looking over time, its hard to say that at the time of Evo, there were very few players at that tournament that were at KDZ's level, and having played with him and understanding that he excels at abusing player's weaknesses and bad habits, i can understand why Evo went that way. a lot of players didn't have experience against a superman that was doing all those setups and did all that damage. the only 2 people at Evo that i feel would have been able to beat him at the time were Rico and Chris G because they were able to play the black adam/superman matchup very well and were the only people consistently beating him before Evo. Speaking of those players, at this point in the game, Rico is more focused on KI and Chris doesn't really play much anymore, but they are both very good players and if they took the game more seriously could be a contender for the best injustice player. Rico still can beat the best players but as of late, at majors, he hasn't placed very much.

however for now, jupiter, sonic fox and foreverking all have pretty strong cases for having this title. jupiter has a strongest case of being the best player at this point in the game in my opinion. he has ridiculous reactions, sick reads and pretty much perfect execution. however, he hasn't played many people as a lot of the other players on the list so its hard to say. when he went to NEC he was still very new to playing in tournament and wasn't nearly at the level he is at now, so we would have to wait till the next time he goes to a larger event with other scenes involved. however, no top 8 at a regional/major/bigger tournament/whatever the fuck you want to call it has looked as free as the CW6 top 8 since Evo when KDZ was killin it.

SonicFox is also killin it. he always places top 8 in everything he enters and blows up a lot of people free, however, i feel that hue gets impatient a lot and it is his downfall. i feel that players wo are more patient have a better chance against him, seeing as the last 2 times he lost in grand finals, it was a huge battle of patience and they were waiting for SonicFox to do a wakeup teleport or realized he doesnt like to block on wakeup. even though i have no shot against him and neither do 95% of the people who play this game, there is a clear loophole in his gameplay in the matches that he does lose when these other players its not as obvious. Once he gets over his bad habits hes going to be unstoppable.

Foreverking has been the most consistent player in the game as of late. he pretty much always places top 8, and only twice didn't make it, placing top 16 one of those times, which if you don't make it out of pools once out of like 8 tournaments, its not that big of a deal. everyone has a bad day every now and then. you honestly can't challenge results very much and he has the best.

Let me put it this way, had it been some other player who's had exactly the same results REO did in Injustice, would anyone really call him the best player? I don't think so.
There's also the factor of skill though. If that player was as good as reo then yes. Not everyone votes based purely on results, otherwise this list would only consist of 3-4 people. imo reo is easily top 3 in terms of pure skill. There's players who rarely make top 8's who I'd consider better than some of the most successful players to be honst.

OK, so why is REO more skilled than Sonic Fox? I'm not saying he isn't by the way. I'm just wondering. Fox is so good at every game that he touches. Yes, you could argue that REO's style is more mature and has better fundamentals, but again, that doesn't necessarily make him more skilled. There's something to be said for someone being so good at every game that he plays, including non NRS games (and yeah, I'm sure REO would fit that mold too).

I love how Foreverking and Woundcowboy didn't get top 8 at their most recent major and their votes bizarrely became way fewer than I expected.

Or are you sending a subliminal message by pointing out that ForeeverKing and WoundCowboy didnt make top 8 last tourney? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :p

In NRS, you're only as good as your most recent tournament.
This is true, TYM only cares about your last tournament lol. One mess up and you are labeled "washed up".

In my opinion (but who cares about Forever King's opinon right?) But anyways in my honest opinion the only people that even have the right to have this title are people whom have dominated top 8's for long periods of time, such as:

KDZ
Rico Suave
Sonic Fox
Theo
Me
Wound Cowboy
Jupiter
REO
Chris G (a long time ago, not anymore)

Tournament Results-wise, these people mentioned above are the ONLY people who can even be considered in the "best player" conversation

But if you want my honest opinion on the best people I have personally played myself in casuals/tournament etc.,, I think the best players are Theo and A F0xy Grampa. With honorable mentions to Wound Jupiter DJT and REO

Unrelated, but that's the same problem we as a culture are having in Hip-Hop today. You're only as good as you're last album, or hit. But like I said it doesn't truly relate. Just making a comparison.

There's too many good people, it's hard to say who the absolute best is. All I know is there are some free ass people on this poll whom I would body the shit out of and I don't even know why their names are up there for voting lmao

Maybe like a 30% chance of me going
ah I see, want my runback in random select lol :p. Also as far as best players go, it'd be nice if we had something like a Topanga league that SF4 has, then we could group together like 12 top players and have them round robin duke it out.

Listen, Soniccox is an amazing player. But Batgirl is dumb as shit and let's him get away with alot of BS. I can be wooping his ass and be ahead a full life bar, and he can touch me once and vortex me with coin flips until my life bar is gone and he wins

Fuck Batgirl

if we're going by pure results the best injustice player is @KDZ. kdz has won evo, tfc, and winter brawl. (two of the games biggest tournaments to date). the second best injustice player would be sonicfox since he won the third biggest injustice tournament to date, final round. he's also placed top at tfc, winter brawl, and apex. forever king would be third best injustice player since he's won kit, been at grand finals for tfc, summer jam, top 8 for ncr. jupiter deserves an honorable mention as a player who can certainly become the best player if he just travels to tournaments.

@coolwhip i agree with you that reo shouldn't be in the conversation of best injustice player. most consistent? absolutely. like you said, his tournament showing after evo diminished heavily.

Batgirl is dumb. No question. But part of being a great player is finding a character that suits you and exposing its strength. Hell, part of being a great player is knowing to choose a character that hides your weaknesses. We need to stop with the idea that "great player = great fundamentals" especially in NRS games.

Also, let's not have double standards. REO and Jupiter play fucking MMH. If we're going to discredit Fox because of the character he plays, then let's do the same for those guys. Hell, let's discredit REO's entire MK career, since you know, 6-4 Kabal. Obviously, this would be ridiculous. I agree BatGirl is pretty dumb but hey, many characters in this game have their dumb stuff (Aquaman, MMH, Zod, etc...). Thank god for honest Batman players :DOGE
