Yesterday during Amazon game's 5-hour all-access Mortal Kombat X stream there were multiple matches involving Goro. We learned his three variations and their abilities, which are:

  • Tigrar Fury: Gains Flame Ball and Dragon Breath
  • Dragon Fangs: Gains unique attacks utilizing Bladed Gauntlets
  • Kuatan Warrior: Gains powerful Ground Pound and Chest Charge
Since yesterday's stream various YouTube channels have uploaded the Goro gameplay along with Fatalities. So, in case you missed the action or simply didn't have time to watch a 5-hour stream, here are a few videos.

Plus on block.
He didn't have too.

I no offense to him but I wish they sent Derek instead, for the sake of decent combos and more move variety.

Everyone can get better even Tyler, he practiced execution a LOT to get that belt from Derek two streams ago, NRS community Specialist as leveled up.

It was a sucky SUCKY stream! Why do they always let crappy players demo MKX? They could show the full potential of the game if they let experienced players demo it.

You will serve me in The Netherrealm
Get over yourselves. This was obviously a stream for casuals. That you expected otherwise is silly. Remember, we are the minority. Of the 3 million copies MK9 sold, only 500 people attended the first EVO and i'm fairly certain they weren't all high level players.

Remember, to the majority, WE are the weird ones for spending hours grilling combos into our muscle memory and spending hundreds to fly all over the country to play a video game.

Let's try and keep some perspective.

Yikes, this was rough. Whoever those people were with Tyler were incredibly annoying. I don't get how they would think that someone mashing buttons would really show off the game. And the one guy just kept screaming. Honestly, I only watched about 8 total minutes and had enough. How would anyone get through 5 hours?

I also wonder if Tyler was told specifically to pretty much only do special moves. I don't remember seeing one normal thrown out. I wanted to see what Goro's d+4 looked like, for example.

Oh well, this is actually kind of good. When people get their hands on Goro it will be totally fresh because we still don't know much about him. Let's just all promise to drop the hashtag shit.

I see your point, but maybe if they show of the full potential of the game more people will start to play the game more serious because they see how the game can be played.

I was one of those people at Evo, and I consider myself very casual. I'm so casual in fact, that I haven't gotten to watch this stream yet! But I can also tell you that I grind the lab, I have decent execution and generally try and develop a strategy for winning the match.

I can also tell you that watching people scrub it out drives me crazy. Every time I see someone mashes a stun special move (Ice ball\Scorpion Spear\Quan Chi Hypnotize) into throw I sigh. Every time I see X-Ray mashed out like it's the answer to everything, I face palm. Every time I hear a guy scream for no good reason, I want to turn off the stream.

As a casual player that will probably be very good at this game, but will never get the chance to play in anything besides casual matches between one friend and some online, I want to see people that understand fighting game mechanics demo the game. To use a bad car analogy, when they make car commercials to sell cars, they generally don't make them about a middle aged guy driving his minivan to the hardware store like I did this weekend, they show a professional driver pushing that fucking minivan to its limits, trying to sell me on the fact that it's a screaming high-speed, chick magnet.

That's what I want to see on the stream, some showmanship, some pageantry if you will. And to get that they need to have some people with execution actually play the game and show it off, preferably while they commentate over it. But I do want to say that I enjoy the fights for the belt, and do enjoy these reveal streams. I just feel like it would be that much better if they showed more of the possibilities of what the characters and game are capable of.
