Following a story that unfolded in another thread, players who continue to support Mortal Kombat 9 became worried when they discovered that Gamespy would be permanently disabling its servers on May 31st. Since MK9 is among the games supported online by Gamespy, fans have reached out to NRS for a response regarding the fate of their favorite game. Tonight, Ed Boon responded to one such inquiry via Twitter, and while his post is somewhat vague, it paves the way for much speculation among the fanbase.

Is NRS planning to relocate their iconic product to a new server in order to ensure the continuation of its online services, or does Mr. Boon have something else planned entirely? Hopefully we will discover the answers soon. Keep checking back to learn more as updates are released!

If it got better that would be awesome, I would actually play it online. Either way I'm glad to hear it's continuing, I know some people really don't like IGAU.

I played online for the 3 year anniversary and there were still people playing on XBOX in the middle of the night. Some good players too that I've never heard of. I had a fun time. Hopefully they keep the online at least until MK10, would be a kick to the balls if they didn't.

I wouldn't expect a balance patch if they're actually currently working on MK10 and Injustice 2... however it would be nice to have servers that don't balls, especially for us PC players.
