Blue Blurs for Life!
This tournament saw an almost prophetic outcome. Ever since @FOREVER EL1TE made his debut in the East Coast tournament scene, his Nightwing arrested so much attention from the Injustice community. Tonight, it all came down to a clash between the boy prodigy and the mighty EMP RM @KDZ. These two players were the first to lead off the Injustice Top 8 finals and, by an amazing twist of fate, would meet again in Grand Finals after REO's switch to Batman cost him Loser's Finals. The two battled within the temple of Themyscira for the right to be called the champion...and the final result is KDZ standing victorious before his Amazonian tribe!
Not a single moment in the Injustice tournament conveyed a sense of letdown to the viewers. One would not know where to begin when laying out a list of the amazing moments shared with the players and stream viewers, but here are some examples:
1) RM NoBrows taking his opponent, REO, down to his last legs in the second match of the Winner's Bracket. One dropped combo would be the deciding factor to their conflict! Cat claws versus icicles!
2) No sign of REO's Martian Manhunter, but we do witness his Killer Frost and Batman returning from the ashes!
3) RM Decay plows through a majority of the bracket with nuclear shells, only to succumb to the might of REO and FOREVER EL1TE.
4) KDZ lost a grand total of only one game in the Top 8, but no sets.
5) A twist that many Injustice players have waited for finally surfaced - in this tournament, interactables would be disabled. This applied mainly to background bounces, objects that could be thrown, corner traps, etc. However, stage transitions remained in effect. The progress of this no-interactable smackdown will be evaluated and potentially considered for future tournaments in the Monster Island series.
We would like to thank everybody who banded together to run this fun tournament, including @Sabin for providing us with live coverage of their event. An archive of the Injustice Top 8 will be shared once the broadcast reaches its end.
