By tax the rich more you mean the same as the rest of us right? Taxing at a higher percent is not fair and punishes success. Just have them pay the same percent as the rest of us. No tax breaks and no loop holes. Need to get rid of IRS to permanently remove most tax loopholes.

is this directed at my post? if so, i meant to say that the big earners are taxed less because of the pull they have with the government. this was a statement in response to another post, not my opinion on how it should be handled.

I've always had a big problem with considering higher taxes on the wealthy (something we did successfully for decades until the right wing decided it was evil) "punishing success". Maybe I'm just a strange person, but I consider "success" to be the extent of one's contribution to societal progression. I never saw why it has anything to do with how much money one makes. Higher taxes on the wealthy is just saying "you can afford to give us more money, which is something we need to improve the country that helped bring you this wealth, so stop being a whiney asshole".

I won't vote for either of them. Because that would be like me saying I approve whoever is chosen and they are both garbage human beings.
I wonder what would happen if no one in the US decided to vote. What in the world would they do.

Marijuana only.

Anything else would be a shit idea and would only increase the overall drug problem.
Decriminalization (not full legalization) would be good though. Portugal did this a few years ago and their drug problem has gotten significantly better with a larger focus on treating addicts instead of arresting them.

Explain to me what this means exactly?

Those caught for possession do not face jail time, but are rather fined and/or admitted to rehabilitation programs if it's determined they are an addict. It's resulted in reductions of drug-related deaths and HIV cases, as well as an increase in voluntary treatment.

I say anything else than weed and they immediately are forced to go to rehab.

Otherwise i agree.

except that it's already been done. And the results are the opposite of what you claim.

sorry but I trust facts before I just "assume" whats gonna happen.

show me a country that decriminalized all of them and had huge increases after a decade and we'll have something to argue about.

To me it's like taking some meter from the winner of the round in a 1v1 MK9 match and giving it to the loser. You already won and the loser could use some to move on up.

Not every rich person worked as hard as another rich person to get where they are. *cough paris hilton*. But it's highly demotivating that each bracket you move up. Your % on your taxes increase. If they can provide a service, that warrants your money. They deserve the profits.

The PROBLEM is not taxing them more than middle class. It's CRONY capitalism. companies getting free money from tax payers/ federal reserve when they did nothing to deserve it. Why give Goldmen saches billions of dollars and not the home owners who couldn't pay for it? i mean if your gonna throw out money, why give it to the banks who take their houses, and get to keep the money?

and the spending is out of control. Politicians will make all kinds of "Promises" that ultimately hurt the economy. I remember they passed a law somewhere to get bonds from the government to give out free bicycle helmts? WHY AM I PAYING FOR SOMEONE ELSE's helmet? and who knows how many people took a free helmet when they don't even need it. it's a bunch of little things like this.

the reason alot of corporations lately are sitting on money, is because they like us are afraid of the collapse and are putting it into solid investments aka assets and sitting on it. So if the dollar crashes and becomes nothing. Holding onto fiat money will do no good.

Best way to deal with the drug problem is to legalize them. Look up Portugal
History shows that prohibition not only doesn't work, but creates more problems than does good. First of all, people will find a way to still get the drugs whether it's legal or not. Secondly, it creates drug wars and gang wars based on territory. Thirdly it costs so much more to lock up drug dealers/users than it's worth. Fourthly the economic benefits would be substantial if something like Marijuana was legalized.

Now I'm not saying just legalize every drug and call it a day. All I'm saying is prohibition doesn't work, and for a drug like Marijuana, it should have never been illegal in the first place.

It was only illegalized because it interfered with corporations. There is no real reason for it to be illegal.

You're a great man, Juggs.

I'm actually stunned 10 people voted for Romney.

I'm stunned there's even 1 vote for Romney, dead serious. I honestly think people just don't like Obama and are voting for Romney. Without even realizing how fucking batshit crazy Romney really is.
Man even if you dont like Obama, you have to realize he would not be nearly as bad as Romney. I mean Obama has problems and moral issues, I get that. But Romney is even more dangerous because he is ignorant. He doesnt know anything about foreign policy(That worked so well *cough*Bush*cough*) and he is only looking after himself. Add a VP that cannot physically tell the truth and a wife who is even more ignorant than he is and you have one of the worst candidates ever. What's sad is my state will vote Romney no doubt. Fuck Texas man.

Obama isn't good on foreign policy. I'm not saying Romney is. He is terrible, but when both candidates are bad you can't like only one of them is bad. We need to stop bombing innocent people.

Just means 10 rich people lurking these boards. People who want them tax cuts for the rich.

After researching a little more in depth, you are right. Obama is horrible in foreign policy. I agree with you that he is bad, but not as bad as Romney, so once again he is a lesser of two evils. World peace will never happen, no matter who is president. I sincerely hope Obama changes his ways though, because quite frankly the stuff I have read makes me shudder. I thought he had set a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan but he never went through with it. Still though, I do believe he actually wants to end the war.

Romney on the other hand wants to intervene in any country that may be holding nuclear weapons, and wants to use military force to build our credibility and show our power:
http://www.ontheissues.org/2012/Mitt_Romney_War_+_Peace.htm

So once again, lesser of two evils...

And they get profits. It's like that episode of South Park about illegal downloading. Increasing taxes on them doesn't make them middle class, it just means they might need to buy a normal private jet over a gold-plated private jet. It's not a punishment, it's telling them that because they can afford to do so, they must give more to help the country that helped them get to where they are.

This is absolutely a huge problem I have. I like you because you're actually logical, rather than some people I've dealt with on this site haha.

There are little things like this, yes, but that's not where the big dollars are going. There are people on the right wing who want to cut things like federal funding for research (which would negatively affect me, personally), when this is such a small part of our spending. People are afraid to put things like cutting defense on the table. The amount of money that we use for our defense budget is absolutely ridiculous, and leagues above the amount of any other country in the world.

I made a video post earlier about defense budget fear mongering. You're right defense budget is a huge part of it.we have less active troops than in 2003 yet we spend almost double.

Eff off defense contractors stop buying our politicians.

Obama will be President again because the problem with Republicans is they refuse to get with the times. They would drag America and the world back into the 1950's again if possible.
