RG RM SonicFox wins Injustice: Gods Among Us at The Fall Classic 2014!

Blue Blurs for Life!
The Injustice community never disappoints in their delivery of high-quality matches for all parts of a tournament, be it pools or Top 8. And The Fall Classic 2014 is no different. The Top 8 featured another diverse cast of deadly warriors whose drive to conquer knew no bounds. So many team members clashed against opponents no matter where they met in the tournament, and in the end, a notable East Coast rivalry would see its continuation!

Having defeated SonicFox yesterday to win Mortal Kombat 9, Perfect Legend exuded confidence going into the DC Universe to rematch his rival. When his Doomsday became quickly dismantled by Batgirl, PL decides to remind Barbara about the man...or BATman...who taught her everything she knows. The set dragged on for a length of five games. One faulty Flying Bat wake-up from Batgirl almost cost SonicFox his tournament streak, but tragedy struck in the form of a dropped combo and a mistimed B3 getting punished by a teleport. Yet again, the fox has evaded doom as he advances 3-2!

Against RM HoneyBee, Batman would get a chance thanks to KIT Forever King. For those who watched UFGT:X, they may recall the amazing Top 8 match these two players had, when King was down on matches but managed to snatch the momentum away in such a manner that HoneyBee found himself succumbing to shock. This time around, it was the exact opposite: Forever King dominated the first two games only to get caught slipping up. HoneyBee comes out ahead 3-2, earning revenge for his past defeat!

With Winner's Finals set to go, we turn to Loser's Bracket where HoneyBee's brother and ally, @RM_Biohazard, takes on @AK Trepound380, who exceeded everybody's expectations thanks to the countless hours of training he has poured into his Hawkgirl. His use of Wing Evade 3 to counter Biohazard's rushdown had the commentators and viewers chattering excitedly among themselves. Sadly for him, one of his personal demons in the history of Injustice would not be conquered today, due to Biohazard's notable adjustments. The set concludes with a 3-1 victory for the Venom-addicted Canadian!

What follows is a clash between two teammates from the bloodthirsty Emperor crew: @AK SaltFace vs. @EMPEROR_JUPITER. Sorry Harley Quinn fanatics, no sign of the clown empress here; Saltface empresses DEATH and DESTRUCTION in an effort to force Martian Manhunter into submission. His corner carry through the use of Doomsday's MB Venom proves potent, but Jupiter escapes the blender consistently and checks his opponent for his mobility with a wake-up Low Grab, giving him a 3-1 victory over Saltface. The Apocalypse has been postponed!

As we plow through the depths of Loser's Bracket, the iconic clash between David vs. Goliath...er, Batman vs. Bane, is slated to happen for the match between Perfect Legend and Biohazard. Perfect Legend's preference for offense had to take a back-seat for this match-up as Carl puts up a steel wall of Batarangs, rushing in only while Bane suffered from de-buffs. But Bio would not be deterred by the zoning, and Carl finds himself caught in the storm of a goliath's mix-up options. One final wrong guess with a parry spells out another 3-1 victory for Biohazard. Today...the shadows betray Batman, for they belong to BANE!

Forever King's character choices against Jupiter mirror Carl's down to a T. After an attempt to use Doomsday resulted in a partial blow-out, King called upon his legendary Batman. After taking a two-game lead, Jupiter broke out a never-before-seen gimmick with Martian Manhunter using two MB air dashes, hoping to force King into a panicked state, but this backfired, giving King the chance for a comeback. However, when King tried to take advantage of the Gotham Alley's dumpster in the final game, Jupiter kept him at bay with a well-placed MB Orb to take a 3-1 victory against King. For the final time today, the Dark Knight fell before his adversary, defeated.

Although the wrath of Bane now barred Jupiter's way to the top, Martian Manhunter showed no signs of mental exhaustion. Throughout the course of the match, Biohazard demonstrates a great show of patience and movement to close the distance against his foe, but the relentless chip damage takes its toll on him in the end, as does Bio's failure to punish a whiffed Low Grab from Jupiter. Unable to recover, he is eliminated from the tournament at fourth place, and Jupiter steps aside to await his opponent in Loser's Finals.

The tournament had come to a stretch everyone had anticipated...HoneyBee vs. SonicFox, a clash of RM brethren. HoneyBee had conquered the overwhelming genius of Batman before, but could he do the same with his apprentice? Tension and panic ran strong in the second and third games with failed punish attempts everywhere, and it all stacks up against HoneyBee who loses his composure after failing to punish a blocked Flying Bat from Sonic. At this point, I cannot begin to put an estimate on SonicFox's ungodly win streak. For the umpteenth time, he makes it to Grand Finals on the winner's side of the bracket!

Overcome by fury, HoneyBee prepares to take his frustrations out on Emperor Jupiter atop the Gotham City rooftop, in a rematch that was in the making since ECT 2014. One could almost see tendrils of lightning surrounding HoneyBee, much like the energy that surrounds the scarlet speedster whenever he is mobile. But as down to the wire as the games were, Jupiter sends HoneyBee out of the tournament to join his brother.

As the commentators rightly said, the Grand Finals would treat us to a classic East Coast battle between two longtime rivals. Time and again, Sonic and Jupiter have battled against one another, and The Fall Classic 2014 would simply mark another chapter in a story that may never see the end. Today, SonicFox's tournament streak would be extended by another major tournament win as he stuffs Jupiter's wake-up with a neutral jump attack, closing out Grand Finals with a 3-1 victory!

Congratulations to RG RM SonicFox for proving yet again why he is the man to beat when it comes to Injustice. Many have tried bravely to stop his warpath, but it drags on and on, leaving a smoking wound burning through a trail of fallen opponents. Shout-outs to all the players that brought us such a memorable show for The Fall Classic 2014!

Our gratitude goes out to Kombat Network for their devotion to providing us with a high-quality tournament stream! Injustice is as lively as ever. :)

It's Stephanie Brown.
That's right Cassie is the one with the hood that completely covers her face. There's mud on both our faces now.

Congrats Sonicfox! Stop knocking Saltface into losers dammit!

Congrats to Tre for his first Top8 with Hawkgirl and those lovely wing evades.
And another Congrats to Saltface for making Harley look so bad ass.
Oh and beware the Canadians.

So I see two broken anti-zoning characters and four overpowered rush down characters in this top 8.

Yet this game is dominated by zoning strategies, and pre-patch Black Adam and pre-patch Deathstroke had to be normalized to low mid tier characters.

Such a scrubby ass community.

Why am I, a retired and washed up fighting game player, the only one preaching common sense in this community?

If there is any ounce of decency left in any of you fools, please stand up and apologize for misleading the people and normalizing low gunshots.

What category does Harley fit into by your standards? I'm curious.

Also thread derailment

Honestly, I stopped watching after @HoneyBee vs Sonicfox the 3rd fight. He anticipated a flying bat and went for a punish and to no avail, got robbed. Flying bat is so bad. I'm done.

Congrats to Honeybee for not getting up and bouncing after that nonsense and sticking it out even though you were pissed. Thats good sportsmanship

Nice showing by Sonix Fox. T'was a great tournament, and the stream was good quality.

On the negative side though, we didn't break 800 viewers for Grand Finals... Tekken and Killer Instinct beat us... Sad to see enthusiasm so low..
