RG Sonic Fox wins Injustice: Gods Among Us at CEO 2014!

Blue Blurs for Life!
Last year brought us an incredible tournament for Injustice at CEO, and this year was no different...actually, that wouldn't be accurate to say. While the Top 8 featured some returning faces, other players who were on the rise in past Injustice majors were included in the mix, and all would strive to bring themselves - and you, the viewers - an incredible conclusion to Alex Jebailey's CEO 2014 tournament! As the sun rose above the battlefields of Orlando, the FGC returned to Jebailey's legendary ring to witness the crowning of a champion once again!

Beginning Top 8 on the Winner's Side would be GG Chris G versus Forever King, who chose to surprise everyone with a hilarious stunt by ripping off his shirt and then replacing it with his KIT shirt. It was not the first time Batman and Green Arrow sparred on the CEO arena, so as nostalgia fell over the audience, King took a quick 2-0 lead, but Chris G to respond with the makings of a comeback that would have shattered everyone's senses...until his failed attempts to interrupt Batman's attack string caught up with him. With the score at 2-2, King undergoes some impressive adaptation to come out ahead and advance with a 3-2 victory.

Next match would be deg222, who went by the alias of Scorpion Legend, and RG SonicFox, who rides up to the ring atop the shoulders of a man wearing an animal costume (it wasn't quite a fox, but close enough). While known for his impressive play with Zatanna, Deg's decision to play Batgirl mirrors with SonicFox causes confused chatter among the crowd and costs him two games, giving Sonic a strong lead to start. As a last-minute effort, Deg reverts to Harley, the character through which he had originally built his fame before his transition to the magician. This does not pay off, however, and SonicFox takes it 3-0 and sets the stage for a match with Forever King in Winner's Finals.

Going over to Loser's Bracket, we witness AK Pig of the Hut and KHTX Digit taking to the stage for a climactic clash between Zod and Shazam. Although each match contained plenty of nail-biting moments, Pig emerged victorious with a 3-0 lead and both players departed the ring towards a storm of applause.

Next match featured Pig's AK comrade, AK Saltface, against DR Gross. Although Saltface has established a resume for himself as the Harley Quinn of the World, Gross's plentiful experience against Florida's Doomsday and Harley players makes itself quite evident in the set, which concluded in a 3-0 win for Gross. Florida's players came to defend their territory, and sure as Hell, they would not allow themselves to fail.

Rather than going into Winner's Finals right away, the tournament continues with Loser's Quarterfinals, with Gross facing off against Chris G in a clash of green versus green, arrows versus light energy! In contrast to the outcome of his match with Forever King, Chris G does not falter in his stride and extinguishes Green Lantern's light with an impressive 3-0 win, showing that no amount of nerfs to Green Arrow will stop him from dominating!

Afterwards, we see Pig of the Hut and Deg step up for a clash of the DLC characters, because this time around Deg goes to Zatanna and dispels everyone's doubts with his 3-1 win against Pig of the Hut! We definitely believe in magic!

For Winner's Finals, we got to witness a match that many had desired to see for so long: Forever King's Batman versus Sonic Fox's Batgirl! In one of Batgirl's clash quotes, she demands to Batman that she be acknowledged as a great student, and with SonicFox having taken out King 3-1, she seems to have established a strong case for herself! SonicFox hops along to await his opponent in Grand Finals while we shift the spotlight to Loser's Semifinals...

...which commences with GG Chris G versus deg222. When the score became 2-1 in favor of Chris G, a counter-pick ensued that would quell our beliefs in magic: deg switches to Aquaman and shows just how uphill the match-up is by taking the fourth game so convincingly, tying the set at 2 wins per player. After taking some time to consider, Chris G sticks it out with Green Arrow in one last attempt to remain in the game, only to give up the game as deg lands the winning combo to advance to Loser's Finals. All hail the King of Atlantis!

deg continues to maintain a match-up advantage for himself by bringing his Aquaman up against Forever King's Batman. After losing the first game, King answers this counter-pick with his Martian Manhunter. The choice almost paid off, but one fortunate cross-up on deg's part gives the Atlantean a 2-0 lead. Once again, King responds with a counter-pick through Wonder Woman, only to kneel in defeat before deg.

The tournament came down to the last two players...from the Winner's Bracket comes RG SonicFox, and deg222 swims out from the depths of Loser's Bracket with a resolution to claim CEO 2014! Would Florida's territory be successfully defended by its champion, or would SonicFox dominate Atlantis?! It would be Batgirl vs. Aquaman in a Grand Finals that would top off this incredible weekend!

In the first set, deg's ability to scout out Batgirl's forward dashes plays a great role in his 3-0 win to reset the brackets, as does his use of wake-up Trident Rush. SonicFox responds back with his first victory in the bracket reset, only for his break to be cut short by the console freezing before the next game could begin. Fortunately, the technical issue is resolved quickly, and both players do not hesitate in continuing their tug o' war over CEO's championship belt.

In the next two games, SonicFox's adaptation rockets past the roof and a godlike Super Move secures him the win over deg222's Aquaman! Congratulations are in order to SonicFox for regaining his stride in Grand Finals and planting his victory flag over the state of Florida!

Deg went from hero to scumbag :(. Swapped Zatanna for Aquaman, spammed Trident Rush, and committed the most ultimate sin possible: preventing the stream from watching a tournament-winning super move.

Seriously.

A tournament-winning super-move and he pauses and disconnects :/

Grandmaster
thank god. aquaman is the anti-hype. Brady would win every tourney if he used trident rush 18 times a match.

good shit fawx.

Also, as much as SonicFox actually won the tourney, Chris G has to be the people's champ. The download vs Deg's Zatanna after 1 round was amazing and he stuck to his guns with GA even though it lost him the game.

Much like a certain GGA player in fact...
