You can load stage specific interactibles in the training room. Does this mean all stages are the same length? If so, I don't like it. Different stage sizes was fun in MK9. Considering MKX will be random stage every time in tournaments, it's going to be even more fun.

i think stage counterpicking is stupid. seeing kabal get first stage pick in a bo3, winning on the pit, losing on rooftops, then winning on the pit again was so repetitive.

editlief oops, i really shouldn't make posts when i'm barely waking up. should've been the other way around with kabal trying to spam rooftop for the w

Saying "adapt" doesn't make the thing in question ok. Use all the cliche fighting game terminology you want but a lot of people feel that differently sized stages is nonsense.
Dude, fighting games also have different characters with different movesets. What nonsense. I feel you :DOGE
As long as the game mechanics permit overcoming such things as different stage sizes, it's ok.

Get on that hook
Same size is better. I think the different stage sizes in MK9 and Injustice was for aesthetic purpose and wasn't intended to drastically change gameplay like it did for MK9.

And there are interactables already so you have your variety right there

Stages having the same length only helps the balancing of the game... Did NRS state the length of the stages were all equal ?

No sane tournament player liked varying stage sizes..you know when they spend money and shit to compete.

Easy to like stage sizes at the comfort of your couch.

Kinda surprised there isn't a push for training stage tournament standard yet... It would suck because there are some beautiful looking stages but I would understand it...

Fighting games are supposed to be about the characters. That's the point. Not about how large or small the stage is.

If all stages were the same, what would their purpose be, just aesthetics? Then there wouldn't be a need for more than one stage. Wow, such an interesting game.

I thought the the varied stage sizes was the same principle as the stage interactables. You might have to alter your strategy based on the stage your opponent chooses.

As long as the players choose the stage, I'd like to see where this goes.

Are ya' ready for MK11 kids?!
I'm not too fussed either way, interactables already confirmed stage cherrypicking from the get go, I just hope all the stages are actually optimized to run properly on all systems.

You mean the same guys who travel from Korea to the States for Tekken where variable stage sizes have been a thing for over 10 years? The like bait attempt is strong with this one.

What NRS did this time around I think is a good thing, they made all characters interact the same with interactables. Initial stage positioning may be an issue though.

Yes. That would be the purpose.

Fighting games have had no problem with this for decades. But then again they must not be interesting games.
