Surprise returning character! Liu Kang is SO EXPECTED, repeating MK9 bosses (Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn) is not a surprise it's STUPID, Fujin is featured in the first chapter, he's the wise Raiden, I think if he's the Big Bad it'll be a SURPRISE

Ed down shooting all the Hsu Hao demand is really suspicious.

I think Quan Chi tries to resurrect Hsu Hao as the final boss.

Would make the most sense since he is the strongest MK character in canon.

It will be Goro. Then NRS will be like, "lol you pre-ordered. Guess what, you get him anyway." People will be totally fine with it.

Freal though it would be cool if it were Shang Tsung, but it's probably Liu Kang.

I'm kinda past the excitement with reveals now though. I just want the game. :)

Nothing would make me happier if its Shao Kahn. He is my favorite MK character and I just want him to be playable for a change. Playable in the sense that he is fleshed out and has his own variations and all. Here's hoping..

And I don't think its Liu Kang either. Too much of an anti climactic secret character if you ask me.

I'll be really disappointed if it's Liu Kang, but I'm not about to bitch about a damn thing. This game has me harder than a diamond in an ice storm.

Having said that, I hope NRS throws us a curve ball. Although Boon already stated the "big bad" in this game has never been the boss in any other game. I'd put money on it just being Liu Kang.

If I had to choose, I'd looooove to see Reiko be the guy. Or Fujin. Or naked Shao Kahn. Or Noob Saibot. Or Blanche. Or anyone aside from Liu Kang.

I'm not so sure that there will be a unlockable character to begin with. If there is, my guess would be Liu Kang and that we found out too early. To quote @TomlulsBrady , "no one cares about a fuck boi like Reiko over here."

NRS confirmed that there is indeed one character unlocked by beating story mode (Kombat Kast #5, I think). This would imply that the big bad is the locked character in question. Liu Kang is the only character from the leaked list (which has yet to be incorrect thus far) whom we have seen absolutely nothing of. Thus, it is a fair assumption to assume that Liu Kang is the secret character.

Are you not so sure now? :)

Probably Liu Kang as the final boss. But it would be cool that he would've aged like Kung Lao did, and people will mistake him for Shang Tsung at first. Maybe he'll have Shang Tsung's soul somehow. Something like that would make it interesting.

Quan Chi had an ending where he resurrected Shao Kahn and the stage is littered with Shao Kahn items, so I think it's definitely a clone of some sort in the blood pool.

I'm beginning to think that Liu Kang might be the Cyber Sub-Zero of this game (meaning unlocked near the end of the game) and Shao Kahn might be the character unlocked after beating the game. I remember watching a couple of interviews/gameplays where they talk about how they're able to fit bigger characters like Ferra/Torr and Goro into the game. Maybe that means we'll get another big character like Shao Kahn. Plus since he's a clone, they could say that's the reason why he's not super powerful like he usually is.

Because he has a skin coming with Tanya, yet we haven't heard any official news about him/saw any gameplay images/leaks.

He is strongly tied to being the unlockable character after story mode.
