreacting to my list of reasons why she is not top tier. You can take almost any character and make a list of weaknesses and it makes them look shitty. In this case I made a list of weaknesses that she has that make her not top five. I have yet to see you or anyone else dispute those weaknesses.
Yeah with that many bad matchups I didn't realize how much overtime I have always been putting in...
Eh, yeah who really knows it is a fringe-troll thread anyways. The point is that she was definitely top 10 before (my opinion was like 6-8 range) and she absolutely got no worse in this up-coming patch. With so many good characters in this game though top 5 means nothing to me. Get iced brah.

Well, the slide/resulting vortex is the only thing I can think of that would make her top tier so I guess I just assumed that is why people think she is so good. If that's not what keeps her competitive then what is? So far I've heard about her slide and 111 punish string (which most characters have). Oh, and the threat of sliding, which i guess lets her do something. I'm not really sure what you get out of that considering her dash and air dash are really not great and her zoning is punishable from slide distance.
why are you going to throw daggers or iceberg at slide distance? seriously what frost player would ever do that?

her 6 frame jab punish string is one of the better defensive type punish options in the game IMO. The point is that a normal weakness that you would normally find to be completely crippling in a fighting game (terrible normals) are completely covered up by the need to not have to play footsies due to the slide and the threat of it. Once you engage her and get in then you have one of the best, hardest to react to f3's in the game to deal with that is only made better by the threat of the slide and your opponents inherent nature to look out for low attacks. Both of these options lead to good damage and a 50-50 vortex with meter available.
