|Information|

If you would like to contribute to combos and or setups feel free to do so! Just make sure you use the correct notation for combos. If you are unsure of how to write combos please refer to general notation below.

Almost all
of Reptile's combos are universal, unless they are variation dependent.

Please try your combos and/or setups out in training mode and see if they are practical. Last thing you want is to get punished for using unsafe/impractical strings and setups.
I have not tested everything in this thread, so be sure you keep that in mind. This thread is officially dead now. Feel free to use anything here to create your own thread.

For those of you who don't know how spoilers work, you have to click where it says Toggle Spolier.

Hey guys, it's been a very long time since I've posted on tym. I was a reptile main in mk9 for a while. He will be my main in mkx. I use noxious for a number of reasons, but here are my bnbs for each starter.

I try to end all my combos with f412. When ending combos with this string you can cancel into force ball for wake up pressure, elbow dash for wake up pressure, or Noxious power up for the buffs.

I will update the more I'm in the lab. Hope this helps and let me know if you have some practical combos.

I have found that if you are using F412 (which you will be because its one of Reptiles most used combos for finishing and starting combos) if you fire FFB after you end with F412 it will cause your opponent to have to block which can let you sprint cancel into a 50/50 to start another combo. And better yet if they don't block at all, it resets the damage and gives you an easy opportunity to begin another combo right away. I have found its something very useful for pressure but only works properly if they get hit to max range of F412 otherwise it will go over them before they get up. They can delay get up to dodge it as well but gives you another opportunity to set up a mix up.

Hey reptile players, I hope this is the right thread to ask but reptile one move where he hits low like a drop kick and then back flips after. When it's blocked I can't seem to lay a punish, is it unpinishable?

I use dvorah and when I block it just locks me into a block.

I'm not sure what D'vorah's frame data is but that move with Reptile is -7 on Block.

When exactly should I be using B2 to start a combo, and what do you think Reptile should be doing to get out of corner pressure by Sub Zero?

I can't seem to find practical ways to set up basilisk. It just starts up so slow. Reptile in general seems very meter hungry to do semi-decent damage. I'm having trouble making him work.

B2 has horrible hitboxes. I'd use it only after running to my enemy and being certain he will NOT do a wake up attack or block high. Which is, honestly, almost never.

To escape corner pressure from Sub Zero, try enhanced Elbow Dash or slide. I don't remember if elbow dash has armor, but it will switch sides if Sub doesn't block and you will be able to combo him right out of the bath and set him up with mixups or something. Ex Slide is super fast, will armor through anything and push Sub Zero back a little, giving you time to breath.

Don't bother using Basilisk for anything other than to pressure your opponent and carry him to the corner, because it actually decreases the damage of your combos (except if you do some tricky corner combos with it). You can, however, safely activate Basilisk after F412. Alternatively, you can use F412 + Ex Basilisk + Slide (x5). Not worth it if you just want to damage your opponent, though.

To Live is to Die
Here are some midscreen combos for activating Basilisk in neutral or post knockdown after F412 or 4. The combos starting out with a move assumes you are right next to the opponent. (Like if they tried to wake up with something and it doesn't reach Reptile). Also I noticed that if there wake up does reach you, if you recover in time don't try to block (cause you can't in Basilisk) try armoring with EX BF2 or back dashing and punishing with F412. If you do EX BF2, the combos will be the same as B2.

B2 is his tongue attack right? I so wish this move was a mid instead of a high. Then it would actually have a use. I like the string (I think B2, D4) where he attacks with a low afterward. But there's just barely a practical use for this when his B2 hits high. I hope it gets changed to a mid in the future.

Xev

B2 is his overhead, b1 is his tongue attack. I really don't see any use for his tongue attack.

learis1

Guardian Cadet
Oops my bad, yea I was talking about his tongue attack. I agree with what was said about his overhead though. It's pretty obvious that when you're up close you know you have to block high vs Reptile.
