Injustice - Russian Tournament Footage w/ Chen-Sek, Diametr, Insignis, Aris and KINGusha

The Injustice tournament that took place just days ago in Moscow at Igromir, Russia's biggest video game exhibition, is over and we can now view some of this tournament footage thanks to Mr. Riddler aka "Aris" at Fighting.Ru. In the tournament video footage it's all about the Flash as all of the Top 4 were using him. We must keep in mind that this is an early build of the game and it for show purposes and it nowhere near the final product. Needless to say there were complaints about the Flash and his speed, but he's the Flash! The footage seems to display many of the Flash's moves that may or may not have been seen before.

Aris also gave a lengthy post about his opinion of the game, but keep in mind that this is a post made in Russian using Google Translate to translate it so it may not be completely accurate.

Wonder how extended combos will look in this game, because seems like nothing is connecting.
Flash needs to buff up more, his hitbox doesn't match his skinny ass body.

All I saw were Rain's 4, 3 combo and Fatalities. They can try to lie to us if they want, but I saw Fatalities; they're just automatic. I'm ok with that, it means less tea bagging.

Well it certainly looks like one of flash's combos is pop up move then sissy double kick. Repeat. That's the only thing they did pretty much. And wager.

Okay, yeah Flash looks pretty busted currently lol. IMO
  • add more recovery to dash uppercut. It loops 3 times in a row...possibly more. Keep its startup though. Needs to be a good AA.
  • Dash is crazy good. Needs some tweaking. Its giving him nearly full screen poke pressure to start block strings
  • Wagers are TOO long. After seeing them used to break TOD Flash stuff several times I got to say that I would just remove the cinematic or toss them because they look like they were being used as breakers more than meter deterrents as fast as they built meter in those matches.
  • ELBOW! kick kick ELBOW kick kick UPPERCUT UPPERCUT *WAGER!* seems to be the flow of the whole match. Is that elbow>double kick>uppercut loop and infinite or something? Its all I saw.
  • Meter build is a bit insane right now. Guys are getting TONS of meter out there. EX moves are great and all, but it looks like what I feared...if you have ANY game that has a way to burn meter for a combo break then that is the only thing people will want to use it on. There were some EX in there, but its looking like TvC and MK9 syndrome of hold back to break combo...of course in a Flash mirror match in this build with that loop what else can you do?

    lol. Flash is looking hilariously too good at any range with that dash poke and his pressure. Time slow looks like he can have anyone other than another Flash trapped in perpetual block strings currently. I think the guy may need some recovery frame tweaking or possibly have his recovery scale to cut down how long he can hold you in block string at this rate.

The elbow kick kick is just a basic loopable string, its a launcher and its special cancelable.
A few characters have something similar in MK9, Liu kang, Smoke, and Kano.

What there doing is like the standard Liu kang combo that everyone hates, B321, B321, B321, B321 xx Bike kick.
They kinda designed Liu to be a super scrub friendly character as hes the "main character" of MK.
I guess that's what there doing with flash IDK.

Because he's the only one we've seen an hour of solid play with lol.

Like I said, I'm not gonna push any character feedback on NRS on Wednesday. I'm gonna push for more stuff like what we just saw. Exhibitions with solid players trying to win of each character as well as character breakdowns of moves in trailers and talk about their properties and EX version properties.

Still that looked like an easy combo and I won't take back what I said about Clashes. That got old with the cinematic and I strongly get the sense that they aren't really affecting meter play so much as just ending most meter usage entirely. Its sort of a pattern in games that use combo ending mechanics that share the hyper bar. Its what every single game thats used that setup has devolved into in the meter game and I'm not seeing much to make me guess why it wouldn't be the case here.

Please break apart what I said earlier and tell me if any of it sounds relevant to you. Its my initial knee-jerk reaction to what I just saw so I would like to know from your time with the game how much of it sounds good to your or not.

Can you EX the lightning uppercut?
I know EX attacks are kinda weird in this game, there basically brave edges from SC5.
