Yo wats guys im just starting mk9 and wat r the main things that i need to know about johnny cage like his main bnbs, frametraps, ect. Plz Help.
Well you're job with Cage is to end all combos with a nut punch. So here are some mid-screen and corner combos to get you practicing... Mid-screen: 1. F4-2-2-2-44-nut punch 2. B3-2-2-2-44-nut punch 3. F33-nut punch 4. 21F2-F3-nut punch (you can do 21F2-F3-F3-nut punch but try on playing it safe until you get a hang of his combos) Corner: 1. 21F2-2-2-2-2-2-114-nut punch 2. B3-2-2-2-2-2-114-nut punch 3. F4-2-2-2-2-2-114-nut punch Frametraps: 1. 11F1 on block gives an unavoidable F3 follow-up. Only use it off a jump-in punch (preferably after you've landed a nut punch). 2. Ending any string (namely F33) with EX force ball also gives you advantage on block. The force balls can miss crouching characters. Also vs Ermac and Reptile you have to do 13-EX force ball because F33-EX force ball whiffs against them. Those are your two frame traps but Cage has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Anyways if you have any questions regarding the notations please don't hesitate to ask. Good luck and welcome to TYM!
i suggest you read around the cage forums, the cage match up chart, guides ect they have everything you need and more, also just a little tip, play footsies, dont just rush in 24/7 if you get predictable with cage you will lose to even the scrubbiest of players. if you need to learn how to play footsies add me on psn and i can show you the ropes
