What's new

The make-or-break of MKX for me is still unanswered

Its a big worry/concern for everyone but it will not swing the buying decision of anyone. At most It will just make that purchase less exciting. If your on this forum, your going to buy the game. If your on the fence about buying the game, you prob dont even know that this forum exists.
That's not true, @Ninj has already stated that it is a dealbreaker for him, just like a lot of people aren't getting the game due to the region lock situation.

I disagree. The timing is differnt online and you have to compensate for lag.
All timing for fighting games is a little different online due to lag. You will never have 100% lagless internet play.

But, especially compared to MK9, I felt like Injustice's netcode got the job done.

I don't think Injustice's netcode was even that bad. I rarely had problems.
I had the complete opposite experience. It was so bad to the point I was afraid to even move at times online. I can't begin to tell you how many times frame data went out the window online, only to try the same situations in training to find out that it's impossible.

What if it wasn't Injustice's netcode....

...But your connection?

Well it definitely won't be as good as KI, if they were going to use Rollback netcode, they would have announced it by now.
So it's still input delay.

It will most likely be better then Injustice, but will still cause nothing but headaches and grief.

I played IGAU on PC once and dear lord was that something you wouldn't wish upon your enemies.
If MKX is anything like that was then I'm gonna be a sad man

If MKX didn't have a character I liked I wouldn't buy it, If I was in a country where online is my only scene and the netcode was bad I wouldn't buy it. Just because someone is on a forum doesn't mean they will buy the game. I'm on smash boards and I have no intention of buying Sm4sh
I believe most people assumed that because this is a Mortal Kombat forum, but you've already covered your bases in your post. However, I'm unfortunate enough to the point none of my favorite MK characters are in MKX, while I am butthurt about it, I will still be purchasing the game, even if the online is shitty as well, simply because I have a passion for MK. I think a lot of people on this forum feel the same, but there are the rare exceptions.

Also, I'm going to assume that 1 character you like is "Deborah?" So, there isn't even another character that is blowing your whistle?

Well he's also a staff member and moderator. People have their doubts.

"MKX Netcode sucks? See you on the KI forums bros I'm retiring from MK" is probably not gonna happen lol.

I've said it before when everybody was bitching about region-locking and I'll say it again:

1. I have yet to play an Xbone game with a bad multiplayer experience, and that's from 10+ titles. This includes games that have to process a lot more information at any given moment than a fighting game, such as Titanfall. You might say "But Possm, MKX isn't Titanfall!" Yeah, and its not MK9 either so stfu.

2. I didn't experience too many issues with Inustice with the exception of the unplayable game every now and again. Maybe one ranked game per hour. King of the Hill, on the other hand, was a different story. KOTH was almost always a bad connection for me personally.

Some of you guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment by expecting a 100% seamless "WTF-is-lag" online multiplayer experience. I think it's gonna be something like Street Fighter 4: completely playable, but don't expect to land your most difficult combo.

I would imagine a 40 down and 11 up is decent enough to play online with someone. Unless, it was my opponent's who had a significantly worse connection than I. Either way I never had such problems with SF, KI, or SCV.

Cassie a little and maybe Mileena. When I play or buy a fighting game I have to like a character on the roster. Since Hisako is coming out for KI, I will now purchase it.

The online doesn't really concern me because I'm fortunate enough to have an offline scene, but to some people that is a huge factor in purchasing just as a character is for me.

you really need to play KI after practicing for about 30 mins.

You literally do not have to change any timings.

Bad netcode on these systems is just unacceptable at this point.

Both MK9 and Injustice were overall bad. Everyone will agree ONCE they've been shown what good really is all about.

I honestly don't think MKX's netcode will be that good. Maybe slightly better than Inj's netcode, but that's not saying much.

I really hope I'm wrong and that MKX has really good netcode, but I doubt it will.
In all honesty I would be happy if I can play the way I'm suppose to online. No game will ever be completely lagless online, but it would be nice for being + on block to actually give you advantage lol. Injustice left a raw taste in my mouth.

Even without playing KI(and I never will because XBone), I am very certain that it is not a 100% duplicate of the offline experience in terms of delay. Every online game has some amount of delay.

Also, what every one seems to forget is that NRS might not have the servers in-house to have this god-like online experience. Most likely, they probably have to outsource.

I know this isn't the thread for this, but Hisako disappointed me, lol. The only character I like in KI is Wulf so I bought him and left it at that, lol. Are you going to purchase the full game or the 1 character?

For the Current Gen, I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about. Playing Injustice on PS4 netcode compared to PS3 netcode was way better.

But the only way we all will really know is when we have the game and play online to be sure. But I don't think the netcode is going to be as bad as Mk9
I found ps4 to be equal to Xbox netcode for injustice. Which is better than PS3 but not by much lol

Might as well get the full game, I hate having an incomplete roster even If I don't play the character lol

That wasn't my point

my point was that you need to play it to understand where we are coming from.

Yes... it is a fact that they can't be 100% the same.
Again, this isn't my point.

You are skipping over the simple fact that I do not have to change how I play/time things from practice mode to online play.
